  1. Very Bright. My old monitor was a bit faulty and couldn't go any brighter than what is normally 'dark', so I was literally ripping hairs out every time I went in the mining guild or some other dark spot in Runescape. Now I make the most of my screen's brightness and go with very bright every time :) ~Ian
  2. I know what you're experiencing. That used to happen to me a lot - so much so that it can't just be down to so-called bad luck. I reckon it's got a lot to do with your ping. Even if you're not lagging, if the other guy has a lower ping than you, his request to mine the rock is going to reach the Runescape Server first, and I'm guessing the server works on a first come first served basis so it gives him the ore. Even if you click at exactly the same time, if his ping is better (lower), he will get the ore first. However ping fluctuates (it isn't a static value), so occasionally the person with the higher ping will 'jump' slightly lower than the guy with low ping and voila the server gives the ore to you instead. To decrease your ping you should try and ensure you are running, preferably, no other applications other than Runescape itself. Peer2Peer programs are especially ping-greedy (I wouldn't encourage their general use anyway), and if you shut these down if you have any, your ping should decrease a lot. Even something as trivial as windows media player can have small effects on your ping as it's something else your processor has to deal with. I could be completely wrong but it seems like a pretty watertight theory to me. ~Ian
  3. Hehe, no way. My account is mine forever! FOREVER I TELL YOU! They must have Runescape in heaven, they must... ~Ian
  4. Guthix pl0x? After all he did MAKE Runescape. Guthix is probably an alias for Andrew Gower 8-) ~Ian
  5. I like killing Metal Dragons, of any variety. The knowledge that a valuable drop (dragon legs or skirt for those who are not P2P or 'in the know') is actually quite common relative to other rare drops, makes it exciting and a worthwhile place to train. Yes it's steep on prayer pots but... meh. ~Ian
  6. Like Adam said, your name is very familiar. Anyhoo, welcome back! ~Ian
  7. I'm happy with Iantiger but sometimes I'd like to change my main with one of my newbie characters like "Sunsurge" (awesome name eh?) or "Capt Yates". Also I was quite shocked when I made the account "Drag Pker", a name I thought would be taken. Imaketoilets has an ownage name. ~Ian
  8. Welcome back! Old people are cool. ~Ian
  9. I can't remember when I made my first mil it was a very long time ago. I guess I was about level 80 or something. I think it was through mining coal because that's all I ever remember doing in RSClassic! ~Ian
  10. I just don't understand. If Kain was already under false suspicion of almost the entire community, of being a cheater, why did he then proceed to actually cheat. Surely the better option would have been to reply to the people who were calling him a cheat and setting them straight on the facts. There was absolutely no need to cheat and the fact that it was an extremely stupid thing to do goes without saying. The people had dug him a grave, and he jumped right into it. Furthermore the statement at the end of the article about cheating just being tainted glory - I completely agree with it, but could that not be said about Runescape in general? If you achieve 99 mining in a game you have actually achieved nothing compared to expert miners in real life who drill for oil, and go deep into the treacherous coal mines everyday to labour away. Runescape could be seen as tainted glory in that sense. So cheating is tainted, tainted glory. But despite those things, the article was good :D ~Ian
  11. If I crafted nats all day I could potentially bag around 3 mil a day. But me being so lazy, I usually craft nats in batches of 500 before logging off to watch a movie or something and usually end up making less than 1 mil a day. ~Ian
  12. Just edit your first post and put everything in there. Don't forget to remove all the stuff from your other posts after you've done that. ~Ian
  13. In my opinion: Combat: Below 70 = low level 70-89 = solid character 90-99 = good level 100-109 = high level 110+ = very high level Skill Total: Below 1000 = low level 1000-1099 = solid 1100 - 1299 = good level 1300 - 1599 = high level 1600+ = very high level ~Ian
  14. Great stuff, I always enjoy reading Duke's articles, and seeing that the rare market will probably slow down gives a lot of players a sigh of relief, me included. ~Ian
  15. Maybe Bubsa, but they were on fire at Euro '04. What a comeback against Holland. I think they play on and off - their country has been through a lot in the last two decades with reform and all. With Petr Cech in goal, Rosicky, Baros and Nedved on the field, you can never rule them out. If you look at the league sides their players come from, they're strong on paper. ~Ian
  16. Mmmmm'kay it's a bit late to get people to predict the entire results of the world cup but since it starts tomorrow I guess it would be ok to let people predict the final 4 positionings of the world cup. Here's mine: Winners: Czech Republic Runner-Up: Brazil Third Place: Italy Fourth Place: Portugal Predict yours now. Cup starts tomorrow! EDIT: Averaged everybody's predictions: Winners: Brazil Runner-Up: Argentina Third Place: England Fourth Place: Germany ~Ian
  17. This picture is quite old and has been well-circulated in the past. It's available on the Runescape Wikipedia Page. ~Ian
  18. Discussions and Suggestions -> Discussions and Suggestions Forum Tough work I know. ~Ian
  19. Ah you're a legend thanks! 8-) And I found a buyer for my egg so I can get back to work on my house too XD ~Ian
  20. I think Construction is a P2P skill and therefore belongs in the P2P board  But seriously. I think Construction and POH's are the BEST thing that has ever happened to Runescape. Finally a skill which is all about fun, having a good time, and chilling out with your mates. It's HIGHLY addictive - I got Level 45 construction after 2 days and am still going strong. I just can't stop playing. I hope they increase the maximum house size though :s ~Ian
  21. My nifty design - very accessible and I've had nothing but compliments from the few house parties I've had so far :D Whoops forgot to draw the door from the portal to the parlour D'OH! ~Ian
  22. I usually pick a random world from either: Atlanta Stockholm Toronto Sydney These are usually less laggy for me. Secondly I'll try and pick the one with the fewest members, because when I play RS, I'm pretty independant, and like to train alone away from the hustle and bustle of busier spots. So in conclusion, I'm not very official. If I'm bored I might go to World 9 and see if I can find any Tipiters lurking. ~Ian
  23. LOL that was so random I was never sure what was going to happen next. That was brilliant when those 2 newbs scammed the Addy Full Helm and then drove off in the getaway golf cart :D ~Ian
