  1. Oh right, I forgot some. Rubik's Cubes were popular last year, I think I helped start it. Eh. Pen spinning never caught on until now, I'm still waiting to see how it'll turn out. As for "The Game," what I mean is that in the middle of Latin, some obnoxious girl will yell out "I LOST THE GAME." And I just lost. :D
  2. The game. Runescape. And something about ducks. I only played RuneScape, I was too cool for the other two. 8-)
  3. Or maybe you are? You know, ninjas and all.
  4. This is actually where I think religion came from when you look at what it tries to teach you about morality. Supposedly you are rewarded (heaven, karma, etc.) for being a good person, but I think that reward is just really the metaphoric version of the world becoming a better place. By being a good person you make the world a better place. Everyone in their right mind wants the world to be a better place - and having your own role in making it a better place should give you an even greater feeling. So you are rewarding yourself by being a nice person. Oh snap. I'm writing a history paper about how to create order in society. The options are basically a reward/afterlife (Religion), fear of punishment (Legalism), or eh, the Confucian way. :P As for the "bragging about nice things you've done kills it" thing, well, unless you run around screaming "I'M SO [bleep]ING NICE I HELP PEOPLE ALL THE TIME I'M AWESOME", then it really shouldn't be a problem. Like we've established, most humans are somewhat selfish (And there are people like me with huge egos), so no wonder we'd want to share what we've done.
  5. I wouldn't assume that's why, maybe he's making a video for his youth group or something. My friend did that, but he simply used a song from Metal Gear Solid. I clearly don't see why you have to assume the OP is making a video for his youth group. All we need to focus on is the fact he wants Christian metal. "maybe" Let's just stop assuming. If he felt like sharing his reasons he would've.
  6. Ah, I see. The comment about irrelevance was in agreement with SerpentEye, concerning the argument about wasting sperm. Sperm has basically the same role as eggs, so if eggs are allowed to be wasted, then sperm should be too. Right?

  8. It started with y_guy talking about how the Catholic church says: "Homosexuality isn't a sin, Homosexual sex is, because the meaning of sex is to procreate. You get married to procreate, so since males together/females together can't procreate, they shouldn't marry." I'm pretty sure he never said the point of getting married was to procreate. (Only that the point of sex was) Though it's rather irrelevant at this point.
  9. My dad used to have a 2 door Tiburon, I don't see how you could possibly fit 6 people in that thing. Asians man.I can vouch we are small in stature, and since we are midgets, have huge [bleep]s. Nice try, now get back to your mathematical calculating  ! You see, we calculate the volume of the car and divide it by the average size of an Asian. Instantaneously. My friends and I ehm...Carpooled once. 7 people in a 5-person car.
  10. Agreed. Israel is starting to cross the line. I admit, I'm not fully caught up to date on the situation, so I can't really comment much more. Though my classmate is in Israel right now. :|

  12. I personally think becoming a transsexual is a better way to express oneself rather than becoming a transvestite, and both use basically the same reasoning. Of course, the latter saves more money, so I'd understand.
  13. Though in general I agree with you, I'd probably explain this with some crap about original sin. (Or ooh, maybe gays are spawns of Satan!) But yes, if someone isn't religious then why does it matter to them whether or not homosexuality is a sin?
  14. The study of rocks isn't exactly as groundbreaking as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics are. I'd say earth science is though. That includes geology, astronomy and meteorology - I think. I don't know why I like math so much. Though I think I'd say algebra/arithmetic > physics > geometry.
  15. I meant 6:9-10. Whoops.
  16. Out of those, I'd say I'm best at math, so there. But math is quite useless if you don't apply it to something. Which the others do. Especially physics. So that's second. Chemistry is third because you get to blow things up. Biology is last because I hate it. A lot. My parents are/were both doctors, my sister plans on going into medicine, as do a bunch of my cousins, aunts and uncles. But not me. I hate that stuff.
  17. I don't mean to be Sir Spam-a-lot, but I edited my above post for a bit of clarification. Oh, no problem. It really is quite irrelevant, since as Life_mage mentioned, as far as I'm concerned, God does not directly condemn homosexuals anywhere in the Bible. It may be implied, but implications are up for different interpretations. (I might be wrong, it's rather pathetic I haven't really studied the Bible... ) So someone go find a good argument against homosexuality without using religion. Now. :) Edit: Scratch that, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says something like "Neither...Homosexual offenders...Will inherit the kingdom of God." "Offenders" could nullify that though.
  18. I think it'd be more accurate to say "Christians." 8-) Eh, I'm Christian, and I think you can deduct my perspective on this from my previous posts.

I've had a story in mind for a while now. I've always loved to draw maps (For no apparent reason, and I suck at all other forms of art), so I mapped an imaginary world where this would take place. From that, I expanded and thought of characters and a plot. I tried starting to write this past summer, I stopped after two pages or so. Eh. I'm just not motivated enough. And I've had plenty of video game ideas... :)
  20. Preordered my copy. (PC) Doesn't look like it'll be amazing...But hey, it's Lord of the Rings. Can't hurt.
  21. Oh fine, the fact that they got his sister one is pretty messed up. Especially a younger sister. But still.
  22. That'd be the spirit behind acts of selflessness. "X needs my help, so I'll help him". For some people, feeling fuzzy can be but a positive side-effect, and not the ulterior goal of their good deeds. Oh, I admit it, I don't always help others because I like helping others. Of course, I have a huge ego and thus I think helping others will make me look better. :P
  23. Be happy with what you got , did you actually asked for something specific? Yep. Here's how it went down. In September, I ask my parents if I can buy an Ipod Touch with my own money. They say no, and say that they'd give it to me for Christmas. Then in December, they say there isn't enough money to buy me one, so I figure, no big deal I'll buy one myself next year. All good, right? Wrong. They bought my sister one for Christmas, and she's a year younger than me. Like I said, life sucks. OH NO YOU DIDN'T GET AN IPOD TOUCH THE WORLD IS GOING TO END
  24. Unless you enjoy torturing yourself, that isn't volunteer work. I try to do the right thing simply because it's the right thing. ;)
  25. This is the error in your reasoning. Nobody does need a doctor. There is 3 needs in life to survive, Food, Water and Shelter. Electricity, clothes, transports aren't necessities, they are luxuries. Nobody needs a doctor to survive, they want to a doctor to prolong life. You also need organs... OMG I HAVE NO HEART BUT IM A OK also what about the homeless people? Homeless people don't have shelter? And often very little food/water. Edit: Oh, did you mean "If homeless people don't have shelter, how do they survive?" Well, they don't survive for long.
