Oh, yes, the technology we have in America (and throughout the world) is proof of that. Productivity will rise with lazyness as technology becomes more advanced, that's pretty much a given. But, of course, in the future the drug market will be so far beyond ours that I doubt anyone will be obese :-w . Lazy as hell, but obese? Eh, doubtful.

Don't forget India. Massive power shifts to East Asia in da future... And sure, Americans can appear lazy, but being the country with the highest productivity in the entire world, I don't think that point really holds all that well. America's going to be a world power for quite a while, and it may retain it's status as the world power for centuries, at the very least staying equal with East Asia rising powers. Also, the average American works 1800-1900 hours a year. The average European works 1400-1500 hours a year. I don't want to turn this into another "Defend America" thread, but the world needs to stop pointing fingers at America once in a while :| . Just because everyone says Americans are all lazy bastards doesn't mean you should believe them, especially considering that you live here in the first place :-s .

Basic pro: -Better technology, easier lifestyle. Much, easier lifestyle. Basic con(s): -Less understanding of nature, less ability to survive away from technology. -A myriad of moral dilemmas that would put all of ours today to shame. Mind swapping (resulting in possible immortality and other underground problems), the line between man and machine (cyborization), invasion of privacy, living in virtual worlds, reworking someone with drugs and technology to make their state of mind socially acceptable (psychology without the psychiatrist), information being downloadable to the brain resulting in a lack of drive to learn, and that's just the stuff off the top of my head. I've said if before, and I'll say it again: In the future, us, and our children are going to be morally screwed.
  4. Steal one from the school. We've got a lot of new ones, the school won't miss one if you take it :-w .
  5. Finally got lured into doing this. 6. Build a time machine, move to Greece. Go crazy. Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Although I wouldn't mind hugging one of my teachers.... j/k j/k Shauna... :-w .
  7. Hugs cause my skin to burn.
  8. I'm guarenteed a free education, wah!! Get over it. No, no, he's right. Some of these time frames are frikkin' easy BC >_>. 8:08-3:05 for me, not unbarebly early, but it appears like it's almost 2 hours more school than some of the people's on this thread. Massive Oi.
  9. Judging by the posts already made, it seems like everyone already has. What exactly is the point your making? Me, I still find it narcissistic of Americans to expect that we and everyone in the world should hold it as a day that will live in some kind of infamy, while half of this country's population can't name or locate a single country on the other side of the world, let alone mourn something that happened there. 3,000 people died. Whoop-i-dee-do-da. If your a family member of someone who died, fine, mourn, I'd be kinda scared if you didn't. Otherwise, there's not a person in existence with the time or caring reserves to mourn for every dead pile of carbon on the face of the earth, so don't expect everyone to care about every frikkin' thing.
  10. Frikking quoted myself -_-".
  11. Ya, took me a while to get out of making excuses too >_>. My favourite one was "I'm not reacting using my reflex arc, instead I'm actually wasting time getting the information to the brain". Best time was about .2.
  12. Fine, what were you reading that caused her to give you a detention, and when? Explain the situation in as much detail as you can, please. Oh, and the next time someone asks you to do a paper, you should probably do it :| . Don't use religion for lazyness, and don't expect that excuse to work.
  13. Yep, it's something curious about it. Even if the manga is still going on, the anime is already finished. However, if you follow the both of them, you'll soon realize they're just 2 different stories with a couple of parallelisms. Well, up until the Greed fight things are fairly parallel, but once you get past that they're completely different stoylines. Oh well, the major characters still retain pretty much the exact same personalities, so it's nice that it's not like reading/watching two completely different stories.
  14. Just look at it. The lighting, to be specific.
  15. Wow. Dude. No. I've said it before, and I guess I'll have to say it again. There are way better reasons for you to hate Catholicism. Look into it, please, for your own sake, and for ours.
  16. I agree. So how can we get rid of idiots like you? :-k ~Defender~ I kind of agree with LP... of course I'd put it differently, but it's not like the terrorist attack was earthshattering, like it was something that caused to human race to do a 180. Personally it seems people make it out to be more than it really is, just because it happened fairly recently :| . I mean, imagine if all European countries held a ceremony for all the days in which at least 3,000 people died for some WWII related reason within the national borders. With each passing remembrance service people would start to care less and less, to the point where they stopped caring at all. We ain't God. We can't infinitely care about everything. Thus, we should focus on caring about things that matter- the present, the future. Not the past. The past doesn't gain anything from our caring, but the future sure as hell does. Though obviously I don't "not care" (though I admittedly have never felt all that much emotion in regards to the attack), but there's only so much caring that can be spread around. Stop living in the past, and look to the frikkin' future .
  17. Yep, heat energy is most definately released from biochemical reactions. The deal here is that it's released as a result of matter changing it's chemical bonds via chemical reactions. The matter itself isn't turning into heat energy, it's the change in chemical bonds which is key here. Ya, if I recall don't our most efficient chemical reactions still only work at 39% efficiency, with the rest of the energy escaping as heat energy? :-k
  18. God, I had a discussion with my mom last week about this. Took me half an hour to explain to her that energy is just kept in molecules as bond energy, and that E=mc2 (an equation I see used far too much...) had nothing to do with it. Photosynethesis put energy from sun in chemical bonds, cellular respiration break bonds to use energy. Simple as that.
  19. Ya, the entire anime is 51 episodes long, but the manga is still going.

    But I wubz my e-cred  .
  21. Hehe, make sure not to rush straight through it :P . Nothing less fun than looking back and realizing you cut a whole great anime into three days of watching it on the internet :P . Try one episode a day at most, it'll make it seem longer and more enjoyable, and it'll keep you wanting more tomorrow. I mean, you can watch two in a day, but I wouldn't reccommend going much past that. I dunno, it just seems to take so much away from the sheer... greatness of the anime if you watch the whole thing in a short time span, makes it seem like less than it really is. I did that with Bleach, and it took a decent amount away from it when I'd watch 8 episodes in a row some Saturday morning. For Death Note I did one or less episodes a day, allowing it to last about a month, and I'd have to say that it did make it more enjoyable. So ya, just from personal experience, don't go to far on inclinations to watch it all the way through in one run. The anime's only 51 episodes long, so there's no reason to rush it at all :P .
  22. Couldn't have put it better myself :-k .
  23. God that song is so frikkin' whiney >_>. Played like a hundred times a day on every radio station too -_-"
