Anybody Else Give Up on Combat?
I hate K'ril for the same reasons, but I just used his slam attack as an example to illustrate my point. ;) I was gonna argue with you on your first post saying you couldn't have an opinion at level 60, but others did it for me. However, I like the above post, much better analogy/clarification :) I have to say, somewhere in the 70 range DG changed for me. You might be surprised. Fletching may not be the most fun in the world, but some people like RuneScape because of it's.... lack of intensity.

What was the first thing you did when you got members for the first time?
I think for me, I hit the TzHaar area, and enjoyed killing the TzHaar with pro melee on, then dying in the fight caves. I also remember the level 90 being difficult...

What is your bind order?
Well, if I had 99 att/str/def and didn't need a spear for controlled.... 1. Primal Long. 2. SSH. 3. Surgebox. 4. If they ever made a celestial FIRE staff, I'd take that. Otherwise, platebody. 5. Ranged body, for mage def. 6.....well, if a celestial fire staff existed, bump the platebody/ranged body down one. Realistically, Melee Weapon (spear till I get 99 att/str/def, then longsword) followed by my hood and surgebox...melee platebody for next bind, and a ranged body if/when they release the quest giving us an extra bound item and I get 100 DG. My money would be that the quest would come before 100DG :P

Chaotic rapier and jad
We're talking about a monster that can 1hit k0 pretty much anyone if they're unlucky. I don't think tanking is a good plan.
-
Chaotic rapier and jad
I've never gotten that close to Jad, but according to what I've seen/heard and what the knowledge base says, his melee attack has no animation. Just keep pro melee unless you see the range/mage animation.

The Bind System
Sadly, a celestial staff is actually less useful then an empowered fire staff (at least imo) because you don't need to make fire runes. Frankly, I'm getting my stats up to make empowered fire staffs... Also, besides the quest for another bound item (probably at 75...) they probably won't add much, if at all. I'd like to start off with a bloody toolbox every Dungeon. Just add that in, rather then getting coins, selling a couple items and buying one. Also, yeah, the idea of having some sort of DG bank to switch up items would be amazing. I wouldn't mind trying out a celestial staff (if I ever see one) but I don't want to have to remake my spear for it. Well, get someone to make it for me.

Runescape Pet Peeves
Note the use of a personal pronoun. She seems to be applying that sentence towards herself, not you. Also, I think your posts may just be an example of why she doesn't like efficiency-obsessed players, assuming you are one. The above quote seems to suggest you are, but correct me if I'm wrong.

spicy stews
Don't. Use. A. Kitten. Period. Fairly sure last time I went stew hunting with my wily, it didn't catch them all the time...

Rapier vs. Long Sword.
Not. Again....

RuneScape: A Broken Game?
1. This is what happens in an involuntary corporatist-like economy. Jagex is involuntary playing into the hands of the elite rich with their control over the economy; they could completely control the economy and fix the prices themselves, but that would cause things to collapse economically, trade would halt, and prices would skyrocket in the black market (assuming of course there could be one, this is a game so unlike the real world they can have complete control.) In a completely free market, capitalism is a rich persons worst enemy; if you look at the real world the corporations always do well with the governments help, generally by regulating competition out of existence and providing bailouts. Looking at America, there were more regulations implemented under Bush than any past president in the last 50+ years (albeit, not all monetary.) 2. I agree with this, I got used to the controls by playing 6+ years, but a WASD movement would be nice... 3. Yeah, it has been like this since the beginning and unless there's a complete engine overhaul ('Runescape 3') I don't see much changing. 4. Again, correct... The rest is correct, this is how runescape and it works, you're suggesting HUGE changes with the drop system and overall feel of the game. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Truth of the matter, capitalism is kind of like a sin/cos graph. There are waves. It goes up then it goes down. When it goes down, everybody gets hurt; but capitalist societies tend to be a rich mans friend because they don't lose 50% of their income to taxes and can buy their way to the head of a line. That being said, if your truly rich during a recession/depression, all you have to do is ride it out. Or if it's a localized recession/depression, move. On-topic: I think we need more armour like those DG shields. The concept of X% reduction if you take over Y damage is actually an ingenious one if you get the numbers right. What if there was an armour set that did that like, exponentially? Might make Jad too easy... Well, how it is currently programmed may not be perfect for stuff like D claws... but imagine if, say, you take over 500 damage, you get a 20% reduction on all damage over say...250. Or something. Or maybe some amulet that causes consecutive hits to deal less damage...? I'd say part of the real problem is that accuracy isn't set in stone. Although unlikely, there's nothing technically stopping someone with maxed melee, super pots, turmoil from taking out someone with torags and a DFS out with a lucky spec. Actually, some random idea I came up with for defense, which might also help the combat triangle. A mages shield made up of a bunch of floating swords. These parry attacks, giving high melee defense, some deflection against melee attacks.... possibly a push back feature. Rangers could perhaps be given a special bow or...something.... basic idea could be a "mage disruption attack" (sidenote: I'm making this up as I go a long, the most logical thing for this is a quest reward; you learn about this through the quest and apply it to all ranging) Basically, the idea behind it is you "disrupt" a mage with your arrow shooting; in essence, what this does is causes the spells by the person your attacking to hit less damage and bind/freeze for less time. Just some random thoughts. You know, I can honestly say that it's fixable considering all the different suggestions people come up with :P

Sooooo..... as best as I can tell from that post, you think the definition of efficiency is, er, playing the game?  A rather dumb definition of efficient, because you can't be be INefficient according to those standards....

Which will be more useful?
I'm no expert, but probably claws.

Rapid Renewal sucks
except 10k tokens could be used to save 900k gp when repairing chaotics with tokens. a law staff is less useful than 900k tokens. A law staff isn't WORTH 900k TOKENS, and unlike some people here, I never mentioned law staffs at all.... I'm confused by your post.

needhelp with "Dealing with scabaras"
You know, this site has quest walkthroughs. A generic statement saying "I need help" is useless. WHAT do you need help with? What part of the quest are you on? Etc. Etc.

Binding items....
Ah. Thanks. I knew you couldn't they didn't show because I accidentally went to F2P DG once and freaked out, but I didn't know what would happen if you tried binding anything. Guess this topic could be locked/deleted by a mod since it's been answered.

Binding items....
No, not a question of what to bind... I have Prom Spear p++, SSH and Surgebox and I'm happy with it. Question is, what if I was on F2P and bound something? Does F2P/P2P have separate binds or would it destroy one of my P2P binds?

Anybody Else Give Up on Combat?
Then why are you not singing? OT: I was in the same position a while ago. Then I decided to try out slayer for a while, and from about 80 melees, all the way to where I am now, all I have done was slayer. I found a way to train that I liked, so I would advise you to go try out different types of training methods. You don't have to camp AZ's or anything to train melee stats. Because I orchestrated a typo which I would have never found without the kind assistance of xtroll... Offtopic, but I wanted to point that out as well. Anyways, either take a break and skill, or stop staring at longterm objectives. Besides, once you get max combat/herb/chaotics, best gear, etc.... all you have left is killing jad w/o prayer switching and solo'ing corp lol. Jagex never updated boss monsters for things like overloads and chaotics....

Rapid Renewal sucks
Frankly, I could see it having some small, tiny, minimal use at say ZMI cos of the altar there. Maybe. Maybe not. I'd say it's on the list of items "to get when you too more tokens then you know what to do with." I dunno, I think it's cool to unlock everything. Could be argued that if you have more tokens then you know what to do with, multiple chaotics and recharging them is the answer...

Tip.It Times - 28th November 2010
Frankly, I don't find mage too bad in DG. Maybe because besides my surgebox, I CAN make blood runes. So by the time I run out there's enough ess/money to make more, and I can make it. I've still got my spear bound though. On the other hand, 79 RC, and 2 or 3 fletching levels until I can make empowered fire staffs. Afterall, mage doesn't work on everything; and as much as I like mage, I don't want to restrict myself by binding a staff. But seriously, no offence Racheya, the main reason mage doesn't work so well for you is the inability to make blood runes. I kind of understand the whole efficiency thing, not doing things because they don't coincide wit your goals; however, the real reason I haven't tried out the herblore habitat is because I can't hunt all the creatures there nor create the suitable habitat for all of them. I plan to look at that more once I hit 80 construction/hunter.... I'll read the fictional later, but I liked the first few so far :) EDIT: Liked the fictional, although I had a bit of trouble keeping track of all the characters.

Runcrafting Cloths
I've never heard of an invisible RC boost from those. Invisible boosts generally don't allow you to accomplish to do things you couldn't otherwise do, so if they DO have an invisible boost it probably wouldn't work. Although, if an invisible boost worked for anything other then mining faster, it'd work for multi runes...

joking here, but my goal is to troll you in this post. congrats to me? :P anyway OT, i think this is a good topic. i'm hearing a lot of reasonable statements which is actually kind of refreshing. Congratz!

What happened to this community?
You know, I think I'm in love with the guy who pointed out that maybe it's just YOU who's changed. I've been playing since, I think, the start of 05. Ish. Seeing as I have a rubber chicken and no Yo-Yo. So, basic math tells me I was 13 when I started. 19 now. Biiiiiiiiiiiiig gap there. I know when I started I typed with letters, making a point of quickly typing stuff taking as many shortcuts as I could, so I filled up the page with acronyms, sk8, etc. Read a tipit times article ages ago, which caused me to type things out - now I look down on people who type with too many acronyms and numbers; I look down on them and often refuse to try to figure out what was trying to be said because I consider it beneath me. (Probably a bit of a character flaw lol.) Anyhoo, point is, I've changed. A lot. More then I can realize. And for many people here, judging how much RS has changed when you, yourself probably changed significantly is very difficult. I feel you missed the point and would you have every considered your point of view a bit elitist and possibly intimidating for any newcomer to join the community? Flaming doesn't keep "garbage" out of the boards it only keeps people away. It tells people if they aren't as good as you, they should go screw themselves. I think some people forget that before you can be great at anything, you have to start out as a nobody. Luckily enough, you had people before you that encouraged you or gave you advise that helped get you to where you are now. You should really just ignore that post. As for above post, No 99 Melee...if your not high that is.... What constitutes as not ordinary? What, are we going back to the whole "If your not posting 120 DG/maxed total, don't post"? If this is the case, no wonder people [bleep]ing [bleep] about all the damned elitists. Personally, I usually gratz people whenever they post something that they feel they are proud of. Gratz for achieving your goal.

Does Jagex overlook simple details?
Actually, the idea is that you go under the bridge, through some small underground cave river thing, then surface at the pool. Which, ignoring the bridge, still leaves the question of breathing. Either that or how there can be air underground there and yet have a pool above that.
