Pokemon the card game is a pointless waste of your time while you could be playing bridge or spades with playing cards. Pokemon the video game is terribly addicting and very fun. :D

I hate Pokemon though still love the original games. They were all pretty good until you got past Gold and Silver. Ruby and Sapphire were okay and then the ones after that sucked. Not sure about Pearl and Diamond though.

All of the games before crystal were good..then once it hit Ruby and Sapphire, pokemon ruined itself. Now it is the flaming poopstain of a ruined franchise. The TCG was good originally..before they released 10,000 new cards and the E-reader.

 

 

 

It was good before it tried to follow the path of yu-gi-oh! and release 10,000 and a half games, 500 series of cards, and some lame TV shows. The original shows were decent though..

 

 

 

Anyways. I'm not 9 anymore..I'm 14 and instead of Pokemon I have Cradle of Filth and Final Fantasy \,,/(o.o)\m/

I hate the new tv shows. I don't actually play the game anymore, but I have some friends who have the new ones on DS. They're pretty good.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do. I used to play Red when I was 8-10. Then I just stopped, I moved on.

 

 

 

To me, Poke'mon is a fad gone wrong. Let's take and honest look at the games. It's very, very basic RPG formula. While this can be fun, I think there's a lot of other games (such as the older Final Fantasy games, or the remakes) pull it off a lot better.

 

 

 

The anime, dubbed or not, is garbage. I'm pretty sure most people here would agree with this, I don't even have to go into detail.

 

 

 

The card game...Meh, dunno. I never really got into the card game (Or any card game, for that matter :-s ).

 

 

 

I think Poke'mon is a gimmick, but I gotta say that it was fun playing on my OLD GB. After that, I found better games and animes, and just moved on.

Silver was alright, even though I cheated alot of the PokeMon. Sapphire was okay, still play it sometimes. Ranger is alright but it annoys me alot.

I'll bet you any money they will make that once Nintendo releases the next hand held console (in maybe 4 years), and it will be a huge success.

The new two versions of Pok̮̩̉̉mon effectively are a half-MMORPG in themselves, with the GTS system and the ability to now battle people across the planetusing NWC. Fansites such as Pok̮̩̉̉mon.Marriland are flourishing, and are actually coming quite close to even Tip.It's population!

 

 

 

The comments about there being 500 Pok̮̩̉̉mon are ridiculous. If anything, the copious amount of monsters available adds a hugely exciting factor to the game, one that RS seems to lack. Pok̮̩̉̉mon has the ability to use dozens of different strategies with hundreds of different Pok̮̩̉̉mon and several different types, and each one of those strategies being able to work. In RS, it's purely the person with the most money/best equipment wins. There's no diversity. I personally love how Ninty keep adding new options to Pok̮̩̉̉mon.

I'm going to have to agree with that. The Red, Blue version were some of the best games I've ever played. I like the Silver and Gold versions, though.

 

 

 

I don't see why there is so much crap. New people each time, crazy pokemon names, and now the amount of Pokemon in the new versions. It's too much to handle >.<.

 

 

 

I think that Nintendo made a very nice decision going on to make those games, and Pokemon was something that got them named one of the big brands of gaming.

I half agree with you. Nintendo is far better than Jagex will ever be. Jagex has one main game, Nintendo has several gaming consoles and games from several different genres. To compare the two isn't even worth the time, as Nintendo blows Jagex away. However, Pokemon and Runescape are about equal, in my opinion.

 

 

 

Pokemon has more options, as you can choose to train just one type or all types. You can choose your favorites and train them, or you can train all different ones. Evolve or don't. Fill your pokedex or only catch ones you like for whatever your reason.

 

 

 

Runescape has 3 basic options. Pk, merchant or skill. It has things to do that Pokemon does not, such as mining. Runescape gives much more freedom in your "career choice" as well, unless one of the online pokemon games has this.

 

 

 

For the time being, I will continue to play Runescape AND the Pokemon games on gameboy.

Pokemon was great. To me though, there is no such thing as a Pokemon over the number of 151.

 

 

 

I loved the Red and Blue versions, but the new generations of Pokemon are just stupid. I mean... It really looks as though they're getting desperate for new Pokemon. I even heard that they recently added 15 new legendary Pokemon. I mean, c'mon. What will "legendary" Pokemon be worth when every one of them is legendary? #-o And the old legendary Pokemon mean nothing. :( Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres were awesome! And now, they're just... worthless compared to the legendary Pokemon that control time and space and all that stuff. :P

The original Gameboy games are neat though, the best Gameboy games I've played on a handheld, no doubt about it.

 

 

 

Only the gameboy ones were. After they made the show, the card games, it just got old/too much stuff was added and lost it's touch.

Agreed. I lost interest after red/blue (although it may be because I wasn't 11 years old anymore =x). Too many pokemon, I was fine with the original 151.

Wow..after reading the 2nd and 3rd page now..i realise that We the majority.. are all old schoolers......Red and blue nothing will ever come close to the Fame and glory they possed...long after there internal battery has died..they will still live on...man..those were the good old days..

I think how far they've taken Pokemon is ridiculous, I personally like the original Red, Blue, and Yellow and also Gold and Silver (and Crystal). To me the Gold and Silver was the peak of Pokemon, after that all the new ones and places have just completely destroyed the franchise.

I managed to finish the game ages before my friend (we had red and blue) by going thru some cave without a pokemon that lit everything up. By sheer luck i managed to make it though to the other side lol. The only pokemon i didnt get was a Tauros or whatever the bull type creature was and Mew.

I played right upto Gold/Silver, they were awesome games, the show, never watched it.

 

 

 

On Gold, I had all 250, and me and my mate were doing that mystery gift cheat so you could turn the clock back and do mystery gifts all day.

 

 

 

And at the start menu I accidently pressed down insted of up (I think it was that way around) and wasn"t paying much attention, clicked yes as normal then the display read 'Game data successfully erased', maybe some of you guys over in America may have heard the screams?
