The compulsive eating gene, however, is like anything else...It can be controlled if you have the will to control it. I used to eat too much, but I realized I had about 20 extra pounds on me and stopped...Lost it in 2 weeks and have kept it off for the last 3 years or so just off will power. Pretty easy. It exists, scientist found it. It's linked to your metabolism. This means people who are born with it have a slower metabolism. This also means that people with the "fat gene" when loosing weight, can only loose weight to a certain extent. It's been proven that when someone overly overweight looses weight through dieting, there's a point where your body slows down your metabolism because it doesn't want you to loose anymore weight.
