Sir_Alex85
do a striptease :D :D :D YAY! I've got a Samsung, personally..It's been working pretty good. 20 gig'D. But I have nothing against iPods...I've heard that some batteries were expensive, but I've also heard otherwise. I've never used a Zune, but they seem pretty cool. ;P I don't know anyone with one, though. It really has
The_Dragon_Reborn
My 4-month-old niece has an iPod lol!!! Anyway I prefer to fight the power! Actualy I'm not really a music person plus if you listen to an iPod for more then 30min a day with the volume above half then you damage your ears. I listen to my iPod for roughly 6 hours a day, with the volum about 3/4s of the way up, and my hearing hasn't suffered at all. I bought a Creative Zen:Touch. It was awesome. Sure, it was black and white simple font (like the original iPod), but it was 20GB, and worked well enough...for about a year. It just stopped. Then, I bought myself a 30GB iPod Video, and it didn't work strait out of the box. So, I went down and bought a 30GB Creative Zen:Vision M. It was an awesome player, except mine was faulty, and on the 31st day I had it, it died (the return policy was only good for 30 days. ). So, I waited about a month, and bought a 4GB silver iPod Nano. So far, it has worked wonders (although I can only fit about 750 songs of my 1000 on it). I gave my Zen Touch to my friend to see if he could fix it, and he made some progress on it last night. He got it to turn on, and all of my old songs are still on it. He's giving it to me later on today, and I should hopefully be using it then too. That would be awesome if it still worked. Bottom Line: I have bad luck with mp3 players, going through 4 in a span of about 1.5 years. ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet. MyPurpleCrayon
So wait, you made this topic because iPod's don't last forever? Please, show me a piece of technology (that you'll use as much as an iPod) that will. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so. Nadril
I listen to my iPod constantly and I've had it for probaly over 3 years now. And especialy as of lately since I've been working I will listen to it for 6 hours a day or so while working and it still works fine, hasen't given me a single problem yet. (And its an older model). Maybe it is the 'mp3 player of the masses' but it works well and sounds damn good. btw, I actualy read yesterday that the pope got an iPod. :-$

Mercifull
Ive got an iPod and its a good few years old now with no problems as yet. Ive charged it via the usb dock, the standalone charger, the standalone speakers and also in-car and never had any problems. Alley_Oops
I have an ipod but I do agree that it is somewhat overrated. There are lots of mp3 players out there just as capiable as the ipod and even better. Ipod as even become the term for any digital media player or the like. Bubsa
So, you hate Apple, but like Microsoft. Wow, I seriously can't take anything you'll ever say seriously. To put it this way: iPods are to mp3 players as Hoovers are to vacuum cleaners. Both have become the symbol of the product, while better products exist, eg: Zens, Dysons. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
rocketman089
I've had the same 4g ipod for 2 years now, and it still runs pretty darn well. I had to send it iPod ResQ a few months ago because some gizmo inside it was broke, but it was $90 well spent repairing it over buying a new one for $300. I don't really listen it much anymore unless im doing schoolwork or something but ill put it to good use again next year when i start college. runescapeloser22
Her iPod was defective if that happened to it :? And my neighbor sent her iPod to Apple when her battery died and they replaced it for free in two weeks... P.S. Lion
I listen to my iPod nano for at least 6 or 7 hours a day, sometimes longer if I'm working extra shifts. When I get home I place it in its docking station and use it as a stereo while it charges. I do this every day without fail, and I've never experienced a single problem. Perhaps your cousin's product was just faulty? :? I realise there are probably better products available as an alternative, but I don't see why it really matters. 4gb is large enough for my music, it's compatible with podcasts so you can listen to radio shows whilst working and the interface is intuitive and user friendly. At the end of the day, it plays music and has decent sound quality. The brand isn't really that important. In conclusion: I am an iPod fangirl. Icingdeath
iPod is a great brand, but I dislike it all the same. I have a Creative Zen Micro, which I wouldn't trade for anything. It bothers me when people go 'Hey nice iPod!!'. Not every MP3 player is a stinking iPod. That's like back in the day, we'd call all video game systems a 'Nintendo', or all facial tissues a 'Kleenex'. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways. np_tyler
I've got a white 2GB iPod Nano... although, it's been taken away from me for a while from my parents... long story. One of the reasons I got an iPod is that they work with iTunes and the iTunes Store, which is pretty sweet... :-s - Np Tyler
baron8000
To put it this way: iPods are to mp3 players as Hoovers are to vacuum cleaners. Both have become the symbol of the product, while better products exist, eg: Zens, Dysons. Exactly so, in my short stint as a customer service guy at a leading electronic store it was really depressing to see customers come in and say... "I want an ipod for my daughter" "well we have this ipod for (insert price) or we have this sony/creative/other which is better for less money" "no she wants an ipod" They didn't laugh a few months later when it came back broken  I even got the reward of serving them a replacement (they bought a sony  )
Mercifull
Yay for anecdotal stories. The most accurate and non bias you can get  not Why would an electronics store offer a cheaper alternative to someone, virtually all of them get commission? I call BS on your story. If the iPod broke they would repair/replace it. Plus the Sony ones are rubbish. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. baron8000
I used to work for comet, no we didnt get commission - they abolished it for precisely those reasons as have PC world, Currys and Dixons as far as I know. Also don't think that commission is based purely on price - plenty of times cheaper products would earn more commission - I'll even go into how salesmen used to know how much a products commission was before they stopped awarding it, M'kay? P.S. I've had a sony for 3 years, never broken - but that might be because I take care of it :)
Mercifull
My reasons for saying the Sony is rubbish is not based on its reliability but that it looks ugly, the interface is hard to use and the software that comes with it on your pc is poor Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Bauke
Eh? An iPod conspiracy because the battery won't last forever? Nonsense. Almost all players coming out these days contain a lithium-ion battery. And yes, they don't last forever, but long enough to have lots and lots of fun of it. iPods suck but this topic is funded on a load of crap.
