Andrews2
what do you do to train, pc or normal training When training melee? I actually did a little experiment between the both. Ok so i joined a pc clan, and did some tests. On average it took me about 50 points to get in an hour. So 2 hours = 100 points= around 100k exp depending on your level(mine was 80ish at the time), and 100 cmb was 100k gp.(1k gp per game) So 100kish exp and 100k gp not bad right? so i went and trained on ankous for the same amount of time. i got around 176k exp in 2 hours with good drops: 210 bloods, 180 deaths, 10 laws 1.6k gp, 3 weapon poisens 11 noted mith, 120 p ess noted and 73 addy arrows pretty good also right? deaths=180*300=54k bloods=210* 600=126k 10 laws=5-10k weapon poisen=3*2.5k=7.5k mith=11*450=4,950 gp p ess=120*120=14.4k addy arrows=73*150=10,950 gp add that all together and you get 224.3k Lets compare PC= pest control NT= normal training PC= 100k exp & 100k gp NT=176k exp & 224.3k So far NT looks best for exp and cash, But you have to incorperate the expensives of food for NT. As in PC if you die you lose nothing. (please don't make me calculate that up..) Well i rather use NT than PC, waiting for good PC worlds to be found or trying to find them yourself is such a hassle. So, do you use PC or NT? And if NT do you do slayer while trying to lvl?
spikerkid
I'd still go with pc even though I hate it. It's just faster imo. I only pc for str/mage. Everything else is slayer. btw like anyone would do: FIRST P0ST!!11!! Quit RuneScape :)
Nero
I train with normal combat, not with slayer though, I just train on whatever I feel like. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino

CubeMage128
I think it really depends on the skill you're training with PC, and your combat levels. If you use your PC points on Magic or Ranging, you get more experience per hour, AND you don't have to use arrows or runes. Also, PC is the way to go if you want to level Hitpoints faster, or even Prayer, when you don;t have any bones. However, Melee is still efficient enough to be trained the traditional way. compfreak847
If you have the right clan, and equipment you can do 100 points in an hour and a half. :D 100 points in an hour and a half is average - I can easily get 80 points an hour with HU. That's around 90k xp an hour from points alone, and I average around 150 damage a game (four dd++ specs and a few hits with the whip). That's 12k damage, or 48k xp an hour from the hits. Add that to the 90k xp from points and you get about 140k xp an hour. That's a realistic average, believe it or not - level 120's can get 160k+ an hour. However, this kind of xp can only be obtained with HU (I've tried other clans, but they just don't have the same "around 30 second" game time as HU) I doubt you can get 78k an hour from ankus, but even then pc beats it to pieces. Also, compare the drops - 110k an hour from ankus (not bad - but probably very lucky) but 60-80k cash an hour guaranteed. My final xp and money comparison: PC: Ankus: XP an hour: 140k-160k 60-70k? Money an hour: 60-80k 110k? In the end, if you spend one half the time training with PC, you can spend the other half nat crafting/merchanting for much greater profits. In case you can't tell, I love PC, and regardless of the army chanting "PC NOOB!!11!", i'm proud of it! It's a minigame designed by Jagex; not a cheat code. Anyway, in case you can't tell, I prefer PC to any kind of training. Sorry if something in my post is wrong - and to those who do not believe me, i'd like another HU member to confirm that 80 points an hour is entirely possible. darkstar4441
You can get close 100 points an hour pretty easily, not to mention the exp you get for attacking, and killing things. The money builds up pretty well, also. I'd say PC is better for blitzing things, but for the chance of getting good drops, and decent exp with it I'd say non-pc (not sure what to all it) is better. Celt23
I use pest control if I can but finding a good clan and finding someone to ask to join and ask the world after that can be hard. Also normal training can be less repetitive IMO.
tylersk8shop
I do normal training, I dont like PC, And I get way better exp training, It all depends what Im killing aswell. If I do desert bandits with guthans, I gotta pay for the repairs, And its horrible drops. If its slayer, I usually get alright drops and some good exp. 128+ Combat \\ 1900+ Total Level \\ 85M+ EXP5,999th To 99 Woodcutting Achieved June 27, 200766,931st To 99 Strength Achieved January 23rd, 2009Draconic Visage: 1+ \\ DK Drops: 169+ \\ GWD Drops: 74+
Rebdragon
Pest Control. It's better and faster (and less dull, in my personal opinion) than normal training, unless one is training Slayer. Anyways, I just don't want anyone coming in here acting "macho" by saying they don't do Pest Control and they're cool because they train against monsters. If you have a very good reason why you do normal training (or PC as well), say why. Dat's all. Oh, and no one should be ashamed that they PC- it's the fastest way to train (in nearly all circumstances). I still think PC should go back down into the earth the depth of nine skies, but it's still the best way to train. vilageidiotx
I still do normal, with slayer as much as possible. I never could get into pest control, bores me to death. Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Winner5555
depends what combat you are, but i'd have to say pc is the better xp, but not nearly as fun. I pc'ed from 94-99 mage, was great xp and gained about 3m doing it, but I kinda regret it because it makes me feel like i'm taking the easy way out instead of facing it full on in combat and learning to deal with it. 621st person to achieve 99 slayer on December 3rd, 2007177th person to 99 summoning on June 21st, 2008

Freesia
I don't choose what monster i feel like meleeing. It's either pest control or normal training Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(. imaerehw14
I dont think i would pc for levels unless they were mage, range, or prayer. I like to train mele on actual monsters to get drops/slayer levels.
mrpez
I don't like Pest Control bashers. Mainly the only people that train there are level 100+. Is it better to macro at bandits or Stronghold spiders than play Pest Control? I personally trained to 100 combat from Pest Control, and it helped me get 94 magic. Now I'm training slayer because Pest Control got boring.

mikehild
I'm training ranged through pest control right now, instead of killing dustdevils, simply because it's faster. I've had my goal of 99 ranged sitting idle for long enough. The sooner that awesome cape is sitting on my back, the better.
