  1. When I saw the quick chat update for curses that raised my hopes...but the lack of a fix to the run lag from curses after so long makes me think that they dismissed the idea  Nothing else really affects me, so let's see about this new quest eh? EDIT: It really is sad that such an interesting little item like the bullroarer which has been around for ages has been ruined by a few idiots...
  2. I have no idea what you're referring to in the bolded part. I think that he is referrencing the glimpse of the dragonkin around that table at the end of While Guthix Sleeps. I still never understood exactly how our character was seeing that...
  3. No, it's not free/profitable training; you always have to consider the opportunity cost of just selling the herbs instead of making pots, in other words you are just not seeing the bigger cash pile that you would have otherwise. Actually, he is essentially spending some of his profits from farming to train herblore, while still ending in the black. You should think of the two actions independently, and to my knowledge, herb farming is a very efficient means to make money.
  4. The *best* option in my opinion is magic potions. They're around 26 gp/xp if you add the herbs yourself, 30ish with unf pots. I would suggest unf. I would not even consider attack, energy or prayer potions... they may be cheap, but the best among those(energy) are nearly 60 less experience per potion, and using magics will save you about 3k mixings over the levels that you want to train.
  5. I tried barbarian fishing, and I have no interest in trying it again, so an approximate average value would be nice to see. During the lifespan of one granite lobster(47 minutes) at 77 fishing, I received 25,590 xp(32,668 xp/hr) including the foraged fish. I'm using another lobster at the moment.
  6. What are the average fishing experience rates at Piscatoris and Shilo Village, respectively?
  7. I agree. Colours matter only for those who like to be stylish and that's usually players who don't do combat. Original colour>new colours i say. Hope a better weapon than Whip will be released, that won't be slow and 2H. Horse hockey. Several people like to kill and look sexy while doing it, but do you honestly believe that this tiny idea actually consumed any considerable development time? I'd think that people would give Jagex a little mroe credit than that...
  8. I disagree with this. I think that leech attack+defense+strength are better than turmoil(no turmoil experience obviously), because (assuming nomad is maxed), your accuracy will be greater with leeches do to the 10% boost to attack along with the 25% decrease in his defense, you will also supposedly take less hits. Your strength would be lower, though.
  9. It only takes much longer to unlock, but I'm assuming it is fille dup at the same rate. However, it takes MUCH MUCH longer to unlock...and you cannot be filling up your normal horn while unlockign it.
  10. By the way for Tds, I would advise against taking more than one pony/titan per trip. Longer trips only serve to hurt you when banking is so fast, and you will end up fighting for spaces(bring alchs by the way). Also, you will need to bring another pure set/range potion or go without for half of the trip if you double the length, and that will seriously slow down your kills or decrease your profit.
  11. Wioneo supports this message. The lack of creativity helps me get my cape back more quickly though, so I can't really complain :-#
  12. Suppose me barely paying attention at all while playing made me miss this  does it happen more than once?
  13. The second article was without a doubt the best article that I have read from the times, and I don't really agree with the first article, but I need to go "read" a book and "study" so i'll leave it to someone else to list the reasons why.
  14. I got it on my first try with a yak full of brews, sgs specs, soul split, and leeches, and iron titan/titan specs after the cow was cashed out. I don't see how people are doing this "easily" since I used every single brew and finished with 80ish hp. Suppose I did not die to get a good idea of his average hits though...
  15. No summoning is pretty much useless in pvp. Most people worth killing will avoid fighting someone with a bob, and fighters are useless. Even if they weren't useless, I'm betting that you and your pet will end up outnumbered if your in multi. The ONLY familiar that I can think of as having a use in PVP is the wolpertinger for the extreme mage pot.... They are also good for jacking up your cb level a bit to avoid lower leveled gits while you dont want to be PVPing in PVP.
  16. Elysian and Divine took a major hit in street price lately. They are not selling for partyhats and are barley getting away with being traded for edibles. I have yet to sell an Ely or Divine sell for straight cash with junk added so don't get your hopes up there. What you can try to do is get a disk or two eggs (approx what an ely is worth) for cash (junk added to the edibles ofc) and trade for an elysian that way. Expect to pay roughly 550-600M for the elysian or try to get lucky in the GE. About time div/ely dropped. Rares are one thing to be unbuyable in ge (thus forcing you to use street merching to work your way up to them), but it does urk me that to obtain these amazing shields, one either has to street merch their way up or actually corp. imo ely/div should be updating in ge more. I bet that if they became lendable and were actually seen in use more often the price would drop significantly.
  17. Did I miss out on 24 hours somewhere, or am I the only one wondering why they did not hide the reward in spoilers?
  18. It is only a matter of time until either 1) Jagex decides to put an end to "mints" by either making them non-tradeable or making them easily obtainable from other sources. 2) Merchants get bored with mints and decide to create some new "bargaining chip" item. 1.) Absolutely no reason for Jagex to make them non tradeable for any reason. None of the other Gnome Delivery Mini game items are non tradeable, so no reason why mint cakes should be. I would lulz if you could make them for cooking though, lol. "Level 95 cooking update: Make Mint cakes with wheat, eggs, milk, and mint leaves that cost 10gp each in a store" 2.) Why...? It has a high street price because it's a fairly rare item from Gnome Delivery, and that's it. Even if another item like it came out, it would still hold its street value. There are other "bargaining chips" in the market. Introduction of a new medium of exchange has never before destroyed another. Masks didn't kill 3rd age. 1. I seriously doubt that they would become untradeable, but Jagex increasing the rate at which you get them or introducing another source(mayeb a drop from a new monster after a quest?) sounds very likely. 2. There is already at least one item just like mints, grand tree seed pods(not sure if that was their name). They seem about as rare if not rarer than mints and are obtained in exactly the same way, yet they're only worth 5k or so.
  19. The omission hurt me on a personal level.
  20. That is an interesting theory.
  21. Me and the 2 dds splits that were neither hilts nor spears do not approve
  22. Lame...I'm on the list twice...wait...so I migth be double hacked! maybe the second hackign will reverse the first...
  23. There is nothing wrong with stretching the truth a bit with regard to subjective things in advertising if it helps attract more customers. As long as they don't say anything that is clearly not true at all. At least that is my personal opinion.
  24. Well it may have been stated already, but comparing the intangible effect of the ROW to the guaranteed increase of 4 damage per succesful hit is foolish. UNLESS, using abby demons for ease, Jagex decides to release the percentage per kill that the ROW increases your chance to get a whip along with the average drop rate of a whip, in which case we could calculate the chance of succesfully hitting an abby demon, and then use the attack speed of a whip to determine the number of succesful hits that occur on average on an hourly basis(for ease), and then multiply that number by 4, then divide by the hp of a demon to find the number of extra kills per hour from the ring, and then find the percentage that the ring increased your kill rate by, and then comparing that percentage with the hourly percentage increase in whip droprate calculated from the given value above, BUT, that is most likely never going to happen, so it is impossible to compare the two rings accurately. I'll be wearing my ferocious ring in the dungeon for that nice tangible boost, though. EDIT: Technically not impossible, but we would need ridiculously large sample sizes to get precise results, and I doubt that that much data will be collected in the near future.
  25. I like to use fighters for tasks like dusties, dags, suqahs, kalphites, velds(normal), and fire giants where you can counter the damage that you take with sgs specs along with tasks like spirit mages and black demons where you pray.
