Definitely. Hope to still see you around now and then, sir.

Of course, but until that time that they do move on to bigger and better things they don't have a major impact on my gameplay. At that time I will want them out not only for being detrimental to the game as a whole but because they directly harm me. However, we're not there yet. And even though it's inevitable that they will at least attempt to get there, you're okay with waiting for the problem to surface before wanting to do something about it, instead of pre-emptively solving it? Interesting.

Yep, they do that a lot...

You cannot prove something to be true; you can only prove something to be false. Thus the (US) court systems have the "prove beyond a reasonable doubt" bit for criminal cases (and "prove more likely than not" for civil).

I still don't see how it's that different from herb, or fm, or crafting, or any buyable skill. For all those skills, you can buy the stuff and save a ton of time by just doing the xp-bearing activities during BXPW. The only difference with summoning is that you can't buy the charms; you have to gather them manually. I don't really understand why that means it must be treated completely differently. (DIY accounts treat every "buyable" that way, gathering all the resources themselves. Should they then be limited to less bonus xp on all their skills? I understand that's a player choice, rather than the game creators' choice, but still.)

I dislike that they actively said not to prep for another, then changed their mind. Would've been fine if they said they were reconsidering the whole idea and then had another bxpw anyway, but actively saying not to prep for it bothers me. Yes, they're trying to prevent people from hoarding materials to resell at ridonkulous prices, which is nice - this is why I'm fine with them announcing it merely a week beforehand (I like that, actually) - but don't get into making white lies to accomplish your goals. It's just not a good place to be, either as a person or as a company.

This, but I hate the former a great deal as well.

Considering that the Terms of Use had players state that they were 13 or older (at least, till the invention of quickchat worlds), there's probably not anyone willing to state they were <13 when they maxed.

Saves an equal amount of time regardless of xp/hour. Although you do lose a bit since you'll have to travel around some. It'll probably be beneficial if fpf tickets don't work. To add to this, bonus xp saves an equal amount of time whether you spend your bonus hours getting 1-90 and then doing 90+ off bonus xp or if you get 1-90 beforehand then spend an equal amount of time during bonus xp getting 90+. Since it's actually a bonus for a period of time, rather than a specific amount of xp, it's actually rather different. At level 90, say, you have access to the best courses and can get a great deal of xp per hour - at level 1, you can get far, far less xp per hour because you can only use the starting course. While they both get doubled, the end result is still higher for 90+ than for 1-90.

Squeal of Fortune "Updates" was: Spin Results (970 spins)
Sorator replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
Are you able to trade/sell these? If so, a 600k gp award is not bad for an uncommon slot. If not, it's still interesting compromise between skill amulets and instant xp. I don't think the crates themselves are tradable, but the materials you get from them probably are. I was seriously debating between taking the crate and taking the 40k gold substitute, since I had no idea what would be inside... glad I took the crate! (121 blue drag leather and some thread for me.) -
Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
Sorator replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
Some of their recent re-works have been amazing. Granted they should be as polished on day of launch, but I really enjoyed the update temple trekking. Yeah, I really like the update to Al-Kharid, as well. Looking forward to them working on the rest of the desert. I do think many of their reworks wind up looking just a bit too... busy. Too much stuff going on to easily take everything in. But that's so far in the other direction, for Runescape, that it's okay, heh. -
Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
Sorator replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
Just because we can think of reasons it's a good idea, doesn't mean it should be done. I can think of reasons that pouring syrup over my head is a good idea (tasty! other people can lick me without being awkward!), but that doesn't mean I should do it. There are downsides to every potential change, and in this case those downsides massively outweigh the benefits. Also, you seem to be under the impression that maxing is bad... or at least, that we should have as few maxed players as possible. I can't say that I agree with that idea. For a lot of players, our end goal is to max, or get quest cape, or comp cape, or the like. Making any of those goals so far out of reach that less than 100 people of the thousands of players of this game could re-max is not a goal we should be aiming for. -
Might be difficult to manage that, if the player in question isn't clearly doing a particular method based on their xp gain (if they're gaining att/range/slay xp, clearly they're slaying with a cannon + melee wep, likely rapier) and isn't making videos on the subject.

Because all requirements should make comp cape much more difficult to obtain, rather than just slightly more difficult? I think it's fine that it doesn't take a massive amount of time to meet this single requirement. *shrug* I really want to get on and start getting double xp for my daily Robin ectoing, as Kimberly described. Of course, since I can't log in, I'm just sitting here and bouncing up and down. >.<

Probably going to use mine on QBD, but I'll seriously attempt to kill her for reals beforehand. I kinda think they shouldn't allow them to be used on quest bosses, and for non-quest bosses allow them only if you've killed them at least once without the dart beforehand... but I can see why they didn't do that. More fun for everyone if they don't put such limits on em. I'll just look down my nose at those folks, heh.

Well, this will make it harder to make fun of folks wearing completely wrong armor to certain areas. But otherwise, I like it! -
Botany Bay & Ozan Quest Double Bill - Sept. 26th, 2012
Sorator replied to Dexek's topic in General Discussion
I really want to get in on some of this action, but sadly I'm still in the midst of account recovery... e-mail me back, CustServ! Not too excited about Botany Bay itself (we get to vote on it being eaten wooo), but the other updates they're doing to deal with the bots behind the scenes are veeery cool. Neat to see that in-game reporting can have an immediate effect! -
Quite possibly both.

Or at least, no buy-able bonus xp. Troll invasion, penguins, effigies, etc. are still mildly fair in that everyone has equal access to them (assuming it's another members skill).
-
Yeah, I haven't been able to load any of the services.runescape.com pages (like newsposts, which I've been reading via Google cache) for the last week or so. (I play via the client, so that isn't an issue for me at least.)
-
Yeah, once you literally cannot gain any more XP, everything becomes XP waste, because you are no longer gaining xp. You are right that it would take less total time to get 200m and trimmed comp cape if you got the cape first, but if your highest priority is getting 200m all as soon as possible, then taking time off to do something else first would be silly. Not to mention that the time he'll be "wasting" to get the cape afterward is miniscule compared to the time he's spent on 200m all. tl;dr if you want to be more efficient then SUOMI, do it yourself Edit: Yeah, he probably should stockpile those peng points, and also wait to do troll invasion that month till he can use it on the new skill (and JoT, and some effigies, etc.). But because it takes a while before you can use lamps and such on new skills, it won't help that much.

What really happened regarding the GP dupe - 80B/HR
Sorator replied to jack994's topic in General Discussion
Well, there's always the technicality that they're committing fraud by selling something that doesn't belong to them (as technically everything in the game belongs to Jagex, not the players). Other than that... I dunno. But I do think that they'll get suckerpunched on tax evasion if they aren't very, very careful. -
Grinding 200ms is fun? Grinding spin-claiming is fun? Yes, we have that 10x button now, but it'll still take a decent bit of time to claim the $200 in spins per day, and you'll have to do it for a long time to actually hit 200m in anything.

Those two items: first is a Big Swordfish, second is the potion to turn a cat purple (have yet to use it on the cat I'm keeping, that's something to do to free up a space). Tabs: One is general stuff I use often, or that I used for something and have yet to put back into the proper place. Two is combat stuff that I don't use often; three is misc. stuff I don't use often but don't want to throw away (lots of quest stuff here), four is primarily non-combat clothing and unconventional jewelry (cramulet), five is summoning, six was originally magic & rc but gained other misc. teleports and other stuff I use on daily & farm runs (I should clean it out), seven is jewelry, eight potions and farming stuff, nine cooking and a bit of hunter stuff. I should indeed drop the glassblowers and nets and DAA; I was holding onto them to see how the toolbelt would work in practice, to make sure I wouldn't still need them. I'll sell the sticks (didn't know you could!) but keep the orbs, as I use those. Eggs should be in summoning, yep, cause I have one of each by now. I like keeping a few rune picks/axes for the odd time I run into the wildy to use em and don't want to risk the dragon. Thanks for the critique! And you're welcome to borrow the claws whenever you like if I'm not using them; just catch me when I'm on. ;) List of stuff for me to do: Use that darn purple cat potion. Put all my fishing bait into my tacklebox; sell whatever doesn't fit (not like Ima use it anyway). Sell glassblowing pipes, fishing nets, cake tins, misc. pouches I'll never use, slayer stuff in tab 3, toy horsey that I only use to troll gamblers, trading sticks Move the Hati stuff to poh where it belongs, also mining outfit Make all of the stupid crossbow hidey-holes to get rid of that bronze one that just looks at me as asks why I don't love it Ditch the DAA (it is reclaimable, right?)

Rate + give any advice on cleaning that you'd like to share. [spoiler=Big pic] I'll be adding one with pricing info once I finish researching all of this junk, lol. Edit: I max my MTK coffers whenever I visit (once or twice a month, roughly), and I have 158k in my moneypouch right now. Also all my barrows are at full charge or very close, and the gano is at like 20%. and my POH Costume Room has almost everything that can be put into it, apart from TT items and achievement capes. And I have a full toolbelt. Edit2: Here's the pic including prices; total value is 100.955mil. [spoiler=Another big pic] Space before cleaning: 84/88 and 467/468 Space after cleaning: 78/88 and 448/468
