Punching a pillow cannot be compared to taking out aggression on a video game character. A pillow doesn't react, it doesn't look like a person and there is no outcome. People don't just play games because violence is glorified, they also do it to release aggression. In the past, when I've been a bit angry I have gone on San Andreas and stamped on peoples crotches. Do I do this in real life? No. If someone mimics a game it is that person's fault, not the game. If someone deliberately runs someone over with a car it is that person's fault, not that car's. Blaming violence on games is like blaming obesity on spoons.

Do you think you're some sort of counsellor now? Aren't you 16 and in one of your first relationships? Do you think you're an expert? Why do you bring it up on threads where it is completely irrelevant? Why not come back when your relationship has lasted more than a couple of months and then preach about relationship success. There are plenty of us who are 20+, have been in our relationships for many years, have a little bit of life experience outside of school and don't purport to be experts on the subject. I know you're exited about young romance but tone it down, you are looking pompous without good cause.

That could, by someone very immature, be misinterpreted. I doubt that spell would ever show up in a game for that reason.

Perhaps introducing more paternity leave would help with that. I know that women may still get pregnant through one night stands and so on, but I'm sure the number of pregnancies in partnerships would be greater. It would also solve the problem of men not getting enough paternity leave as it is.

Then it is the job of the parents to stop that happening. If a little kid got behind the wheel of a car there might be trouble, but it is up to parents to prevent that.

One of my current assignments is in C++ with OpenGL, needless to say we've been thrown in at the deep end with absolutely NO experience in C++ or OpenGL. Fortunately most of it just involved editing code though. I've also found a utility which can translate .obj models into the C++ code for OpenGL so I can use them in my program, which is pretty cool. It isn't sexist, the same as it isn't racist to point out that such a person has dark skin. It is just an observation. Do men and women deserve equal opportunities within reason? Yes. That one's pretty clear cut. The 'within reason' qualifier is there because there ARE certain things that different sexes are better suited for - as a mother is, on average better suited to being a midwife, a man is, on average, better suited to being a construction worker.

Sorry to be a killjoy: Most break-ins aren't targeted against any person. Just a house with valuable stuff inside. You said it yourself - it's not a nice neighbourhood. Poorer security, fewer people to notice a break-in. I suppose you could carry a kitchen knife with you to make yourself feel better. Then again it would probably be taken from you in a fight and used against you.
