  1. I don't profess to know much about the subject of UML, but I remember for a module last year we had to use a program called ArgoUML - which was free. It's java based so it is multi-platform too. I don't know if it will be up to whatever you want it for though. Googlify it.
  2. They are particles that are emitted individually. They have nothing to do with waves, EM or mechanical. A mechanical wave is oscillation through a medium. Also, mechanical waves don't have a spectrum like EM ones do, so no, they aren't on the 'wave spectrum'. Even if they were mechanical waves, which they aren't, they would have nothing to do with microwave ovens. Why are you pretending you know about this stuff? It is okay to admit you're wrong. People don't think someone is an idiot for admitting they were mistaken; they think they're an idiot for pretending they know about things.
  3. I didn't read the post of his that you quoted. You did say proof that they can roll on the road though...
  4. I believe Top Gear did it a while back on their test track. They were debunking the 4x4 safety myths and showed that if the car in front decides to stop suddenly and you have to violently swerve it is very easy to roll. If it wasn't Top Gear then it was one of the spinoffs, but I think it was Top Gear. I don't have a link though.
  5. If you're saying "the radiation from a microwave - which is alpha rays" then you are not in a college physics class. If you were at college doing physics (which, incidentally, my brother is) you'd know that they have nothing to do with microwave ovens, as you said they did. Quite the contrary, if you look up you'll see I actually said this: There's nothing wrong with being incorrect as long as you readily admit it when you realise...
  6. Are you simple? If he could just go out and buy another machine then he wouldn't be here trying to troubleshoot a problem with a pentium 1.
  7. Not very helpful. Do you think he'd be trying to troubleshoot this problem if he could just buy another computer?
  8. It is indeed innovative, but that's very different to it being an experimental release.
  9. Not a chance. What do you have to support that? Of course it isn't experimental. With the amount of development they have done and the number of games coming out for it there is no way it is an experimental release.
  10. How ironic. Maybe you should do research before you speak: http://www.isuppli.com/news/default.asp ... =11&y=2006 Notice where it says Blu-Ray Optical Drive - $125.
  11. Well who else would they be made for? If you take a look at the Lexus one that is available do you think anyone would be driving that off road? Don't know about any others.
  12. I have to say the same. I have 3 friends wanting a Wii, 0 friends with or wanting a 360, 0 friends wanting a PS3. I am looking forward to any game that uses the Wii wand in an innovative way... Red Steel looks good because it will be one of the first console FPS games which one will be able to control effectively thanks to the Wii wand.
  13. You can also sometimes get a jumper on the drive that limits it to being a certain size. Perhaps that would be of help? I don't know if it would provide for a limit that low though.
  14. One thing that is funny is that 'holiday' is no less 'offensive'. By calling it a holiday you acknowledge that it is a holy day.
  15. What I don't understand is why so many people are lining up outside these shops even when some are guaranteed to not get a console. Then again, you have to be pretty stupid to line up in the first place, so maybe they don't realise.
  16. It was getting to me and I'm an atheist from several thousand miles away...
  17. Funnily enough I did, but I'm guessing you didn't. Alpha rays redirects to alpha particles. Yes, there are gamma rays but there are only alpha and beta particles. Some might call them rays, but that is incorrect as they are actually particles (helium nuclei as I said before, and electrons or positrons). Looking at the electromagnetic spectrum you'll see that it makes no mention of alpha or beta rays - only gamma rays. Probably because gamma are the only ones which are actually rays. Honestly, do you check these things that you cite as evidence before you post? Even if you are going to (erroneously) call them rays they have nothing to do with microwave ovens.
  18. The thread isn't about that though, it's not whether you defend your friend on the spur of the moment - it is about going to a pre-arranged fight later on that day, or perhaps even another day.
  19. I know, but that's why I said most. Because that's the case here - it might be different however many thousand miles away where you are.
  20. There's no such things as alpha rays. There are alpha particles, which are related to radioactive decay, not electromagnetic waves. Alpha particles are helium nuclei and can't pass through a piece of paper. Alpha particles have nothing to do with microwaves or microwave ovens. This wireless power will be a big waste of energy - even directional antennas like that leak to the sides and project their beam as a cone.
  21. THAT is what I hate HATE HATE about most 'SUV' drivers. They don't buy it for its primary purpose; they buy it as a status symbol and they are arrogant. People who use it for what it is meant to be used for - no problem.
  22. Aren't the GT versions PCI-E anyway?
  23. People don't like to have to deal with other people. I can't stand using public transport for these reasons: [*:hekbs482]Surly bus drivers who act as though its an inconvenience to them when you get on their bus [*:hekbs482]Drunks/tramps [*:hekbs482]The noise [*:hekbs482]Chance of getting mugged in big cities [*:hekbs482]Have to wait for the vehicle to arrive [*:hekbs482]Costs more than driving in my car [*:hekbs482]Uncomfortable [*:hekbs482]Only goes to certain places - I have to walk to the bus stop/train station and then again from the next one to uni - my car takes me door to door [*:hekbs482]It is crowded [*:hekbs482]It is cold I need to have a car anyway, so it isn't as though I only have one for commuting. I don't live in a place with congestion charging though.
  24. "A video card, (also referred to as a graphics card, graphics accelerator card, display adapter and numerous other terms), is an item of personal computer hardware whose function is to generate and output images to a display. The term is usually used to refer to a separate, dedicated expansion card that is plugged into a slot on the computer's motherboard, as opposed to a graphics controller integrated into the motherboard chipset." No, you can't get one for free.
  25. Had you read this thread you'd notice that it was blue107 that I was imitating when I said that. Why do so many of you lack comprehension skills? I was quite happy to leave it where it was, you're just perpetuating it now.
