2008 Presidential Election

Featured Replies

It's a bit early, but it's better to start it off early than late. So, who are you going to support for 2008? And who do you think will be the front runners?

Here's the major candidates:

Republicans:

Rudy Giuliani-

Mitt Romney-

John McCain-

Sam Brownback-

John H. Cox-

Duncan Hunter-

Ron Paul-

Michael Smith-

Democrats:

Hillary Clinton-

Barrack Obama-

Joe Biden-

Christopher Dodd-

John Edwards-|

Al Gore-

Mike Gravel-

Dennis Kucinich-

I support Rudy Giuliani and Barrack Obama, and I foresee the front runners coming down to Hillary verses Giuliani.

Obama

Since I don't know who the Socialist Party's candidate is yet. I think it hasn't been chosen.

Feel free to quote me when I say that there is no chance a Republican is going to be President in '08.

I'm pretty confident we'll either have the first female President, or the first black President. Not sure which at this point. Maybe Oprah should run and win both of those titles. Haha.

Obama is getting my vote, Why Hillary as a front runner? Is it because shes leading the polls? FYI Hillary is ahead in polls by 15%. You might want to add Al Gore to your list for democrats.

Hillary Clinton is so wildly polarizing that i highly doubt she'll win the primary, much less the election.

If enough people can remember Guliani, then he'll end up with the nomination, but 6 years to the American public is like a thousand decades.

Mccain's been my state senior senator since I knew what politics were, and i've met him twice for high school rotc stuff. Really cool dude.

Stupid me not turning 18 untill one month AFTER the election... <.< *grumblegrumble*

Anyway, if I could vote, I would definately vote for Edwards. Unless Gore suddenly decided to run. Then I'd vote for Gore.

Obama definitely! Clinton is... okay, but he's somebody that could draw votes from everywhere!

Obama, Obama, and Obama! I hope Americans do something right.. for once.

I used to live in NYC and lived there during 9/11, guiliani is one of the most hated people in NY because of his incompetence as a leader

He served two terms as Mayor of New York City (1994̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ2001), during which time he was credited by many with initiating improvements in the city's quality of life and with a massive reduction in crime that would by 2005 make New York City the country's safest major city."[1] Others, however, criticized him as divisive and authoritarian.[2] He then gained national attention for his leadership role during and after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center[3]

That Giulliani figure doesn't look very honest. I'm going for the black man.

I'm going for the black man.

Ditto, haven't read any of his policies but he's a good speaker, I like him.

For any of you who've read Tom Clancy's Executive Orders, he most reminds me of Jack Ryan, and he's what I think a proper president should be.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

I'm probably voting for Obama because he seems like a no-nonsense, no BS guy and doesn't have the "politician" attitude. He's had the chance to slander people that have been slandering him, and he's refused to do so. THAT is a leader...It's refreshing and I believe the American public will see that aswell, if they haven't already. I mean, they're taking so many stupid cheap shots at him already. And why? Because it's already looking like he's going to get a ton of votes, and they're running scared. They're slandering him for going to a Muslim school, for being half black half white, and the latest I've heard, is that his great great great grandfather was Irish and MAY have owned slaves, or something. No, no evidence, he just MIGHT have because he was a white male in the correct time era. Give me a break.

Hilary would probably make a good President, but she's all anti-video games and stuff, which to me screams "GERIATRIC, TYPICAL POLITICIAN." Obama is a young guy and can relate more to the countries problems of today, rather than the problems of yesterday.

As I said before, not even the religious right vote will get a Republican in office this time around. Don't waste your votes, guys. Just vote for the best Democrat or Independant. :P

Oh, I hope I didn't tick anybody off by saying "The Black Man" btw.

Obama is the best choice this time around.

Gore second choice, and Hilary Clinton third.

If i were Republican it would have to be Rudy Giuliani. I guess it will be between Obama and Giuliani.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Oh, I hope I didn't tick anybody off by saying "The Black Man" btw.

Well, he is black...You don't owe any easily-offended weirdo any apology.

Oddly enough I think Obama's middle name will be his biggest weakness. I mean Hussein? People will be kinda scarred of that even if it it a stupid reason. I'm hoping either Giuliani or McCain. Also I don't think people here are giving Mitt Romney very good odds but he's quite popular in certain areas. Ultimately I just hope its a Republican, but from the looks of it if I had to honestly pick who I think has the best chance of winning I'd probably say Gore or Obama. No one likes Clinton and people (as sad as I am to say it) are pissed at Republicans.

That Giulliani figure doesn't look very honest. I'm going for the black man.

Ha, imagine saying that in the US elections 40 years ago.

Hell...even 10 years ago.

Obama! but of course it'll end up being the worse person possible.

Most people don't know his middle name. I watch the news all the time and I wasn't aware of it until someone here said it.

It's going to be McCain and Obama or Clinton, and McCain is pro-war, so he's not getting elected. I honestly don't know if it's going to be Clinton or Obama yet. Neither are showing signs of weakness.

This is the US flag after Hillary gets into office (seen on a hilarious website about Presidential candidates):

After looking around I've decided I believe it'll come down to Giuliani or McCain (because McCain will get most far-right's votes) vs. Obama.
