Mining, been trying to put off training that skill for a while now. Maybe when I hit f2p I might get into some mining. But I think the last time I mined was nearly 5 years ago (And ironically all I did was mine at that time).

What is better for money? Combat or Skilling?
The_Fray replied to nerdboyxxx's topic in Help and Advice
Runecrafting all the way!! -
I completely agree with everything said by zaaps1. Just to add to that I would just like to say that, please try not to discourage people from pursuing their goals. In my case I used it as inspiration to get the levels that I desired but not everybody is going to do this. Many are going to get down on themselves and give up, so if you have nothing encouraging to say to them, it is best if you say nothing at all.

Go to world 144 and stand near the bank. Since the specials are almost guaranteed to get you the amount of damage you need to get PC points there in high demand there.I've also seen it used at barrows to do some nice fast damage to karil and ahrim. SGS is a far better general usage weapon, but you'll be able to lend D claws out easier and for more. Anybody can do enough damage in PC to get points, all you need is 50 damage you can get that from a dds spec as well. I see no reason why anybody would pay to borrow claws. SGS has far more uses and should undoubtedly have more demand.

Waterfiends, zamorak godsword or zamorak spear
The_Fray replied to z0diark's topic in Help and Advice
The Spear is undoubtedly superior here. All godswords except the SGS are useless at fiends. -
Well I am not too far from 88 runecrafting, perhaps a day of runecrafting should get me there. My question is how is the experience rate for someone with my runecrafting? Of course I wouldnt have cared much if I was f2p as the runecrafting experience in f2p is fairly slow but I was wondering whether this might be worth taking a look into. Is it possible for me to get my assist experience (30k) in less than an hour here? I might try posting in the RSOF thread if I cant get an answer here but I was hoping someone here has been there. Right now my current runecrafting experience is around 32-34k. I am using astrals tabs at the moment and if I know that the experience can be gained faster there I can go there as it saves me tabs as well as time.

Thanks for the replies so far. I want to make it clear though that I plan on planting yew trees as they seem to be the best experience for a casual farmer as myself. I also plan on planting coconuts as soon as I get the level. Money isnt too much of an issue but I would try to keep the loss as low as I can while still gaining fairly fast experience. I am runecrafting right now and farming seems to be great to train as a side skill. I could still use some more replies though, so keep them coming.

I have a few questions that I needed to ask. 1) Does your farming level have an effect on the likelihood of crops dying? 2) Is it worth paying the farmer to protect expensive seeds like yews? Anybody have an approximate rate at which yew trees die at? 3) Which herb seeds should I be planting? People tell me that snaps and ranarrs are good but the seeds are fairly expensive, would I make a higher profit planting toadflax?

Jagex MMG interview part 2 of 3, talking RuneScape
The_Fray replied to Amundogus2's topic in General Discussion
You are dead wrong on this, there are many of us that feel that the f2p game got much much better with the release of two minigames which were Fist of Guthix and the Great Orb Project. GOP has a fairly big following in f2p, on weekends sometimes there are so many people in the lobby that it is hard to even get into a team. I can easily say that despite its many faults GOP was definately a success (in my opinion). -
I am guessing you are f2p, then I would continue training at cows until you have stats good enough to kill flesh crawlers.
-
You cannot range effectively at your level, unfortunately you have to keep doing whatever it is you are doing.
-
Depends on if you are a member or non member. I would say if you are a member, play Stealing creation and get enough morphic hammers and use steel bars. In f2p anything other than superheating is not worth it.
-
I believe you would end up with around 91-92 magic with that money.
-
Quick experience. I used that route along with House tabs and Glory, which added a bit more time unfortunately. I think, at the peak, I managed around 1200-1400. I dont understand, wouldnt you make more money and get more experience if you used deaths? I dont see how natures are faster experience when the death rift is just as close as nature. Well in the case of the OP, he has 61 runecrafting which is not high enough for deaths but even then laws will be the better choice if you arent using a familiar.
-
Using mithril bars, according to current prices you lose about 27 gp. Using adamantite bars you lose about 24 gp. I think I have all the calculations right. In making your decision consider that with mithril, you have to bank less but with adamantite you get more smithing experience. I would go with mithril simply because it involves much less banking.

Why would you possibly want to do nats using the abyss if you do not have 91 runecrafting?
-
You do not have to though, 70 range is the minimum to achieve the cape but understand that as long as you have prayer switching down, the caves will not be very hard at all.
-
Yes you can, as far as I know. Just try to avoid doing it so often that it becomes an annoyance to the mods. As far as your original question, I havent got the slightest clue.
-
I am fairly sure all of them are possible. Dont know much about DK's but your meelee stats are good enough for most (if not all) boss monsters in this game.
-
Just tested it, it is still 9984.
-
Its fine if you dont want to raise defence but you need to make up those levels by training range. If I were you I would train range to about 85+ before I even consider trying it. You will likely need lots of purple sweets, we also need to know your budget and what you are willing to spend on it. You will need a fair amount of patience and money as your stats are not ideally suited for the caves.

Cheapest/fastest way to get to 80 crafting.
The_Fray replied to BlueBuddy's topic in Help and Advice
Join a non combat SC clan and it will be much faster. Oh and my question is why not do green dragonhide bodies, it isnt that much more expensive and you avoid the entire junk problem? -
Don't worry, my GOP days are now over :P Thanks all I hope this sour experience has not taken away your interest in the game. Some of the best players forget that their wand is on repel especially after mind. It all really depends on how fast you are to react to it, if you see that you are repelling the orb, immediately click the ground and stop. I myself sometimes forget that I have my wand on repel but it takes me like a second to realize but as you can imagine it is still quite embrassing.
-
Yes GOP is extremely profitable but a better way to earn money is to earn tokens in F2p and spend money on pure essence.
-
I am fairly sure that it would not be. I would do deaths using the abyss and a familiar, deaths are at the current market price 285ea. I would only do graahk if you want xp, and even then if xp was what you wanted ZMI is a much better option.
