    Tipitopia!

but the caves are for the trolls. it should be a crewbie cabana. that works. Make the more detailed map be awesome and not too colorful. Have we decided on wether or not we'll have a dome over the islands? Also, what about our military? where will the bases be? I'm thinking we could use the tip.it zombie defense force as the starting military force, and work from there.

    Tipitopia!

It's a well known fact that all staff buildings have to be alliterations. So, it's Mod Mansion, Admin Abode, Crewbie Caves, TET Towers etc. I'm gonna make a detailed map. It shall be amazing.
  3. Yah, I have some trees in my backyard that are close to 100 ft tall. If I remember right, fires in redwoods burn inside of the trees, rather than the outside, so it would still be a threat, but we would be able to get out in time. And if a zombie gets into the base in the trees, we do the unthinkable. Shoot them. Or smash them. Whatever. Zeppelins would be pretty sweet, but I think they would be better for escaping or clearing areas than living in. Like, you could fill a zeppelin with snipers, and they would be completely safe.
  4. Not a muman made moat. For example, at niarga falls there is a nifty little island right by the falls called goat island. No way to get across without a bridge. We get on that, and we're set. If thousands of zombies were coming at us, some would come in further upstream would hit the island.

Maybe the vikings could atleast have a secret place for meetings. Tet/au gets a Colosseum.
  6. Basically, the ark, where most of the game takes place, is outside of the galaxy (if I remember right) and thus outside the range of all the rings. He fires a tactical pulse from the half-built halo, which destroys the ark and all the flood on it, which I think was pretty much all the flood, since the gravemind and such were there. He and the arbiter fly off through the portal, but the portal collapses as hes going through. Then, if you watch till the end of the credits, you see him in the half of the ship floating in space, and he goes into chyrogenic sleep. Then the camera zooms out and shows the ship floating towards a planet with citys and such on it.
  7. The throwing knife glitch was due to the fact that when they came out, the programmer accidentally messed up and made their bonuses stack, so instead of the range bonus being, say, +10 no matter how many knives you had equipped, it would be +20 if you had 2, +1000 if you had 100 etc. People would equip 10,000 bronze throwing knives to get +100,000 range attack bonus, which would make them hit their max every time. I remember that. The original knife glitch was before my time though. But I was training range before the throwing knife glitch, then after an update or something I noticed I was hitting higher way often, for like a day. Then I noticed the +65000 range bonus.
  8. Heh. My parents both requested to be my friend on fb, but I just ignored them.
  9. I'm only a quarter white (one of my parent's dad was white). The topic of race rarely comes up for me, but if anyone says anything I would consider racist to me, I usually just laugh it off. I don't really think a lot of things that people think are racist actually are racist.
  10. Prove it. Just saying. As for you, no_99_melee I really feel bad for you two. As a start, how old are you both? Because that can determine what you can and can't do. If you can afford it, or can get a job, or whatever, try to visit her as often as possible. Try to keep the relationship alive over the distance, and if it works out, one of you might be able to move to the other eventually, if you each feel that strongly. Good luck.
  11. If we follow the zombie survival guide definition, they can't really climb anything complicated. I think it was said that maybe 1/10 could make it up a ladder, but they could pull themselves up and over objects up to 5 feet high. And a walkway 1 m off the ground, that's just 3 feet. Even the shortest of the zombies could reach the walkway. Not a good idea. Surely the zombieswill stockpile anyways, slowly building a staircase? You'd need a wall like this: -- \ \ \ \ l | | | | Edit: that doesn't work on tipit. Just quote me and view my post from there to get a better idea. With some barbed wire, making it hard/impossible to climb? Might not stop them, but slow them down considerably. They would sort of pile on top of eachother, but they can only go so high. And I'd think a slanted wall would only make it easier to climb. And barbed wire wouldn't do much, other than tangle them up, since they don't feel pain.

  13. I have cod4 for computer, and WaW for 360. That switch will probably take a bit of getting used to, because I have my mouse set to the perfect speed for sniping on my PC, and it'll be atleast slightly different on 360.
  14. Last year I was sleeping over at a friends house, and they have this big glass window that runs along the side of his room, and there was the biggest thunderstorm I've ever seen. We stayed up watching it for about 3 hours (it was around 3 am when it started). There was so much lightning that there weren't even any gaps between strikes, and there was almost constant thunder. It was incredible.
  15. I'm thinking about trying this online. I normally only play cod4, and I'm pretty good at. Any major changes that I should know about in how the game itself is played?
  16. I've gotten more into sniping recently. I like the r700 in a way, just because it's more of a challenge. It's also a bit more accurate than the barett, which at long distances is noticeable. I like it because it basically follows the strategy of 1 shot, 1 kill. I can pull off a kill just about every shot with it, unless I'm unlucky and hit their leg. The barett is almost too good sometimes. I was using it on one of the city maps, the teams were about 10vs10, and the other team was all coming down one central path. With one clip I got something like 9 kills, in a matter of seconds. One thing I wish would be possible would be if you could put a silencer on one of the snipers, but since realistically, silencing a sniper rifle completely would require a huge silencer, maybe make it so your dot on the minimap appears for a short amount of time.
  17. Hey, until a few weeks ago, I was a 15 year old girl playing left 4 dead (now 16). And I like to think that I'm atleast pretty good at this game. haha.
  18. What about roving bands of thieving gypsies? But seriously, if you build a big tunnel system, isn;t it likely that the ground above may become too weak from all the space underneath it and everything will just collapse? Good if the zombies have broken in, but very bad if you haven't gotten out. That's another reason it's a bad idea. And regardless, making a ten foot wall surrounding a large area is a whole lot easier than digging an entire cave system out under that same area. It would be safer too, and would allow us to actually have a renewable source of food. An escape tunnel out of a walled area would be nice, but living there would not be a good thing.
  19. Tunnels require a lot of a maintenance, and would be difficult, and there would be no way to get food. It would stop zombies, bandits, whatever, but we would only be able to stay alive as long as our food lasted. It might be a nice idea to have a tunnel system under a stronghold as a last ditch escape. An escape tunnel filled with supplies would probably be the best thing. If the exit of the tunnel was solid metal, there would be no way zombies could get in. So, living in a tunnel system probably wouldn't work too well, but tunnels along with a normal stronghold would be good. The food problem is why location is very important. If you can find an area where you can make a tunnel network and allow the general flora and fauna above your head to do it's thing, then you have both a very defensible location and a large food supply. Also, it shouldn't be extremely difficult to grow your own food, especially if you have one or more strongholds for the various entrances. For the maintenance problem, that's why you'd need to have both people who know that sort of thing well (miners might work, especially if you're in an area like West Virginia), and a good number of people to assist in the maintenance. I'm not sure what a good group size would be, but if you can get a large group to work together (shouldn't be hard when they know that zombies are inbound), it shouldn't be too hard to maintain anything you make. For the metal entrances idea, while that would help immensely against zombies and other similar-intelligence people, it would be a huge sign to anybody able to think that there's looting to be done. It wouldn't be ill-advised to make the non-fortified entrances fairly deep, so as to create the illusion that it's a natural one. Bandits might select it as a place to hang out at, but they probably wouldn't be suspecting an attack from deeper in the cave. For a start, you overestimate the amount of food that a single area can provide if it's just "doing it's own thing." Thousands of years ago, people survived only by hunting and gathering. The only way they were able to do this though, was by constantly moving. There are only so many deer, rabbits, moose, or fish in one area. Only so many berries and edible plants. But again, living in a tunnel system alone is not a good idea. Imagine what an earthquake would do, or even a flood. Mine collapse all too often around the world, and those have machinery to help insure their safety. I still think a normal stronghold, with an escape tunnel would be the best compromise. If somehow the stronghold's defenses were breached, we could fall back to the secondary defenses of the tunnel, and if need be, escape through it. The area where I am planning to go would not have much of a problem with bandits, most likely. It's quite isolated, and bandits would more likely be in higher populated regions.

  21. I completely disagree with this. Rares have always been a thing that someone can work towards, save money for, and so on. I don't want to see thousands of people running around with party hats, that would just be stupid. I know at least four people with more than the max amount of gp you can have in rares, and what happens to them? It's like this. The most expensive painting in the world was sold for 145 million dollars. This painting serves no purpose, other than for looks. While it may not be the best comparison, since there's only one of this painting and there are as many as a few thousand party hats, it still works. Now, if there were 25 million paintings that were exactly the same, they were free, and everyone had one, it wouldn't matter. They wouldn't be special. Personally, I'd much rather work to get a party hat than to get one for free, and everyone else gets one too. Is it fair that a level 3 account that started way back then has more money than most people get in their entire rs career? No. But that's how it is. Party hats and rares are one of the few real status symbols in runescape. There are a few things, like 3rd age, but that's about it. So in short, no. What? A kid in America could be born into a wealthy family, inherit millions, and never have to work a day in his life. Meanwhile, a kid in africa is born into a family with no money, get's a easily treatable disease, but they can't afford the medicine, and dies. How the hell is that fair. I could get cancer. There's nothing I did to make me have cancer, but I could die from it. How is that fair? I could be born with an incurable disease that makes living suffering. How is that fair? I could win the lottery, and be set for life for doing nothing. how is that really fair?
  22. First it was cockroaches and now babies? How can any living organism survive nuclear radiation? A few feet of any reasonably dense substance could protect you from 99% of the radiation. Also, water bears could survive radiation pretty well. But those things survive everything.
  23. Anything big would take a long time, and although some sort of palisades would be very good, it would take months if not years to complete with a limited number of people. If nothing else, the place where I'm thinking I would go is very isolated, and there wouldn't be zombies there. or atleast not many.
  24. A circle is the most efficient, but I have a feeling we would build what we can. And a circle might be harder to build. As for heating, I know what you mean, but if we only have a small one or two room cabin, it would probably take less wood to heat than a full house. And the safety in winter months might make up for the fact that we would have to get firewood.
