What an unnecessary post. Warri0r used a perfectly apt analogy, so there's no reason to try to [cabbage] on it.

Recommend an artist/band to the poster above you

Both of you could try Mirrorthrone and Sworn. -
Angizia - Mein Jahr in Lemberg, 1911. Magnificent piece of music. Probably my favourite of theirs.

You failed to post the entire quote, which is "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life!" It's a happy message saying you should try to enjoy your life more. If I was feeling down, seeing that on a bus would probably cheer me up a bit.

You guys have too much free time. If I want to, I might be able to squeeze out 2-3 hours a week. Not that it's a high priority of mine to play video games.
-
Black Label Society next month (might see Monster Magnet too), Motörhead the next month... and then maybe Mustasch and Sonata Arctica somewhere inbetweeen, and in February I'm seeing Judas Priest, Megadeth, Testament (one concert), and a week later AC/DC. Also Edguy... not sure when though, but it's in February. I got free tickets for AC/DC otherwise I wouldn't go.

We've had 100/100mb connections available here in Sweden for a few years now. Costs about $37 a month.

That's a stunning guitar. I'm starting to itch quite bad for a new guitar again. I have a mental list of at least 9 guitars that I must buy at some point in life. I think I'm getting a Fender next... I'll also be getting the MXR Zakk Wylde overdrive pedal sometime soon. I hate myself sometimes, and I'm sure my future wife will do the same.

I just wikipedia'd them and you are WRONG! They were in 4th grade. The Jonas Brothers fan spotted.
-
I usually order from cdon.com, but i don't know if they ship outside of Scandinavia... I don't think so. They have about all i need. Same here, and on the off-chance that they don't have what I'm looking for I order from ginza.se. I doubt any of them ship outside of Scandinavia though. I've heard Play.com is good though.

I don't know who they are now, nevermind in 2001. (I had to check wikipedia, is that bad?) I'm guessing it's in the U.S. they're huge since they aren't big over here either. The kids at work however, will not shut up about them. Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers... apparently they make "music" and they have a goddamn cult following. It's insane. Oh, and they didn't exist in 2001 (they were in kindergarden), that's why I commented on it.

Are you constantly on acid or something when you post?

Jace Everett - Bad Things.

First hit for "world of warcraft": Also no hits for The Jonas Brothers or any relevant ones for 4chan. Such glorious times.

Can anyone recommend some good J-Pop singers/band/songs?
Azvareth replied to Latinoking's topic in Off-Topic
Isn't that what it is? I can't give any recommendations personally. But I think your best bet, since you're new to the genre, is to go on http://www.last.fm (create an account if you don't have one already) and search for the genre there. Search on youtube for the top results. -
Was planning to buy 21 albums originally, but ended up removing Scar Symmetry's Holographic Universe because I wasn't too excited about that one. :P

A few years ago I would've said the community. Back then I would keep a fairly good track of the other forums even if I didn't play RS, just because I thought the idea of people sharing their thoughts and ideas in this multitude to be very exciting and cool. Now it just feels very rehashed and redundant, since not much new is ever being said or posted. And back then I really did like most of the people who posted here, or at least thought them interesting. Now I could probably narrow it down to 10 people whom I find interesting, and maybe 5 whom I genuinely like. I think this is the main problem with forums that are free. A lot of people just don't have any incentive to try to come up with anything new. They just want their threads to be the most popular ones (why people here for example burst with pride at having x-amount of people CLICK their thread is completely beyond me), they could care less for the overall value of the thread in question. Not saying everybody is like this, but I'd wager most are. It's not all bad though. This place kindled my interest in learning about things, religion, politics, history, science. The only difference now is that I tend to go to other forums/places to learn and read about this stuff. I certainly do check these threads every once in a while here, because I do like my occasional dosage of heated debate - and in that area this place has a real knack for delivering in - and there are a few very intelligent and knowledgeable people here whose posts I generally like, but it definitely isn't my primary source. And when I first got here I could seriously hardly form a sentence in English, at least not not one that was correctly spelled and had proper grammar. This place has been brilliant to me in that department. Nowadays, and probably for the last 3 years, the reason I've continued going here is definitely for the familiarity, since I recognise most people who post here (in OT that is) and it's nice to know that some people perhaps recognise me as well. The second reason is probably because it's developed into a habit coming on here. I would feel a bit weird not visiting the forums for an extended period of time, since I've done it more or less daily for the past 7 years. Christ, I started browsing here when I was 13 years old... and I turn 20 in less than a month. It's funny though because regardless of all of this, I can't see myself ever stop going here. I'd have to be either banned (which isn't very unlikely), or have my Internet connection somehow taken away from me. Well played, Tip.It, well played.

Mirrorthrone - Ganglion French symphonic black metal!
-
Electric tuners are pretty damn accurate though? Use a tuning-fork then. Alternatively, develop a better music ear*. *kind of hard to do when your guitar is never properly tuned though!
-
I own a Dean 79 ML, with floyd rose, and trust me when I say that, unless you play on buying new pickups, it is not a metal guitar. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top used the ML on their early albums, which are mostly rock/blues oriented music. So yeah, don't let the shape of the guitar fool you. There are some cheaper ML models that cost $300-ish, though. If you want a metal guitar I would personally go for Ibanez, Shecter or Jackson.

Summoning - Land of the Dead. Hoooooly crap.

sweet OP really makes me want to watch this

From what I've understood it's not exactly 100% clear what they "believe". Through indoctrination they're brainwashed to believe in the Xenu stuff, body thetans, SPs and that they can achieve these amazing "powers" if you give the "church" all your money. Everything just gets gradually crazier the higher they reach. But shortly put, they basically believe they can save the world and that they are the only ones who can do it.
