27-May-10 Castle wars improvements
Kinda feel bad for all the people who used to run aroud in their gold armour...so did it jut disappear altogether? Or is it an untradeable discontinued item? Would be hilarious if Jagex made the pieces tradeable

The death of dungeoneering?
Summoning has a use outside of 1 place. I was sarcastically commenting on how it was NOT like others.

25-May-2010 - The Elemental Workshop III
Agreed, I don't like the start where it looks like you're charging up dbz style or soemthing. I would preferr the old hang time over the new shininess. EDIT: That aside, it's still one of the bad assest emotes.

Solo TDs/Solo Sara GWD
You can kill TDs without claws, it's just significantly slower. To my limited knowledge, ranging is most common at sara, so unless you want to take a d bow(or zgs possibly) spec restores would not be much use in that case.

Comparative Profits
Ok, so that is 12 Bandos kills per 30 minute trip, and 10 arma kills per 40 minute trip. Would anyone else like to confirm or dispute those numbers? If not, average equipment cost estimates would be nice, and I'm still looking for average trip length and kill count for sara and rex if anyone here has some experience with either of those two, but if not personal testing will eventually be done for all scenarios.

What's the point of body?
It's a generally useless reward from a relatively difficult quest, so no, you are not missing anything.

Comparative Profits
I've been killing TD's a lot recently, and after seeing how horribly ineffiicent killing the corporeal beast is, I've been considering what sort of profits are to be expected in other areas of the game. So I have a few questions, and most of the information in this topic is completely irrelevant for you and will be used for personal referrence, so please skip the rubbish and read the questions near the bottom. You probably don't care about this =Tormented Demons= Based on my numbers I've been getting 25 kills per 54 minute(life span of pony) trip, so basically 25 kills per hour being generous with banking time. While consuming 230 or so broad bolts, 6 prayer potions, 40 or so unicorn scrolls, 1 extreme range, attack, and strength, 1 pony pouch, and 1 poh tab for a total trip cost of 141.68k at May 26, 2010 prices. My dismal drop rate has been 1:388 for claws and 1:333 for ruined pieces. 25 Kills/hr 141.68k Cost/hr Average Profit per kill from main drops =~ 1/333 * 3.84m ~ 11.52k from lumps 1/388 * 36.35m ~ 93.68k from claws =105.20k on average So 2.63m minus 141.68k = 2.49m on average from big drops with my past rates. =Graardor= I've seen 1/150-200 rate tossed around pretty often for hilts, so I will use 1/150 to give an edge to a newer experience. Using Tlin's log and the above number I get 1:34(graardor spawns) as the chance to get any of the armour pieces assuming each piece has an equal chance to be dropped. 24 Kills/hr ?? Cost/hr Average Profit per kill from main drops =~ 1/150 * 23.09m ~ 153.93k from hilt 1/34 * 16.25m ~ 477.84k from armour (using average price of armour) =631.77k on average =Kree'ara= Same deal as bandos, but with a slightly lower armour drop rate(presumably from fewer minions being killed). 15 Kills/hr ?? Cost/hr Average Profit per kill from main drops =~ 1/150 * 89.90m ~ 599.33k from hilt 1/33 * 12.23m ~ 370.71k from armour (using average price of armour) =970.04k on average =Zilyana= Similar to the others, but now just swords instead of 3 armour items. Which interestingly enough have a similar droprate of 1/32(per spawn including minions). ?? Kills/hr ?? Cost/hr Average Profit per kill from main drops =~ 1/150 * 61.60m ~ 410.67k from hilt 1/32 * 8.90m ~ 278.13k from swords =688.80k on average =Rex= Well, bit harder to find a rate here...but I stumbled across one log of 1608 kills which is decent enough for rough estimates in my opinion. This guy recorded 12 axe drops, 11 warrior rings, and 19 berserker rings. Also with a yak we're guaranteed bones and hides every kill. ?? Kills/hr ?? Cost/hr Average Profit per kill from main drops =~ 1/134* 2.00m ~ 14.93k from axe 1/147 * 521.10k ~ 3.54k from warrior ring 1/85 * 4.90m ~ 57.65k from berserker ring 3.34k - 450 = 2.89k from hides 13.10k - 450 = 12.65k from bones =91.66k on average START READING HERE Ok that is a lot of text which for all intents and purposes is completely irrlevant to answering the questions which I am going to ask, which are... How long does kc take on average for bandos/arma/sara? How many solo kills are expected on average assuming best buyable gear(no ely/divine) and stats below for bandos/arma/sara? How long does a solo trip generally last at bandos/arma/sara? How long on average does preparation+running through waterbirth take on average? How many solo mage kills using best method/gear with the stats below can be expected pe trip? How long on average does a solo mage trip last? Well that is a lot of questions, feel free to completely ignore or answer any/all of them.

The death of dungeoneering?
Hm...so it sounds like all of the people who decided to wait out n see what batch 2 would bring are getting screwed over... To those saying it fizled out like every other skill, every time I'm at c wars I still see kyatts and graahks popping in and out. So it looks like summoning and rc have managed to escape that fizzling ailment for a significantly longer period of time. Same with monkeys at atoll.

GE Centre
Wow, thank you for taking the time to read and implement a suggestion in such a short time.

GE Centre
The new GE centre is extremely nice even by my overly [wagon] holish standards, but two thingsinstantly struck me as needing some improvement, and both relate to the search bar. I have no idea what would be necessary to implement this, but a "narrow down" system like Jagex's in game GE search which checks the entire item name as opposed to just the beginning would be a welcome update, but I have no idea what sort of work would be required to implement such a trivial feature. More importantly, it is a bit difficult to switch items after selecting one, adding a search bar at the top of individual item pages to switch the main item as opposed to adding secondary items is in my opinion, needed. Of course you could simply hit the back button or your button enar the top, but a search bar would be slightly better. All around, I have to again say that the GE Centre is VERY nice and I would not be at all suprised if Jagex ends up stealing your database ideas to update their own messy system.

Monkey Madness musing
I didn't think it was hard but I almost impaled my monitor with the mouse when that damn thing kept burrowing arround... The only really difficult quest in my opinion was ME2, even after I gave up and used a guide it still took a couple hours.

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
I would definately save the necklace over a plate  I'm not even lvl 50 yet and I've been getting along just fine with just a kat/gorg helm+legs in most cases with the RARE gorg chain, I don't see any reason that i would need more permanent defense. But increased offense is always nice  By the way, about what floor do the things that drop these pop up? and what slayer level?

I fail
27.63k Everyone who's rate is higher than mine is obviously cheating somehow, and to everyone lower, nanny nanny boo boo.

Rune crossbow, really the best?
I never understood the fascination with abandoning accumulators with the crystal bow. The arrows are what 70 each? And there is no way to change that, while with broads at 90 or so each you have the option to let them fall on the ground in the same way or pick them up/use accumulator and decrease their cost. Besides having a more aesthetically pleasing runescape world I don't see how using a cape with the crystal bow is better than with collectable ammo. Also, if it weren't for the arrow counting annoyance I'm sure that several more people(myself included) would use crystal bows, but I personally find it annoying as hell to even recharge barrows and the only piece that I ever use is a v helm...not looking forward to chaotic weapons...

If memory serves, torstol make zam brews. Remember torstols were not added to the game with the update for overloads like wergali were for fletching potions. EDIT: It looks like the falling wergali price is making crowns spike up for some reason...at least temporarily.

They wouldn't crash so soon. Spirit sheilds are the best sheilds in game, and you have to be a decent level or have high lsp just to get one. Spectral is super useful at arma, arcane is usefull at bursting lobs/DK maging. Elysian removes 25% of the damage 70% of the time, and divine removes 30% of the damage all the time. Hard to get really owned with that bonus. I see them as similar to Godswords - they won;t crash for awhile, but when it comes it will be big. Didn't they crash around when they hit around 300m? Seem to have recovered quite nicely.

Chaotic is better than Divine/Elysian
I tried to explain this earlier you can not avg ely's soak ability off a scale bigger then 1 which means there is no such thing as an average percentage of how much dps i can soak its will always be 25% 70% of the time not 17.5% 100% of the time. The code/algorithm in place is based off each individual hit not over a X amount of hits/damage taken. Therefore saying it takes off 17.5% 100% of the time will either make it sound worse or better then it really is for that fact you have a 70% chance each time you take damage not 70% of the next 100 times you take damage 25% percent of those 100 hits will be reduced. It is only based off each hit and the "dice" is thrown again for the next time. Which could mean 100/100 of the next hits could be reduced by 25% or 0/100 of the next hits could be reduced trying to average out something that can be averaged is just misleading. .... On average, 70% of the times that you get hit the effect will activate. When you get hit, there is an equal chance for you to get hit for anything between 0 and the max. So over time, you will get hit for every possible hit a similar number of times. So the 70% will account for 70% of the total damage with an infinitely large sample size, and 25% of that will be ignored. So if 25% of 70% is ignored, then 17.5% is ignored over time. You saying that more or less could be ignored is...obvious. That usually happens with any percentage wth a non infinite sample size, and since there never is an infinite sample size, that usually happens, but over time you tend toward whatever the percentage is. EDIT: All of that is assuming that the elysian effect only affects hits and not misses...which could be wrong...but I would think that coding the effect would make more sense if they had it check for a miss first, then again I have no idea if they actually did.
