  1. Keep it. The item price is still going up, and selling it just because of a "feeling" is a terribly bad idea. If you DO sell it, wait a while. Eventually, the price go high enough that people can start getting it on the GE and it will be worth it to someone with 60mil in junk to kill Tzhaar dudes for Tokkul. Then the price will drop a bit, because when things that rise for a while hit their peak, they drop. If you sell at any point, sell at the peak. Still, if you use the item, I wouldn't sell it personally. Also, although I have 100% confidence that what I predict will happen, don't expect it to happen tomorrow. Or next week. Or next month...
  2. Every one of you has pointed out that some people might enjoy doing it themselves...But, as Qeltar said, are missing the point of his rant. Player X is collecting dragon bones because he thinks its cheaper to collect the bones, when in reality he could make (theoretically) faster money at GW then by killing green dragons; he could then thus spend the money on dragon bones. And save time. In other words, this is a rant about people who don't understand opportunity cost, vs people who just don't give a [cabbage]. I understand where he's coming from. I just hope the OP understands DIY'ers as well. But from the posts here, if he didn't before, he probably does now. And yay acronyms! OFFTOPIC: My first thought on this was people who want to buy obscure items when it'd be faster to buy it themselves. I'm thinking of people standing in banks for 20 minutes trying to buy a redberry pie instead of making one themselves....lol. Oh, and at the above poster, I somehow get the feeling that killing Arma a lot of money would be more fun then killing greens...lol. But that WAS just an example.
  3. Actually, I'm pretty sure the reason it goes in the bank is because, depending on the resources you pick, you couldn't carry it all with you. Especially since nests aren't noteable. At least the ones with stuff in them. Anyways, chances are you don't need all that stuff in your bank lol.

I second that, don't blow your bank on them, and ESPECIALLY don't blow your MTK coffers, since you use that to GET money in the first place! I've heard flipping can be decent money, but like the guy said, 1%-3% a day. Personally, I've never bothered trying to flip.
  5. That "new" car smell for a video game.... In my opinion, that has more to do with just being young, and playing a NEW game. The "new car smell," if you will, of a video game fades once you play it enough. No matter how big the game seems, you will always be able to beat it. Unless the game developers develop the game faster then you can beat it... But that would suck too imo. Plus, it'd probably be too costly.
  6. Sir_Squab replied to gremmy's topic in Help and Advice
The boots are pretty good, they don't take too long and sell for a decent profit. If you have more time to spend, then the book is probably your best bet. If your really curious, compare prices with point cost.
  7. Love the poll idea :D Seriously though....2b is enough imo. If you have that much and want something, just spend the damned money. Rare obsessors can just deal with need 10k onyxes for their "wealth." Besides. Money is worthless. It's just a tool use to elevate society from a barter system. Having money just for the sake of having money is stupid, imo. You should have money to afford good stuff. If I had that much money, I'd just do stupid things to burn it lol. Alch Godswords. Do slayer task in PVP armour/weapons.... Also, yeah, people who get that much money are kinda in the minority. All that would do is depress most people who read the newspost. Cooking is dirt cheap. Prayer costs 260m for 13m xp, thus it would cost 2600m for 130m xp. We have already past the max cash limit and we have another 70m xp to go. You could just, erm, not buy all the bones at once? I GOT IT! RS3! Basically, we increase the max on all items and such all the crazy no-lifers who want 200m in all skills and 50bil there. Lol. Honestly....I probably spend more of my life on RS then I should. I'm no where near people with 5bil bank worth or w/e. Honestly.....chances are they need a life. In any case. I still don't see the point of obsessing for money for moneys sake. Spend it!
  8. True. But you should also factor the time wasted in figuring out how to be efficient ;) I was at Greats in Kuradels dungeon, and there was like a 137 in Bandos leaving them on the floor. Considering how long they take to die, I don't blame him. I pick mine up....more out of habit then anything. In all honesty, the money doesn't add up to much. And no, they don't need to come up with something that auto-picks up coin drops imo.
  9. Dragon battleaxe: Stab -2 Stab 0 Slash 70 Slash 0 Crush 65 Crush 0 Magic 0 Magic 0 Range 0 Range -1 Strength 85.0 Rune Defender: Stab 20 Stab 20 Slash 19 Slash 19 Crush 18 Crush 18 Magic -3 Magic -3 Range -2 Range -2 Strength: 5 Leaf-bladed Sword: Stab 67 Stab 0 Slash 62 Slash 0 Crush 0 Crush 0 Magic 0 Magic 0 Range 0 Range 0 Strength: 50 Zamorak Spear: Stab 85 Stab 13 Slash 65 Slash 13 Crush 65 Crush 12 Magic 0 Magic 0 Range 0 Range 13 Strength 75.0 First, Leaf-bladed Sword + Rune Defender (LBS + RD) vs Zamorakian Spear (ZS) using Stabbing attack. LBS + RD Stab 67 +20 = 87 Stab. Strength: 50 + 5 = 55. ZS: 85 Stab. Strength: 75. We have a 2.4% (rounded) stab bonus in favour of the LBS + RD combination. We have a 36% Strength bonus in favour of the ZS. Speed: I could not find the speed of the LBS listed in the RS manual. I am assuming they have the same speed of normal swords, which is 6 bars, or max melee weapon speed. Since the ZS is also listed as having 6 bars or max melee weapon speed, we eliminate speed from the LBS + RS vs ZS debate. Conclusion: The sword and defender combination has about 2.4% accuracy bonus, vs a 36% Strength bonus. Seeing how much larger the Strength bonus is on the spear, we can conclude that the spear is the superior weapon. Next. Dragon Battle Axe + Rune Defender (DBA + RD) vs Zamorakian Spear (ZS) using crush. DBA + RD Crush: 65 + 18 = 83 Crush. Strength: 85 + 5 = 90. ZS: 65 crush 75 str. We have a 27.7% (rounded) crush bonus in favour of the DBA + RD combination. We have a 20% Strength bonus in favour of the DBA + RD combination. Speed: battle axes have a speed of 4, while the ZS has a speed of 6. This is a 6/4 or 3/2 ratio in favour of the ZS. The ZS is 50% faster. Conclusion: We have a 27.&% bonus in favour of Strength and a 20% bonus of accuracy in favour of the DBA + RD combination. Multiplying the two together, we get a 53.2% bonus in favour of the DBA + RD combination. Therefore, this combination has a 53.2% bonus attack per attack against the Spear. However, the spear has a 50% speed bonus. I am assuming, for easy math, a base hit of 10. Using the DBA + RD combination, we would get TWO hits with a 53.2% bonus. We would hit 153 twice, a total of 306 damage. The ZS has a base hit of 10, but would hit THREE times, a total damage of 300. According to this math, the DBA + RD combination is not only cheaper, but slightly better. However, as any high level player will know or realize, there comes a point when accuracy stops mattering so much. Once a certain attack level is reached, differences in attack bonuses generally become negligible, except on certain foes. I am assuming for higher levels that the 20% accuracy bonus becomes somewhat negligible, therefore making the ZS the preferred higher level weapon. This IS an assumption. (It's also worth noting, that, again in my opinion, a 0 with a faster weapon is less bad then a 0 with a slower weapon, as if you hit a 0 with a faster weapon, your next chance to hit comes sooner. This is just an opinion.) The best solution would be to have actual TESTS for both of these weapons on waterfiends. I am of the opinion that the ZS will win; the exception being low leveled characters that would probably find waterfiends too difficult to fight in the first place.
  10. Yes, well. Currently my goals are getting a wolpertinger and arcane stream to hit high with mage. So, I'm happy with the way things are at the moment....because, like I sad, I don't want augury on that list >.<
  11. /v/ doesn't get too many Runescape threads, and when they do it's generally a more nostalgia oriented discussion rather than a "join this now" topic. From what I've seen of /b/ (I don't venture that far down the rabit hole), they would do less than they are given credit for. /b/ doesn't randomly stage large-scale attacks on sites; they need some sort of motivation to do so. Why does everyone give /b/ such a bad name? It is the funniest place ever! Albeit sometimes pretty gross. Still. Get off your high horses, I bet people who say they never read it read it 24/7. I have no idea what /b/ is. And Ring_World, nice find :D really like it. I'd mostly be a Diamond, next would be Spade...well, if questing counts as Spade. I'd be a bit of a Heart, I couldn't stand this game without company probably. Lastly would be a club. I want to enjoy Pk'ing, but I'm not really good at it, and I'm not willing to risk my items. Although, oddly enough, one of my current goals is to max out my magic damage to (hopefully) go clw with. Or maybe duel tournaments.
  12. Quick question - do magic boosting prayers raise your max magic damage? I don't think they do... If so, I need to add augury to my "max magic damage" list >.<
  13. I HAVE all 3 Godbirds in my PoH.
  14. I'm pretty sure I read recently in a Q&A thing, or maybe a Development Diary, that it's there to prevent people from hopping from world to world instantly doing things like hogging rune rocks. Like a dozen people or more have mentioned.
  15. Seeing as F2P'ers can craft at least laws and nats there....pretty sure THEY can craft deaths....
  16. Bahahahaha! I got quite a laugh out of seeing 80 prayer after soul split...speaking of which, isn't soul split a lower level prayer then turmoil? lol
  17. I'd say 99 range. Out of all the things listed that you can afford, 99 range is probably your best bet.
  18. zs is a hell lot faster than dbaxe............. Just my thoughts. I got one for waterfiend tasks back when they were like 1m ea.

Your post should be a reportable offense... I don't care what the damn topic is about.... "Hello, regarding your topic/posts/etc. I was too damn [bleep]ing lazy to read it so I'm just posting here like a complete moron." Sorry. Had to get that off my chest. On topic: Jagex is actually working on a save function for solo players. Other then the (somewhat) slow exp, that's the only thing I really dislike about it; I always have to make sure when I started a dungeon that I have time to finish it. I actually did eat one mean while returning to my comp to make sure I didn't log off... Something does need to be done so that you don't get punished for having to log off mid-dungeon. Still, I don't mind the skill. Wish it was a bit faster....really looking forward to getting the arcane stream :) Anyhow, what's wrong with a skill that isn't a grindfest? Haaaaaaaahhhh....air runes much? Not that I condone macro'ing, but it would be the perfect thing to macro in there. But how would the idle time affect macro-ers? Not like they're idle... (P.S. I really hope they don't remove the air rune thing.) And yeah, the name prestige makes no sense. And yes, tokens should be awarded for partially completed dungeons. And to the above poster, yeah, that's part of the reason I solo. It's faster (well, then dungeons don't take as long) and I don't have to worry about playing with complete morons.
  20. Anyone with half a brain is gonna make the effort to either keep the gem or turn it into a ring. No one is stupid enough to make a fury. Onyx = 60m gp, 2.7m tokkul. You don't attain any extra wealth through junk trading than you do selling it on the GE, doesn't anyone alknowledge that? -.= That's why junk trading is broken and pointless. Just a bloated illusion Well, that depends on where your junk comes from. If it comes from buying other items that you need junk to buy, or from say borrowing items, you would get extra wealth from junk trading.
  21. Yup, the only rooms you can move are costume room/menagerie. Note I said move - you can't build more then one, if you try to build a second one, the game offers you the option of moving your current one instead. However, if you destroy either of these rooms (which I believe is only possible after all items and pets are removed from them) you lose everything left. Destroying a room destroys everything in said room, permanently. Personally, I'd say SC hammers are probably worth it, although I don't think I ever used them. But if I ever started seriously training it, I'd get some.
  22. Well, I've training dungeoneering mainly via solo'ing. It's fairly slow, and for some reason I can't get motivated to do multiple levels in a row. But on the other hand, I really want 70 dungeoneering for an arcane stream necklace and maybe a few other things. What would be the fastest way to level it?
  23. Depends entirely on what tasks you like. I mean, I block things like fire giants, but I've met people who love them. All I can say is rack up slayer points until you find a task YOU despise.
  24. What he said. Junk trading exists for items the GE cannot cope with...these items being things that rise massively in price from the GE price, or for well.... really rare items in game, i.e. rares and spirit shields. The GE works fine for the SoL, and you think that is overpriced.... Well, most really good high end items are, in my opinion, overpriced. In a way. That is, I don't think most of them should be as expensive as they are, but people are willing to pay a premium for the top gear in game, and supply and demand causes the high price. Unless your a J-Mod. you have to live with it. I said that the staff of light isn't expensive ENOUGH, while the street price for battle robes are waay over the top. If they were like 6mil, yeah I'd consider paying that, but 15mil, no way. Sol should be 10mil+, and battle robes should be 6-7mil not the other way around. Then again, I'm not enitre sure how frequent the Sol drop rate is. I expect battle robes to rise well over the current GE price of about 850k, but 15mil.. hell no, it wont happen - people are just greedy. Well, whatever you opinion on the price of the staff of light SHOULD be, there GE is working perfectly fine to keep up with the supply and demand of that item. Junk trading only happens when the GE cannot keep up with the supply and demand. So, as best as I can tell, your ranting because items aren't worth what you think they should be worth. You can stop blaming greed for that. If you don't like the way supply and demand dictates RS economics, become a communist. The reason why battle robes are worth so much is because, unlike you, there's plenty of people WILLING to pay that price. Hmm. While your at it, why not throw in rangers boots? Lol.
