Ranged Max Hit Update
I've taken a look at the data, and there is not enough data on crossbows to be able to establish a formula. I would like to ask everyone to go and shoot some bolts and see what they get.

Ranged Max Hit Update
Probably once we get enough data points to be reasonably sure we are right.

Fairytale I
your farming level determines how much you hit a boss (i guess) but with 43 prayer it really doesn't matter.

Cutting and Banking Maples, Is Seers Village My Only Option?
maples are not very good to bank atm, since the price is so low. Instead, i would burn them or drop them, which would give you a lot more flexibility in locations.

How to achieve FREE P2p in rs
- Cannon question (Pest Control)
you should be able to get it back from the dwarf you buy it from.- Behold! Tip.it Staff RuneHead Highscore List!
40th overall and in combat and hp, 35th in skillz though... not too bad. I should start moving up eventually... i hope. NIce job with the list.- Correction needed: General Guides
It's been fixed, it will be changed on the main site soon.- Animated avatars
It is extraordinarily difficult to squeeze an animated avvy into 30 kb. Granted, it is not impossible, just harder. Right now, that animation is 330kb or so.- If i may be so bold...
The most obvious problem is the fact that the entire area is multi. As a level 100, I went into the 55-100 pit, and got destroyed by teams of 90s. If there was an option for single combat, I believe it would be much fairer to players that don't have a team of allies with them.- Real World Trading Solutions Gathered By Nuclear_man2
You claim that these are the four main categories, but in what order? If 60% of people are "skillers" then they haven't ticked off a majority of players, only a majority of player groups. Second, of the 4 groups, 3 of them are not in the spirit of the game. Merchanting, staking, and (to a lesser extent) pking are all examples of emergent gameplay, where players are doing things Jagex has not envisioned. It was never Jagex's idea to have a system where players can make or lose millions or billions in a matter of minutes. Merchanting, in Jagex's eyes is just ripping off other players. The point about skillers not being able to sell for as high as they could is also unfounded. While the actual numbers may have faltered, the inherent cost, the cost to replenish the materials they have used has also fallen. So the typical yew long stringer is making just as much as he would be before the update.- Suggestion for Jagex
1. That would only solve half the problem. 2. Jagex should implement more secure fraud-protection. I've seen some really involved systems involving bank phone number, personal phone number, etc., and all of these need to match with your bank's records.- No more RANDOM EVENTS/PURE ESS needed anymore now?!
Jagex can ban the auto-alchers and afk get logged out. I said they could keep the less annoying randoms which have good prices like Mime and Drill Demon since they give out clothes. But the rate of randoms should decrease....ALOT. After playing for a while, I find those randoms EXTREMELY annoying, because all I get is 500 gp. Annoying by whose definition? It's already been established that we differ on what we find enjoyable. --------------- For me, any random that takes less than 2 minutes and lets me make 10k or more is good enough. (or Leo the Gravedigger, since that lets me bank during a slayer task)- how do u calculate magic dart?
For every spell, magic bonus just raises the chance to hit, and not the damage. Max hit = (M/10+10)- Chicken Little, the sky is NOT falling.
I geared the figure more towards everyday exchanges, and not towards gift-giving. I do not know when I would ever make more than 30k profit/loss in 15 minutes. However, I think I would be in favor of an exponential-type curve, where players that have played more would gain significantly better advantages when compared to gold-farmers just starting out. Maybe something like (totalExp/10^7)^2*10? With my stats, I would be able to have a trade imbalance up to 90k per 15 minutes. I think the issue at hand is not how MUCH should be allowed, rather, how to incorporate gift-giving into the current scheme. With the practical death of merchanting, there are few times (that I have not already adressed) that it is necessary to have trade imbalances.- Chicken Little, the sky is NOT falling.
The only reason I suggest the experience theory is that it would take countless hours of playing to be able to give any significant amount of money away. However, if you look at unbalanced trades that are not gifts to friends, I believe that they are people being nice at training spots, etc.- Was Jagex Just Swindled/Pwned/Stomped out?
I've heard WoW referenced quite a bit in these discussions. What exactly is their "solution?" Besides pricing the game significantly higher than RS.- The issues with Jagex proposed trading system
Reek of Mud: (Duke Freedom) If you were Jagex, and could do whatever you want with the game (outside of change it back to the old system) what would you do? Aside from that, with all of the price decreases, should Jagex have created "phantom" accounts to buy all of the extra items that were in people's banks, thereby controlling the ridiculous amount of supply? Or, again, how would you have handled the GE update?- No more RANDOM EVENTS/PURE ESS needed anymore now?!
I enjoy randoms. Except for the one where bob makes you give him fish. And the costume ones that only give 500 gp. But of the rest, 90% of them give you worthwhile rewards. I've had a couple 100k pulls from mazes recently.- So how DO you make a large amount of money now?
All of the rediculous, [broken] ways of making money are gone. Which is good for the game. If you work hard, you'll make money, and it's as simple as that. With the GE, the market has gained increasing fluidity, as 90% of items will move instantly. Granted, there's no ways to make a mil an hour, but many ways still remain. Slayer seems like a huge, untapped potential market considering the drops. Also, dragon slaying is a decent alternative.- Chicken Little, the sky is NOT falling.
While it seems as if the new updates have all but killed runescape, it has only been a day since they have come out. Is it all really bad? Granted, we know there are problems with the updates. The narrowness of the trade window (3k) is ridiculous. However, is it irreversible? Most of the trades that would break this take place in specific areas. With a very closed set of rules, it should be possible to mitigate much of the ill effects. Firstly, there are several key areas where sharing is used a lot. These areas should have special, topical exceptions. All monster hunting areas (GWD, slayer tower, slayer dungeon, most other dungeons) should allow players to trade unnoted, necessary supplies with one another. Items such as sharks and monkfish are routinely given away in these areas, and yet do not constitute a significant RWT threat. The second type of key area-trades are for services. Charged Glory for Uncharged +5k. Onyx+20k for fury. 2k for 27 rune essence in the air altar. This third type is the most prolific, and the easiest to change. All of the altars are confined areas, so the trade limit should allow more money to be exchanged per trade. There are already well defined amounts (1.5k to 2.5k for airs) that can be followed. Secondly, monster hunting can easily be fixed by using "stakes." Stakes, meaning "investments," would be split among all people in a clan chat in a combat area (kq lair, dks, etc.) At the end of the trip (when the first player leaves the area) all players would be told of the cash they made during the trip. Each player can decide to "sell" or "buy" their stakes. If I recieved a dragon axe drop (worth 3 mill) and had 2 other people with you, each participant would recieve a "certificate" entitling them to a third of an axe. No person would hold a physical certificate, rather the game would show the total value of "certificates" accumulated. Any player can buy out the drops of another (by me paying 2 mill, I could recieve the dragon axe) or they could sell their drops on the GE collectively. Other people have stated that it is occasionally difficult to recover lost items. My solution, again, is to make certain zones where you either do not lose items or members in your clan chat can recover them. This stops luring, as well as giving you a fair opportunity to get your items back. Alternatively, maybe this is how Jagex wanted the game. Maybe these areas should be high risk, high reward areas. Some people have remarked that they want to give presents to people. In order to accommodate this, the foolish 3k cap should be raised to floor(totalExp/1,000,000)*1000 (basically your total exp divided by 1000). Even for zezima, this would only represent 1 million gp. However, for an autoer, this is what, maybe 13k? (99 wc/fishing) If both parties need this requirement, friends who have played this game a long time and leveled a fair bit could give each other realistic presents. Also, I think a Christmas respite from this would be a good idea. (in future years) Jagex does not want to kill their game. However, I believe by this update, they have hindered things that should not be hindered. Through fair compromises between both sides, Jagex could return the game to [almost] what it should be, albeit this time without RWT.- There's a Cold Wind Blowing
Merchanters aren't needed with the GE though. You put in "200k yew logs" and in a few seconds you'll get them!- NEW USELESS ARMOUR!
Hardness doesn't translate into non-brittle. An extremely hard material could break very easily. - Cannon question (Pest Control)
