Firstly it seems a lot of people don't understand it, obviously there isn't just going to be one server with 1,000,000+ people on it, learn to read before you spite people. Secondly obviously there are disadvantages and advantages that's the point of debate - NOT to just shout it down. Personally I don't mind, both methods have good and bad sides but I feel that because RS has always been a switchable server game the community has developed so - PC clans, PK clans, trading and merchanting, switching to find rune rocks, training spots and a myriad of others. Other games like WoW have begun as a single server and probably have a community to reflect that. So no, I don't think they should, not because of the downsides of the system, but because of the problem of transferring between the two.

If only that was true, unfortunately jagex are only human; they can and will make mistakes. Then again lvl 3 skillers make their character usually in full knowledge of macroers and choose to do it - arguably setting themselves up for a fall.

I found out what this was, the svchost. was responsible for automatic updates - disabling this and restarting killed the problem but now means I have to check for updates manually. better than nothing though

Might be an idea for you to have a proof reader/editor as well - just because its written in word does not mean its free of spelling mistakes and it is incredibly hard to spot your own mistakes. The fact its so damn quick to load as a browser game, you finish one piece of HW, think hmmm 20 mins of RS quick, load it up super speedy and boom, play for hours. Saying that around my A levels (i.e. uh, now) I've seriously cut down, provided it doesn't get to the point of it takes precedence over the truly important things I don't see it as addictive.
