Rockstar acquires and renames other studios. They are separate development houses in two different parts of the world.

Erm, I think you'll find that Bully was developed by Rockstar Vancouver (formerly Barking Dog Studios) - it is Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design) that does the GTA games.
  4. It's a website and an IRC channel. It is generally a place to socialise for some of the less idiotic users on tipit, though that isn't what it was created for originally. It is a very small, close-knit community. Some like to advertise their membership, others don't. Whilst it isn't invite-only in theory, if an idiot joins up they will be made to feel most unwelcome - not necessarily by the staff, but by the users.
  5. I think 4 was the last decent one, with every game since being a huge focus-group-knows-what-will-appeal-to-teenagers endeavour. In the last few it has been so obvious that it has been focus groups deciding what teenagers like, it is like your parents trying to be 'hip' - plain embarrassing. Not to mention that they're all ad-fests now.
  6. For me it is: FF > Opera > IE This is mainly due to their interfaces. I just thing firefox's interface is so much simpler than either of the others.
  7. That's precisely my point... Either way it is infinite.
  8. How do you think a victim of a horrible crime will feel when they discover that all society wants to do is try and make the criminal a better person? Not delivering appropriate punishment for a crime severely reduces any deterrent, being caught becomes a minor inconvenience.

I don't think even that would work. At least here you are under your parents control until you are 18. That is, unless you can prove they are mistreating you.
  10. One of the aims of sentencing in English law is retribution. I for one think that it is an important part of punishment. It does make sense from a logical point of view because it is part of human nature to want revenge. That is why prisons exist, as opposed to reprogramming & brainwashing centres for the condemned.
  11. Wow, my mum just sent me an email containing this:

Tell him why you want to stay. Hope he changes his mind. Other than that you're stuck, he holds all the cards. That's life. I got moved when I was in school and it didn't kill me, in fact I'm very glad it happened.
  13. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but here's a copy and paste from wikipedia:
  14. You just did. You admit it has an edge, at which you get teleported to the other side. That means there must be something outside that edge, which you get teleported away from before you reach. If not, then the universe is infinite. It is either finite and has something outside, or infinite.
  15. We did. I made one out of a jumper, two pairs of tights and lots of newspaper. He was strapped to a child's chair. We beat him pretty extensively before mounting him on the pyre.
  16. 20,866 tracks - 1632 hours / 2+ months / 9 weeks / 68 days - 100GB+
  17. What happens when you get to the edge of space then? What's outside it?
  18. There are, and always will be, people who try to hold back the development of medicine. From back in the days when it was illegal to dissect cadavers (and medical pioneers stole them) to the people protesting stem cell research and animal testing today. One thing that time has shown is that these barriers are always overcome.
  19. It also attempts to charge for extensions.
  20. I don't know when they last changed, but I do know that the rules have been modified in my time here. It is a little difficult to know when the main forum rules are modified for a couple of reasons: 1. I don't ever visit the forum index. I go directly to the forums I want to view by changing the f=90/whatever parts of the URL. I don't know how many other people do this, but I'd imagine some do. Anyway, that's not the main reason for this suggestion. 2. The rules topic is just edited. There aren't any new posts in it so they don't show up in the index. So I think it would be good if, when the rules were modified, an admin made a global announcement to...announce it. That way we could all know when there were new rules to adhere to as opposed to being accidentally found in contravention of them without our knowing of their existence. Creating this occasional global announcement may even encourage some people to read the rules for the first time, you never know. One could say "you should regularly check the rules", but in reality how many users do this. On top of that, how much effort is it for 100,000 users to check the rules weekly compared to 1 admin taking 5 minutes to post an announcement. What's more, the rules don't even change particularly often. Another suggestion would be to highlight new modifications to the rules in another colour. When the next modifications are made highlight those, whilst returning the previous modification to the standard colour. The new part of the rules could also even be included in the global announcement.
  21. Excellent, thanks very much Albosky. I'll let him know when I see him online then we can see if it works.
  22. Tell me you don't mean with a toy plane.
  23. Do it in a spreadsheet then either host the file, export it to a .pdf or take a screenshot of it.
  24. That's what I don't understand. There are so many people who say "weed isn't as bad as alcohol so it should be legal" and think that it is clear as day that it needs to be legalised. They just don't realise that it would be just as logical, if not moreso, to illegalise both.
  25. That's nothing compared to the love a man has for a good bacon sandwich.
