I think that you have a good idea here.. and it is not bragging to invite others to help folks who need it, regardless of what some users who have posted here might think. I am glad to see someone attempting to bring some good spirit and community minded attitude to a time that is really going to be a difficult adjustment. This thread gives me a good feeling.. let's keep it that way and not pick it apart with silly accusations or assumptions about why the author might have made it. The bottom line.. is that he is being goodhearted and wanted to share a way for others to be that way as well.

I am stepping into this thread in order to remind folks that regardless of personal views, verbally attacking each other as users is unacceptable. The thread was created in order to put forth the views of the author and I read every post, watching it degenerate into attacks on gender, age, intelligence, grammar. Obviously people are going to have different opinions on subjects and right now the touchiest subjects are those that are related to the very large changes that Jagex has decided to implement in Runescape. Emotion is high and many of the responses that I see are not thought out discussion, but hateful, angry stabs. Many of them were made without reading beyond the first post at all, so those users did not even take the opportunity to read what more the author himself might have had to say in rebuttal to things. The userbase at tip.it has a wide variation of ages and nationalities. My own expectation for users is for them behave with respect and decorum, whether they are 12 years old or 75, whether they are from the eastern world or the western world. There are many successful discussions on our boards in which users are able to curb outrageous emotion and talk to one another without nastiness. My first inclination was to simply lock this thread, but I do not want to do that. I would rather see users pull together and discuss things in a rational way and stop hurling insults and names at one another. :lol: Woo, burnt monkfish! Well.. I collect thread.. but not from the store.. and tinderboxes, which come from thieving little goblins... so my sense of collecting is intact. I know where I got my things and I'm not worried about the fact that I could buy infinite numbers of tinderboxes... I also collect ebil chicken carcasses.. :)

:) A tutorial is an extremely useful creation. It still has value whether it is a week old or a year old... If one exists for a subject, it would be silly to create another one simply because one hasn't been seen for a while. So in this case, the bump is justified. ~turtlefemm-tip.it forum moderator

I play in high detail unless I'm going to be switching worlds often (like when I'm mining rune at the dark beasts or flying through the wild on a clue) I listen to music on my computer and do not want that RS startup music interfering while I'm waiting to get logged in over and over. People have said it can be turned off, but if so I can't find where. I don't use music IN the game... I know how to turn that option off, but it doesn't stop the start up music when logging in using high detail.

:) That is really great that someone helped you. There are a lot more nice people in RS than everyone thinks, probably because the not so pleasant ones are much "louder." I have almost 200 people on my friends list...and I am reasonably sure that most of them would do nice things like that. I know I've tried to be that way... I was thinking about your thread tonight while doing my slayer task at the bloodvelds and a nice person flew into the room... I had to screenshot our conversation...He was so worried and trying so hard to find a person who had died going through the aberrant specters. It was odd that I was thinking about this thread when that happened... A random player...and I see this kindness every single day in one form or another...I put our text together in photoshop after getting his permission to post it. :) (How embarrassing that I have a typo in it.. haha)
