I think you can see the logic in this. ^^ As for the productiveness of his post, I think it was about as productive as going into a room full of Liberal Democrats, as a Conservative, and tell them they are all stupid. Nothing is accomplished except for argument and pointless conflict (not debate). Okay, I'm not a wanna-be mod, nor do I am I a rule-nazi, but I have to bring these forums' rules into account to properly answer your second question. His post did not pertain to the threads topic, and as you can obviously see, has lead to a total sidetrack, so far that a moderator had to intervene. If someone posts such a bias and subjective, in such an environment provided by the thread, isn't the outcome obvious? I think you, with your 6k+ posts, would know the social tendencies of TIF when such a post is made in such a thread. What do I propose as an alternative to voice such an opinion? Well, if you feel the need to attack a group of people within a thread, maybe start a thread about immaturity on TIF, or PM some of the people that really enraged you. Personally, I look down upon insults/attacks/belittlement against people because of their age, esteem or any uncontrolable feature of a person.

What can I say, we have good taste in music. Maudlin of the Well's Bath album. Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Modest Mouse...(the list goes on), are some of my favorite bands. Just because something is mainstream doesn't mean its not good music. I know, most mainstream music lacks lyrical and artistic value but not all. Slipknot and Marilyn Manson suck though. I think you've got this whole "messageboard" thing a little backwards, since I'm not making anyone do anything; and my posts have pertained to the topic in question* -- somewhat. You make it sound like I'm some kind of forum terrorist with an elaborate evil agenda, holy crap. *well, until now. Now I am way off topic - thanks a lot jerk! And my critique is an opinion just like your opinion that says everyone who tries to display facts about themselves on Off-Topic that are "wacky" or "random" should not be posting such things. I also find it hilarious how there is a team of posters who DISAGREE with the existence of the thread, yet their posts have been the main contributor of recent-bumps. This thread probably wouldn't be on the top part of the page if you hadn't done so, solving your so-called "disagreement" with the thread. Let it die. I'm sorry if there are threads here that get you a tad grumpy, but the beauty of this kind of forum is the variety of content.
