Err, ya, fermions are kind of the building blocks of all matter. That, and good luck dispelling the strong force within an atom to detach a few protons and neutrons while simultaneously detaching the proper number of electrons and keeping the structure stable. Kind of hard to do manually, let alone in nature (at will at any time; it does technically happen over time with the weak force within atoms). Well, you can, but that involves half-lifes and radioactivity, and is a very slow process. Though, other reactions can create elements from different ones within our universe, such as the nuclear fission hydrogen-helium reactions within stars. Alchemy as well, but that's another matter :) .

Started doing 60 situps a day Try doing less, but with weights. When I do situps I usually have a 25-pounder on my chest, so I can get more out of less sit-ups. Though they don't work the exact same regions, I still find leg lifts to be much more effective though. I don't get tired with regular sit ups, with weights it takes a bit... but those leg lifts really push ya.

The whole "a black guy can be a gangsta, but a white guy can't" thing has always confused me for some reason. It's not really blatant racism, as that's generally the case, but I've always found it funny when people think some preppy black kid makes a better [modern] gangsta than some white kid from da hood, if you get what I'm saying :-k :-w .

Then you've never fully competed o_O. Then again, I have exercise induced asthma (tends to go away after a season of soccer training, but if I take even a month off it comes back), so my perspective of my experiences with cross country may be a little off >_>.

Jogging, though all the sports I've ever been involved in encorporated a lot of running, so I'm kinda biased. Couldn't do a swimming sport if I wanted to anyways :-w . As for everyone saying that swimming works all the muscles, ya, I guess, but you're not exactly holding your weight up when you swim, in contrast with running :P .

It's like a school doing a weird policy, except instead a state government decided everyone would follow that weird new policy. 'Kay, teachers got the power still, students can't really waste time and use the law to protect them, so I guess I don't see much wrong with it then. Doesn't sound like this should've been a law though, more like just a general suggestion for schools to let the kids teach a little too :-k .

Nah, being a teenager just causes one to overexaggerate things. In the past, maybe two years ago, I had an "emo attitude" (i.e., didn't dress in black or anything), just grew out of it. I was emo not because my life sucked, but because I just thought my life sucked. Albeit, I was under a fair amount of stress between homework and athletics at the time of the phase, but it was really nothing more than a phase. Wana know the funny reason why self insults don't work on me anymore? 'Cause while I was in the phase, I used them all the time. "I hate myself", "I'm worthless", "I'm useless in the world", you name it, I said it 100+ times a night during the phase. Now, even if I want to say it, it literally has no meaning thanks to overuse in the past :lol: . So ya, it's a phase, they get over it after teenagerhood at the latest. Now, I can see people really being "goth" for extended periods of time, it not being a phase at all. Emo? Not really...

I'm pretty sure that 99.7% of members on this forum have established and agreed with the fact that evolution should stay in science class and creationism should stay in religion class. Giving students the power to go against this fact is in no way a logical or intelligient way to go about things. Problem is, it's in the South. Intelligient Design (believed as a science :lol: ) runs rampant der, which leaves one to wonder whether the vast majority of teachers would really make the right call in an evolutionist/creationist student situation. The teacher could already judge what a student thought was appropriate or inappropriate for the current class discussion, and thus had the power to stop any kind of tangents or rambling done by the students. But with this law... honestly, what the hell is the reason behind it? If I'm reading it right, it's stupid for giving students almost as much power as teachers in the classroom. If I'm reading it wrong, then the law doesn't even do anything new, and is thus meaningless. Either way it appears worthless. Oi.

It's not worth explaining this anymore (nor the humorous hypocrisy in that last statement), nor is it worth destroying a thread with this crap. I've said it a million times, and I'll probably have to say it another two million: Try and actually understand something before you choose to reject it, wudja? Just take a biology class, please (read up on Lammarck as well, his ideas, which were the same as yours, have been proven wrong). And try not to "set your beliefs in stone", seeing as how the most dangerous people in the world are those who think they know the truth. I don't believe in an afterlife, I believe in nothingness, a form of Nirvana if you will. The thought of living life forever, even in Heaven, scares me much more than the idea of not existing at all. Ya, weird to a Christian I guess, but that's my stance, and it wouldn't surprise me if the average atheist felt the same way. Athiests and theists both have their own ways of enjoying life, so don't try and act like yours is superior to theirs, even in dying, okay?

Using that logic, we shouldn't care at all about mildly malnourished children in parts of Africa because others are dying of hunger somewhere else. By that logic, we shouldn't care about anyone except the group, or even specific person, who has it the worst. If this is a health issue described in the news article, saying someone else is dying of hunger right now has absolutely zero, zilch, nada relevance to the situation. Hate the "but it's worse somewhere else" argument. Doesn't work people, at all.

We're so far above the next species on the list, in matters of consciousness, intelligience, and altruism, yet somehow this species still has a need to feel even more special than we already are. It's just hilarious :-w . Of course we should be seperate, there's no other species known to man that could fit within or league, within our category. But it's laws like this one in Texas that go to show that humans still feel a desperate need to be special and above everything else, even when that's already unbearably obvious anyways.
