  1. It depends on what you consider to be better, and really, i'm in the process of finding out. If you go by your first statement, ranging is definitely better for you.
  2. Why not smelt AND superheat? it's both cheaper and faster xp than just superheating.
  3. Yeah, i've been testing out different ranging methods there lately, saw you there again today, too bad there are only 1-2 decent servers at any one time... But anyway, i highly doubt sighted mage long+ rune arrows is the best there as karils is both faster with a higher ranged strength, while ranged accuracy isn't tremendously important as traditional range void is better than armadyl. I'm guessing that diamond bolts+chaotic xbos+void(deflector) is actually the very best method, but i'm currently in the process of finding out.
  4. Bingo! You just made Pulli's point :-) Pyramid schemes are run by scammers and are illegal. So is stealing and murdering, y'know? <_<
  5. It's irrelevant. Producing gp is what you are talking about, and neither method is good for that. Also you can look at merchanting as a pyramid scheme- you gradually make yourself toward the top, losing money as you start out and gaining money once you are near the top, and there will always be players starting out from the bottom. This way, merchanting is just an effective way of distributing wealth to those who can use it better. And yes, it is a moneymaker, and yes, it's the most efficient moneymaker in the game. You ignoring it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just as the fact that you don't have 85 dungeoneering doesn't mean frost dragons don't exist.
  6. O aren't ya smart... But then again- runecrafting, boss hunting(including frost dragons) and not even hunter are moneymakers(they don't produce gp) so from that perspective, you are ever so much more wrong.
  7. Merchanting is a legit way of making money and has been for the ages, if you refuse to do it, you are more than welcome to, but when calculating efficiency, don't give me **** about runecrafting- it's not an efficient moneymaker. Hunter is also a better moneymaker than runecrafting, btw.
  8. Pulli, maybe you are just rubbish at moneymaking and lets leave it at that? If you consider yourself elite and can't merchant(easy 10m an hour+) you are a laugh. Combat isn't the best moneymaker in the game, and if you refuse to merchant that's your own stupid problem. The elite diaries are not skiller or combat based but meant for all around ''elite'' players.
  9. It doesn't necessarily mean a price drop, rather that the price will continue it's rise for a ~~ long time and after being too high(~800-1000M) be dumped on the ge(they are more or less bought out, remember) resulting in them being really bad junk for the next ~year after that.
  10. Actually, the biggest required skills are 96 fishing and 91 runecrafting in terms of how difficult they are to achieve, and those cater largely to skillers. While no combat based character will have 91 runecrafting(once the best moneymaker, remember) and 96 fishing, the skillers really shouldn't consider themselves elite without 92 herblore and 95 prayer- the fact that those cost money is no reason for skillers to not train them, being unable to make alot of money without combat, afterall, is not a sign of being elite(particularly nowadays, other people actually used to bury bones for their prayer xp and had to go to the market and communicate with people in order to buy or sell anything).
  11. Most if not all people here with a rapier agree that the longsword is somewhat better at bandos and sara gwd, as well as being almost identical or minimally better at TD's. Nothing new. If you say that the rapier is a little(around 10-15%) better than cls for slayer, but what about the CLS? if 10-15% is little, what is 5%? marginally? You haven't posted anything new and are stupid in your arguments(hence the ''in the same time'' reference, as you didn't mention any timeframe, 5 kills more every 10 hours would be rubbish, 5 kills every 10 minutes would be incredible, an infinite amount more kills in an infinite amount of time would be...normal.
  12. I really wouldn't ever consider getting defense up if it's only for slayer- the rank 2 slayer is only 53 defense and evidently, does just fine. Getting that high stats without decent defense is already hard enough, no reason to ruin it for little gain.
  13. You don't need to be maxed combat, but it'd be inefficient not to be maxed as it cuts the number of hourly kills considerably, overloads are a must because they allow you to carry ~3 times more food with you. The main reason, however, why you need to be maxed is that the other people that kill corp are all maxed, and as anyone can see from dungeoneering, maxed people don't want to team with random low(<130) levels.
  14. O aren't ya smart...too bad you can't read. By the way, i get an unlimited amount of more kills with rapier than i would with cls in the same time. The ''not much difference'' approach only shows how little you know.
  15. I've lately been researching the effectiveness of ranged at the dragons as i believe it has the potential to be the best overall class for killing the dragons in terms of being the easiest and most relaxing way of killing the dragons. So far i've established that zamorak bow with zamorak arrows is absolutely terrible there as the elemental damage is barely noticeable. I've also tested the usefulness of armadyl vs. void range(traditional) and normal prayers(+15%) vs. curses(leech ranged and defense), the results of which you can see below: Zbow Zarrow Void 15% 165 bone 898 arrow 85 300 xp Karil Rack Void 15% 184 bone 1296 rack 101 600 xp Karil Rack Void 5% 184 bone 1197 rack 97 700 xp Karil Rack Armadyl 15% 181 bone 1278 rack 96 800 xp All 4 tests were around 62 minutes long using overload potions. I tried to use luring as little as possible in order to better differentiate between the different classes, so those numbers can't accurately be used for kills an hour, but should give a general understanding of how effective each method is. Even though frost dragons don't have a range level to leech i tested curses anyway because deflect curses deal damage and leech defense decreases targets defense, but overall i'd say that normal prayers are still somewhat better for the lesser drainrate and increased xp. Void is almost always better than armadyl but not by much. I'm still looking to do quite a bit more testing for ranged at the dragons to find the most efficient method out there, however, as i haven't yet bothered with conquest i can't test out one handed weapons just yet, so if anyone has any help on how to gain 1250 rank in conquest easily, let me know. I will also be testing out the hand cannon there as soon as i finish the quest needed for it as i see it having good potential there. The one handed weapons that i'm looking to test out are rune knives, rune crossbow+diamond bolts, rune crossbow+broad bolts and obsidian rings. If anyone has any other ideas on what methods to test out there, please let me know. Oh,also, some more candy:
  16. Divine is a rare drop, so ofcource it's faster to make money in other ways. 540m would only take me around 135 hours to make, 2 weeks with 10h days, but you could solo corp for years without any luck with divine sigil. If you really plan on doing corp then you should first max out melee and get overloads and then get into some ~6 man corp team(there is a good guide on the general guides). Soloing is also a possibility but you'd need to be great at combat for it to work well(at around ~6 corp an hour).
  17. Just as proof, drumgun isn't hypocritical about the crashing situation- he freely changed servers at frost dragons today when i was already there. I also really like the approach that he is taking in ranging frost dragons as it's nearly as good as melee(doing research on it right now) and offers around equal ranged and prayer xp rates(assuming he altars his own bones), could finally lead to the first person to actually ''max out'' combat, aswell as somewhat cure his lack of slayer xp. I don't, however, approve of his msb+armadyl approach :ohnoes: . Also, i don't really support the easy xp argument- the xp other top players have over the rest is money in the bank- it can't be taken away from them, and even if other people will remain gaining xp, they will still have the lead for a very long time- look at gert- he has been inactive for quite some time, but boxing him out of the top 5 still takes more than a couple of months, with other mostly training easy skills. The xp might be easy, but the difference of some of the hard skill xp rates isn't ridiculously higher than for some of the easy skills(100k agility, 65k mining+60k smith+55k magic or 230k thieving). Overall, i think that the hardest xp all these competitors will have to gain is either runecrafting(but only around 100m of it due to effigies) or fishing(as they will have maxed magic/fletching by that time).
  18. You more or less need to be maxed melee with overloads for corping. 84 melees might get you into the lowest of bottomfeeders cs mass, but certainly not a half decent team. Corping specifically for a divine sigil really isn't a great idea unless it's your extremely-long-term goal, as in you want to own it in a year or two, and by then you'd be better having made the money for it and buy it from the ge(at which time, it will likely have crashed). No matter which route you take, you will soon after be disappointing by the usefulness(or the lack thereof) of it- unless you have the luxury of having it(1,5+ times maxed cash) you shouldn't even consider getting it.

Waiting for what item to update? how did you make 24 mil like that? He's flipping. And don't expect good advice about it in here. People who are good at it don't share their secrets. I don't think you've got a general idea about flipping... Not sharing your secrets is a BIG part of being good at flipping. And really, ge updates don't matter alot for flipping, rather you'd camp the ge for specific bought out items(for example, santa hats) and sell them after they update again. As for you being able to make 1m an hour, there probably are loads, but the problem is, most of them don't give any experience.
  20. So, basically, if you've got a well timed divine sigil offer in, you'd be well served to buy out elixir/spirit shield, as the higher the price of those items gets, the safer your offer should be...
  21. And if CLS isn't, rapier must be... or was it maul? Overall, you shouldn't take TD's into consideration when choosing a chaotic weapon as they are almost impossible to differentiate from one another at TD's, ie, there is no clear favorite.
  22. Melee is alot faster, mage is clearly the slowest combat class.
  23. relatively safe isn't nearly as good as next to completely safe. It's interesting that you'd go to the bathroom, do your thing and get back in 36 seconds, and some would say downright impressive, but very much stupid. Stupid for not going to the bathroom before a trip and not being able to not go to the bathroom in a 100 minute period. University will/should/could be hard for you. elite clues usually take between 20 and 30 minutes, mostly because there is never an exact thing you have to do, and considering no experience, very bad to do. But still, one of the main reasons i would never camp DKs is that there is no charms or effigies, and that really lets them down. Also, why are we arguing DK's/frosts/TD's on this topic? rapier is the best(or tied for the best) for all of them anyway...
  24. elite clues are a near non-factor as doing them hurts your hourly profits. As for you being really bad at killing rex, well, i'm sorry to hear that, but for me, on task, all mage boosts, it rarely takes more than 20 seconds, which i doubt is enough to go to the bathroom. For DKs to be better than frosts you need to cannon, and while cannoning you will, at some times, have atleast 2 kings on you, which means you will always have to worry about your hp, let alone staying alive. You will never have a fear of death at frosts. If you die at DK's, your 10m+ solely depends on a bunch of random people, where as for frosts, if such an event should occur(and it'd be extremely rare), you'd easily get back in time to get everything back. Deaths at DK's are quite common. As for frost dragons being packed, it's more or less a myth by those that don't actually kill the dragons. Seriously, i've always killed them on the most full servers and never had to change servers more than once, usually staying on the server i came on. Can't say that at all for DK's. Not to mention banking.
  25. Aquanites are terrible for charms.
