  1. Merchanting can definitely be a good money-maker and I'm glad you've found something which works for you. For the record though, making 1mil in 3 hours can be done by runecrafting nats/laws/deaths - and you get xp for it!!
  2. Wow! and I was worried I might need help :D
  3. Wow, lots of stuff there and some that I do without thinking about it as well - distance from entrance to barrows chest is a good one, also tasks from Chaeldar [sp?] Can't believe that I_Mahatma_I hits zeroes anywhere lol, but I'll have to try that move a square thing... I hope that wasn't a hint albosky lol It was but not towards you or this post ~Albosky
  4. Inspired by Kryptic's thread on mystic robes helping the catch rate of Sharks (I believe a study is pending ), I got to wondering what other "odd things" people do through superstition or the placebo effect.. Personally, I always clear the Barrows chest room of all monsters before opening the chest - I very much doubt that this helps (other than increasing my kill count) but hey, it keeps me happy  More strange still, is that when using the healing effect of Guthan's I always like my character to be facing south  I'm absolutely positive this is me thinking I heal better that way and therefore noticing it more, but since it doesn't take too much effort I'll stick at it... Anyway, that's my soul bared... Anyone else? Or should I be getting help?
  5. lol very nice, liked the duel as well
  6. Yeah, prayer PvP doesn't work quite the same as against NPCs so you'd find yourself still getting TB'd/entangled. Personally I'd keep the prayer pot in your inventory and then use the following technique when attacked: 1) Sip prayer pot 2) Protect Item prayer (glory) 3) DROP pouches (except small) 4) Die happily whilst highlighting to abyss PK'er just how little they're going to get 5) Use your glory ammy to tele back to edgeville 6) Retrieve your dropped pouches (using tele grab if necessary) 7) Return to crafting runes having lost a mere 30 seconds or (my preferred approach) substitute 7) above with... 7. a) Get fully loaded go and find abyss PK'er, mage bow spec plus range from afar, run in DDS spec for KO - voila free mystic robes and some extra runes if you're lucky and they don't tele away .....
  7. Thanks, and yeah main reason is simply revenge and just to prove I can  *chuckles again* We need more of this. And remember, when you get 72 slayer, those wyvern bones are 200 exp each when grinded and ecto'd. :) *grin* I can't promise to keep dying - it could get expensive  Thanks for tip on bones though, might be more than just revenge afterall then!
  8. Woot thanks Leesters  And thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I'm sure I'm dumb enough to do something entertaining again in the future - I'll keep you posted!
  9. Warning: Long Post ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ well you were warned̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. OK, so it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s obvious, you walk along you see the sign and your brain starts to tell you to leave extra room so you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even accidentally touch it. Unfortunately your hand is now being guided by some mysterious force, your brain is screaming ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åit̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s wet! Leave it! Look at the sign noob̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  10. Another problem you'd find would be that the "suggested level" would be completely ignored. You'd find pk'ers (especially BAD pk'ers) would go onto the lower level worlds to try to take advantage. It might work if the worlds would only permit players within certain combat ranges to access them - this might have other possible advantages as well: High Level players would potentially have a world to go to where they aren't continually pestered by "noob" requests (side note before I get flamed - I'm not saying low level players are all noobs, just that most noobs are low levels :) ) Medium Level players would have potentially less threats in the wildy and might have the opportunity to fight things such as the chaos elemental without fear of being pk'd by players over 40 lvls higher Low Level players might find resources easier to obtain as although there would likely be more competition from similar levels the average skills are also likely to be lower. All of the above assumes "normal" skills vs. combat distribution and ignores pures and skill totalers. Personally, I can't see it happening and wouldn't use a world like that myself but hey, there's my $0.02 for ya.
  11. well there arent any offical drop rates, but jagex must have a system to determen the drops. So if there is a system then there is also a drop chance no it is just luck and nothing more then big luck like the wheel of fortune there is no way you know whast number comes out because u should always win then That might be true for the recipient of the chain, but certainly not true for the dusties that drop it. It might be as close as possible to "random" as to when they drop but it would still be within a defined numerical value. You cannot program "luck" so hence there has to be a drop rate.
  12. Guthans Spear is my best drop, also had: karils leather top karils coif ahrims hood veracs skirt dharocks great axe I still have all of them apart from the great axe which I sold to complete my guthans set
  13. I've seen quite a few people about the place training in them; craziest I've seen though was only a couple of days ago in Barrows the guy was only lvl 105 and was fighting Dharock in his crypt with NO PRAYER  Now that takes some steel sphericals!!
  14. lame comment. If you don't like it don't come - you won't be missed. On Topic: I'm in
  15. OT as this is barrows, but: Surely it would be better to superheat until you're full of addy bars, then bank, rinse and repeat...? Back on topic, no altar in Rott makes the bank less useful, shop is closer anyway and when I want to bank my goodies I'll go somewhere I can pray as well....
  16. PK'ing in general is clearly a major part of the game and anyone who doesn't like it simply doesn't have to go to wildy. The only contentious areas seem to be clues, abyss pk'ing and agility, so here's my 2 cents on those: On a clue 3/4 item don't attack anyone, and if there's someone nearby when you reach your location probably best to hop servers.. Agility - just what is the point? I mean really? Enjoy those bones won't you.. Abyss - I quite enjoy the challenge of pk'ers at the abyss and taunting them on my way to the mage. There are generally a few ways to avoid being pk'd there, my only grumble is that I've only ever seen one or two skilled pker's there. If I get attacked and know I'm going to die it's pray protect glory (I carry single shot prayer pot), drop medium and large pouch, edgeville tele, get changed and go hunt EDIT:having obviously picked my pouches back up :).... With only a handful of exceptions, every single "pker" at the abyss that i've gone back after has either run away (fair enuff if I fail to stop you) Or WORSE STILL tele'd.... So my opinion on abyss pk'ers is pretty low - usually because they're just not very good at it
  17. Whip is strong but I don't think overpowered: Arguments could be made for dharocks as well for strength training, and as the whip's main strength is against monsters it's quite easy to prevent it from being overpowered simply through the introduction of bigger stronger monsters...
  18. Welcome :) For the future you need to put questions like this in Help and Advice - otherwise your topic will be moved anyway or you'll just get flamed... Ok, Ahrims are mage robes from the Barrows, so you *could* go to Barrows and try and get them dropped. This is completely unpredictable and would probably take a very long time! In order to get a specific set of armour it's far easier to buy it off another player - Ahrims is currently going for around about 2-2.5mil (but do check prices before buying as they change quite quickly). Is it good? Yeah pretty much the best mage armour in the game, a lot of people use it as part of a hybrid set when pk'ing, you don't see too many people just wandering around in full set tho. What do you need? Keep going on that mage level - you need lvl 70 to wear ahrims, also you will need lvl 70 defense.
  19. You won't still be teleblocked - logging out then loggin back in cancels it. Hope that helps!
  20. I don't know if Panneto can confirm, but I seriously doubt that he's had many double or treble barrows drops in one run. If you notice from the inventory he's using noted prayers and sharks to prevent having to bank... Therefore, barrows items from previous runs will still be in his inventory when next barrows drop is received. As an aside though, still takes some courage to carry on with all the drops in your inventory! When I got my guthan spear drop I couldn't hit ecto fast enough - didn't want to tempt the lag gods =)
  21. Great topic swamp jedi, total: 13,815,121 cb: 9,605,705 = 69.5% A bit higher than i expected, but i do prefer combat to most skills...
  22. Theoretically I'm sure you're right but I'd pay RL money to see someone beat the 702 fight pit boss with lvl 1 defence
  23. Yes, over 600k members. 5 bucks a month. Someone do the math, because my calculator just broke. Over 3.6 million... every month. And he puts money back in the game. His updates are frequent and top quality. He spends a ton of money on staff. He never raises his prices. He supports player querries, and supports a game forum. He listens to the feedback of millions of players.. and acts on it. His development staff is huge. Hes dumping money back into the game, and its paying off by growth thats hard to believe. This guy is my hero. Can you imagine being a multi millionaire off of a computer game? That you invented? Thats as cool as runescape? Rofl this has got to be sum of the funniest stuff I heard in a long time. Andrew doesnt support player queries, he pays his staff to do it, and they are slack and pathetic at it *points to all the senseless bannings that have happened as of late*. Andrews a good man, but after him, the rest of Jagex are just power/money hungry people. Interesting first post torn souljah, but consider this: 1) To say that "Andrew doesn't support player queries" should be stating the obvious given how many players the game now supports. 2) To blanket all of customer support as "slack and pathetic" is quite some statement without anything to back it up. I'll come to your point about senseless bannings next 3) "Senseless Bannings" (1) are not the function of customer support. Added to this, one of the major complaints on this forum up until January (ish) was the number of autoers that were ruining the game - IMHO some sort of mass ban was required to resolve this situation 4) "Senseless Bannings" (2) Without knowing exactly what you're referring to I'm inferring quite a bit, but from examples I have seen on forums (established characters being banned for seemingly innocuous offences) I do have a lot of sympathy - I'g personally be gutted if I lost my account and hadn't breached any rule. I believe this is one area that customer support/ban appeals team needs to improve upon, but I'm sure that following mass bans, mass appeals are likely - hopefully therefore the situation will improve once this backlog has been resolved. Auto-replies to ban appeals IMO are unacceptable. 5) "Andrews [sic] a good man but...." I don't know him personally, I doubt that you do either, but the company is presumably being run in the manner in which he wishes (assumption based upon his position as CEO). Aside from charitable organisations most companies primary targets are around money-making (or revenue and profits to put it more accurately) therefore they wish to continue providing a service for which people are happy to pay money ergo it is in their best interests to try and resolve customer complaints. 6) My extra 2 cents: In addition to all of the above, I would fear for what sort of requests/complaints etc come through the mailboxes of Jagex customer support; imagine the sort of requests you get in game, i use an example from just last night: "Can you take me to Varrock?", "Err, You're in Varrock" "F U N00b" I'd lay decent money that more than one "phr33 st00f pl0x" request has made it into customer support... *puts soapbox away for now*
  24. err, off topic, but it's actually "definitely" on topic, rangers could do with a bit of an update to keep the balance due to low hits, and mages definitely do not need any more help :)
  25. ???? lol :D Its called leetspeak. Don't post just for post count, only post if you have information to add or if you are addressing your question. I'm answering your "???"andyourcallofstupidity. Post count owns you IRL. Perfectly acceptable question to raise bloodveld, leet speak is pretty pointless and you were clearly using it to draw the exact comment/question that it raised.... Though I agree with your point regarding it is obviously possible to get full gold. Rough translation of the "leet" x_bow is "is it possible to beat sheep shearer" still maintain that it's pointless though. Flame away bloodveld it's what you do best
