You could be better off training another skill and training smithing NOT on the weekend with SC tools.

Overloads are better. You stay at maxed stats, and they take the same amount of room as Extreme Att/Str/Range. You also get free defence, and should you need to brew (e.g. a crasher lures 5 demons to you) you don't have to repot.
