  1. I just remembered the biggest one ever. One day my dad was talking about computer viruses and I asked what they were. "They're things that damages computers, and like human viruses, they can spread pretty quickly." By that, I thought computer viruses can come inside of humans too. :ohnoes: Since then I took all precautions to avoid getting a computer virus.

The producer, director, and writer of my own film. Ha, take that ego-full producers!
  3. Ahhh, I get it now. That answer is simple: money, money, and money. Land = money. For every new provience the Roman Empire got, they got a butload of money and slaves. Killing the Aztecs made Cortez and Spain wealthy. As Napoleon's war machine crossed through Europe he made France rich. This ended durning the 1800s and especially in WWI. With new warfare techology and methods, land gain wasn't as large as before. Trenches, machine guns, tanks, air combat made attacking very difficult and risky. So now you're wasting money on tanks and war machines but don't get profit in return since the taxes of ten acres isn't going to do you any good. In the modern age and 21st century, war is outdated and inefficent. Countries have their land and should focus on keeping it, being on defence instead of attacking.
  4. The less you use, the more money you save when the bills come in. Thats my motivation to be honest.
  5. Oh, I also forgot to add that its concidered honourable if the attacker tells the defending country that he is going to attack and 'declear war'. Of course, its not nessecary but a mere honourable thing. I think during Pearl Harbor the Japanese declearation of war didn't make it to the US in time which made the Americans even more angry. I'm not sure though.
  6. My parents did that with me too, except it was for tieing my shoes.

Hell, I already am concidered a racist by some over-reacting white people because I say some jokes... But who cares? Comedy is comedy and if some ignorant anti-racist guy overhears me he can't really attack me on it. I did say the joke to my friend not you. I only say racist jokes with people I know don't mind them; it'll be kinda stupid coming to my future boss and saying "Whats up whitey?" But to my white friend it'll be ok since he knows I'm not racist.
  8. In theory, the President has to ask Congress. The people never have a say in it (unless through violence)... But in reality, if the President has a strong group of loyalists he can kill all Congress and declear a dictatorship. But thats going too far. A system for making war? Haha. There is no international law, so a country can make war if it wants to, even the US. Now weither the people will put up with it, is a different matter. Such as in 1917 Russia, Lenin (64 :P ) led a revolution against the Czar. But usually if the people are safe and happy, there won't be a revolt; like in the US. Bush can take another presidental term and no one would really revolt against it. Why die if you have it alright? With the soviets, they had nothing so why not die for a possibility for a better future? Keep the people happy, have some sort of secret police, and you (as a dictator) can do what ever you want.
  9. So you both don't love each other but do like each other... Am I the only one failing to see the problem here?
  10. I thought if I somehow went close to those red lights (used to avoid planes from crashing into a building) I would be sucked into another dimension with scary monsters. :ohnoes:
  11. Which suprises me about TIF. :? Get the Christians in here! :ohnoes:
  12. Wii = a computer. Stop being techical. -.- This doesn't surpise me... My regards are for the parents and friends. RIP I guess.
  13. Typically people hate movies and perfer books because they're compairing what sells in the cinema to complex books like War and Peace or something. Movies are damn expensive to make, and so the people making them will choose whatever sells the most. (Unneeded drama, horrible comedy, sex, etc). Not all books are god, and not all movies are crap neither. Now, if we have two people both with an unlimitless amount of money and each of them is going to tell a story; one via a book and the other via a film. Both can be as long as they want (56 hour movie for all I care or 64000 page book) Depending on what the story is about, one side will be better to tell. Say a war story, with lots of battle, would be better situated in a film since the battles will be really visual. A story with emotional problems and such would be better in a book, where the author can reveal the characters' thoughs and feelings without them talking outloud like a madman in the movie. It depends on the story and the quality of the creator. The only problem with movies now is that the producers will make things that sells because it takes too much to make, and a book doesn't nessesarily have to do that. And of course, other things would be better told through a song or a picture. This is why I like plays/scripts...both movies and books in one. :D
  14. They span all over the place, from 10,000 years before the Battle of Yavin to 5000 into the future. Just pick something intresting to you and start there. Favorite movie: The Empire Strikes Back FTW Favorite Scene: The Battle of Yavin (Death Star battle in Episode IV) Favorite Jedi: Luke Skywalker...closely followed by Obi Wan Favorite Sith Lord: Darth Vader Favorite EU piece: I haven't read much EU, but I do like the New Empire after Episode VI.
  15. You guys are missing the point: both books and movies are literature. Just in different forms just like poems and plays. They all can tell a point, but differently. But back to the topic... the RS book seems a tad too much for me at the moment. If it ever becomes placed in a library I'll certainly take a read.
  16. umm... what reason do you have for wanting to have one? That was a seriously stupid question. And the answer in netspeak didn't really help your image either, to be honest. I'm guessing it's the usual reasons. Like support, someone you can tell your real feelings to without applying a rose-colored reality distortion field, an excuse to get away from your siblings, etc. The way he said it, it was more like fun time and not for the 'support' stuff.
  17. Hmm, I went to the north of Edgeville and saw no revenants. Do they just appear/roam randomly throughout the wilderness or something?
  18. World 99 of course! When I'm F2P its 101.
  19. Hello guys, I haven't been playing RuneScape for the last six months before the Trade Changes and just got back. I was wondering how to protect yourself while RCing through the wilderness. I know players can't attack you but I've seen several RCers still wear dragonhide. Are the abyssal monsters stronger or no? Bascially, what are the dangers in RCing though the abyss now?
  20. By weird, do you mean like names with reasonable grammar "Pasta Cheif/Fudgewartz/Upside64" or complete randomness? "Frks5/Ykkper/99wcpls"? My defintion of weird would be like the latter, but names like the first are not 'proper rl names' but names.
  21. "Def noob!" That my friend, is why. Most players have a hard time concidering something else other than strength. Its common noob stuff so just ignore 'em.
  22. Because of the large demand of them. Back then, when I played, you could sell 1k nats for 300k and you would almost instantly get an alcher whos interested. But anyway, I was shocked to see nats 250 each...I remember nats always being 300 ea, maybe rising up ten or twenty gold at times, but 250? Holy cabbage! At those who hate RC because its a huge money maker: NEWSFLASH. Get 44/54 RC then. but nowdays with 50gp+ more profit per rune and the g.e making selling easier, it baffles me why so many people stick to natures, it seems plain ignorant to me. I always trained on the highest rune available to me, laws brought me much more money than nats and quicker leveleing, and deaths to the same effect now. I was talking about in 2007/2006, I haven't been playing for the last six months so I can't speak about current times. I know I'm switching to laws when I get back into members, lol.

  24. Your time will come, young padawan. I totally forgot if I posted on this thred or not... if not, then I haven't had one yet. But maybe very soon...
