  1. I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It was pretty good, not quite as good as the hype would suggest, but still quite good. It was pretty insane, and at times a bit hard to follow, but not too bad. I liked how the story flowed though, as if you fell behind it wouldn't leave ya. It was written crazily, I can't imagine coming up with that screenplay. And the directing was great and really made the film flow well. Good acting in all parts. Good movie. Top 100, I'd say. Next week, part 2 of 2 of my "When comedians do Drama": I'll be watching Punch-Drunk Love. As for this weekend, we'll have to see what's out (probably won't go see MI:3, looks like it warrants a rental rather than going to movies). Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering (I know you weren't, don't lie!) I've now seen 39 of the top 50 imdb.com movies. Hope to make it to 45 in the not-to-distant future. There's about 5 on there that I prolly won't be able to rent/catch on TV, or don't want to see.
  2. I'd kill for that ability. Even if it drained my vitality. I hate being broughten down by the necessity to sleep. I waste half my life. But then, if I don't sleep, I'm tired. You're lucky. For me, that ability would be in my top 10 on my super-power wishlist. I think I made it sound better than it really is. It's nice in the way that I have a lot of energy and can concentrate for 2-3 days nonstop but after awhile I start to think weird things and everything starts to get kind of strange (hard to describe). I usually have to force myself to go to sleep for a few hours so things don't get too weird.Sounds awesome. You don't have to sleep, and you save money on hallucinogens.
  3. Yes. It's true. But for the record, they are a good band, just not like, the ultimate band ever like many people say (don't hurt me).
  4. I think you should feel lucky that A)You get rewards for doing good in school B)You can get a new piece of 100-200$ hardware when you broke yours C)You had one at all.
  5. I agree. Ditto. They are best than 95% of the bands, but they aren't the gods of rock as people usually say. Deep Purple and The Who are much better, IMO. ^^^^^^^^^Perfectly said.

  7. If you can't think for yourself how can you rate something? Would you care about people who rate something but they jut copy what somebody else sats? No? Then how can they be overrated. And what's up with that "proof" so, they one a Grammy (the Grammy's, the oscars of music if I'm not mistaken) for best album and they won a lot of nominations at the VIDEO awards. Well, you said that only people with poop for brains like them (that may or may not include the Grammy people), and you also said they were not well liked amongst critics, which is clearly false, since they won one of the biggest grammies...They've also achieved some of their greatest popularity for what I feel is some of there worst work. And that is my opinion. I listened to them all through the 90's, they were one of my favorite bands, and I was quite aware of the work. And they've pretty much kicked all their old fans in the backside, and went on to become make-up wearing, pop-spewing sell-outs, doing some of their least interesting work ever. And one of the reasons they're so popular is because they are over-exposed to the max (I was once at the movies talking about how they were sell-outs: the next 2 movie trailers had 2 Green Day songs in them). That's my opinion. I'd love nothing more than to say that I liked Green Day, because their old work is def some of the best in the 90's. But Recently...just no.
  8. Sarcasm? or are you actually asking someone to explain summit so obvious? Yea, I was actually wondering. Could you explain why they are overrated? For all I know they're a band that's only liked and hyped by people who've got poop for brains that don't even know what they like about the group. And they aren't very well liked amongst critcs and people that do know what they are talking about. I don't think they're seriously overrated, so I was wondering why everbody here does. Other than it's hip to bash Greenday. Most people have poop for brains. So what's your point? That doesn't mean they aren't rediculously over-rated, especially how the calibre of their music has gotten much worse since after Nimrod. (Thought Time of Your Life is also riduculously over-rated. Further, if this isn't proof that they are ridiculously over-popular...
  9. FRENCH BOND IS NOT A BOND. ... ... Anyway. I thought it was gonna be B/W. That would be sick (good!). It was looking awesome, then they settled for that lowsy, new-fangled, " Technicolor". It'll never last :|
  10. I enjoyed it. Way more than I enjoyed Reloaded. It was good. Not great, not bad.
  11. I hear dat. I heat dat. First two bands I thought of. Oh yeah, and now Fall Out Boy (a poll at my school to find the favorite bands came up like this: 1. Fall Out Boy 2. Panic at the Disco 3. Taking Back Sunday 4. Green Day 5. 50 Cent....It just goes on like this...Ewwww)
  12. But what did you think of the movie? And the type in bold...What does that mean?
  13. I don't get grounded cuz I don't have time for trouble. And even if I did...I don't have time to go out anyway, so that's cool with me.
  14. This one time I went 24 hours straight without going to the bathroom. It was intense. ... Yes, I've been pondering my abilites for 3 days, and that is the best I could come up with. I would hate that. You sleep away your entire weekend.

I keep putting off buying that game..For the last like 7 years...I really need it, if for no other reason than to say I have it. On a related note: You know Blizzard is an amazing company where there are 2 WoW threads, 1 Diablo thread and 1 Starcraft thread on the front page of Off-Topic.
  16. What do you mean Pink Floyd was easy? And tell me how Corpse Bride is. It's the only animated film I was even pondering renting. Anyways, I watched two movies from completely opposite ends of the intelligence spectrum. Friday night I watched Aeon Flux. I'm not really sure what I was thinking. Because it was almost exactly what you'd expect it to be based on the trailer. There were a few plot twists, which I really really didn't care about, because the atmosphere and overall story were pretty weak. And not only that, but the action was very very weak and predictable, and I missed the first 2 minutes, therefore missing 75% of the story...So I'm not exactly sure why she was able to do such rediculous feats. It really annoyed me I had no clue what was going on. But I guess I asked for it by watching such poor quality movie. Oh yeah, and let me just note, the costume design was horrendously bad. Not that I'm into that kind of stuff...But it was just atrocious. On the other side is Match Point. I haven't seen any other Woody Allen movies so I can't really compare. It was cleverly written, the dialogue was generally excellent, but there was the occasional eyebrow raise at the dialogue. Directing was good, most of the time staying out of the way of the writting/acting. But from what I saw it was good. The acting was excellent, the main character's grew on me tremendously throughout the movie (he looks like Joaquin Pheonix! :? ), and all the supporting roles did excellent, I especially liked his friend Tom's acting, I donno who the actor was and too lazy to check. I did enjoy the story a lot. You could tell it was extremely well thought out. The writting combined with the acting portrayed a great deal of human emotion very well, and it managed to build an unusual kind of tension that was interesting. Great ending too ;). My only criticism is that it had a bit of extra baggage; the run-time was a bit too long and there seemed to be a few scenes that added little to the plot and effect of the film. Way better than Aeon Flux though. (surprised?).

Halo 3 is allegedly being showed at E3, with actual gameplay footage (though you won't be able to play it at E3, it's just a video) See here: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/703/703671p1.html Oh a completely off-topic note, this reminded me of how much respect I lost for Bill Gates when he said Halo 3 was coming out the same time as PS3. That was a real headscratcher, he looks like a n00b now. Not only does that not make any sence, but who is he to say that Bungie will release a game. And not only that, but PS3 would completely waste Halo 3 in terms of sale, so his comments are completely rediculous, just meant to get all those Xbox fanboys a-hyperventilatin' about how Halo 3 rox my sox. And on another side note, just an observation, Xbox-fanboys are far more annoying than Sony and Nintendo fanboys. I'm not sure why, but they seem to be the ones putting all other systems down, normally in 1337 speak, and it's just plain annoying. And Bill Gates' comments just got them all in a massive, crazy, nerdular, raging campaign on how 360 will own all other systems because 'Halo 3 comes out same time as PS3!!!". It makes me sad. And I'm saying this from a completely non-partial background, having never owned a console ever. (Thought obviously I prefer the PC, it's not in the next-gen console wars) I've put what little opinion I have in favour of PS3 because of next-gen GTA and less mad fanboyisms.
  18. Funny we're talking Mortal Kombat. Acclaim has all their games up for auction herehttp://maltzauctions.com/acclaimip.htm, which includes Mortal Kombat. Got $50 000 dollars just for the registration to bid, and you can go an try to get the rights to Mortal Kombat. I wonder how much that will sell for :|. Save your pennies.

You are only considering multiplayer. I thought Halo's plot was very interesting and fun to play. Once Halo2 comes out on PC, I will play that as well. However, I will not spend 400 bucks just to play two games. I thought the singleplayer levels were very boring and only a few were thought out and planned to be fun... /me points to the Library level as an example of a *bad* level design Lol, the library is one of those levels that will be pointed to for years as an example of horrendous level design.
  20. As it's been said in many news articles: It's not like any of the other consoles are well named. All the major 3 on the market now are rediculously corny, and stuff like Game Boy sounds wierd when you think about it. Wii is funny, but I bet they will change it cuz aparently everyone hates it, but me.
  21. Mr_Putter replied to RedStar's topic in Off-Topic
Lol, forget about PS3 or 360. I'm getting the "Nintendo Wii". That's the new name for revolution.
  22. Mr_Putter replied to RedStar's topic in Off-Topic
Other than GTA, almost no games get ported from PS2 to PC. More games from Xbox get ported to PC than PS2 to PC.
  23. I watched The African Queen. It was disappointing. There wasn't too too much going on. It was the worst Bogie movie I've seen (he was fine, but the part was bad), and Kathrine Hepburn was annoying and not very good. It was just not particularly good. Not terrible, but not good.
  24. Mr_Putter replied to RedStar's topic in Off-Topic
PC always will be the best. But since that's not the question, I'd back PS3. Primarily for GTA. And a launch title of UT2k7 is amazing. And many of the big Xbox games are on PS2 anyway. But I've never had a console. So who cares. PC owns.
  25. It's not like any Americans are going to be shown in a negative light in it. And if the victims families are fine with it, then I don't particularly care.
