April 15, 200719 yr Viktor, a flat tax benefits the rich corporations. Depending on how you look at it, we could vary it, 10-15% perhaps. That's how it is now. As people/corporations make more money, the % of money taken out for taxes is scaled up. Except corporations use loop holes and write off everything they can and the US government does nothing about because they need those corporations to give them money to be reelected. They need to just stop completely with the write offs. My parents own a company and they love tax loopholes, they are handy for extra profits. As far as policy goes, I like bush for most of what he is doing, except I am pro abortion and gay marriage. As far as voting, even though I'm not old enough to vote, I wouldn't vote for a democrat any time soon, as pulling out of Iraq would make the terrorists win and its not a good idea. I also dont belive all the doom and gloom global warming claims, as a few hundred years ago, the world was warmer then it is today a few hundred years ago, and there was NO cars or fossil fuel burning back then.
April 15, 200719 yr Author I am neither Democrat of Republican. When I am old enough to vote, I will choose a canidate not by party, but by who I think will do the best job. For example, I will not vote for a Republican who goes against all I believe in just because I say I'm Republican. (Which I don't.) I will vote for the best choice in my eyes, regardless or party. That's exactly the way I'll be voting. Doing it otherwise is just plain stupid in my opinion. It would be counter productive to vote based on loyalties. Here's a news flash who those who want to stick loyal to a party: they don't care about you or what you want for your country, they just want your vote (most of the time, I'd be intrigued to hear of a political party which isn't a vote grabber).
April 15, 200719 yr No taxes. Stupidest police in the world. No enforced laws. And no taxes again :) You're lucky you have no income tax. Qatar is one of few. Me doing staff.
April 15, 200719 yr Author I'd also like to bash the NSW government for hogging water :uhh: The whole they won't pipe into south east QLD thing? It'll kill the fishin' industry, apparantly. I think we should weigh this up, I mean, fishing is great, but let's put this on a balance - Drinking water <----> Fishing. Hmmm...
April 15, 200719 yr I'm getting annoyed at the culture war. The conservatives in it are keeping us in the Middle Ages.

April 15, 200719 yr Finland should join NATO so we'd have some kind of backup when the russians attack Doctor of Dental Surgery-2014Medical Doctor-2018?Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon-2024?
April 15, 200719 yr Prime Minister Stephen Harper is a cunning, resourceful, and somewhat evil man. :-X The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.
April 15, 200719 yr Finland should join NATO. That way we'd have some kind of backup when the russians attack Fix'd. I heard from a Fin that you should never put Finland in the same sentence as its bordering country. That country being Russia. :P Me doing staff.
April 15, 200719 yr Right now I really don't like how the goverment is running things. They are trying to creat the North American Union that Ron Paul has tried to warn American's about. Ron Paul is also running for President if you did not know... some link's to info about it... http://www.canadafreepress.com/2007/cover041207.htm http://www.propagandamatrix.com/article ... 7Texas.htm http://www.jbs.org/node/3416 http://www.saveamericafund.com/urgent.html http://www.okcitizensparty.org/ http://canadianactionparty.ca/cgi/page.cgi?_id=7 http://canadianactionparty.ca/cgi/page. ... 432&_id=27 http://www.jbs.org/node/3185
April 15, 200719 yr Without the burdens (tax) you don't get the benefits (protection). Lack of protection leads to the downfall of society, as thats the main reason society exists. So yes, taxes do make the world go round. Yea but taxes also pay for things that are good ideas but wildly abused like welfare. That does not make tax any less of a neccessity to living. There are countries who do not pay taxes, like Monaco, so there it is not a necessity. It's owned by monopolies, Monaco is a small place and the people living there are incredibly rich. If the same rules were applied in the UK as they are in Monaco then the system would fall apart. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
April 21, 200719 yr Although I favour the neo-liberalism ideology I despise government. The amount of lies they tell through authority and media coverage is phenomenal. I don't even watch television anymore it's that ludicrous. I turn the set off and read books instead. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

April 21, 200719 yr I think that at the moment in the UK we have the best government we have ever had. That may sound quite stupid of me to say because it is only the second one that i have lived under and the first one that i have been old enough to understand aspects of it but i have spoken to like my teachers and parents ect about previous governments. The economy has had continuous growth and has got out of the Boom-recession cycle so there hasn't been a recession for 10 years. I reckon Gordon Brown is actually awesome. I still think the Iraq war was a mistake but it was a dilemma (sp?) in the first place so it was a lose lose situation before they went in in the first place. I think it is good that Brown is gong to be the next PM because he deserves a chance at it and Tony Blair is starting to look old and tired although he has been a brilliant PM. but yeh...Good luck to Gordon Brown

April 23, 200719 yr This is more of a like first page post, but... What a bad topic. People are just going to complain about Bush for the most part. I just wish conservatives weren't all so morally struck Christians, that way we can keep their policies but change things that are restricted by Conservatives and their morals. Stereotype? April 23, 200719 yr I'm happy with the last local government (municipal) election as my mom was elected into the municipal executive board. The national voting also had a good result, as the party I voted for along with its allied parties were able to obtain majority in the Swedish Parliament. The only thing I'm complaining about was a sudden, uncharacteristic proposition by the Christian Democrats, saying that Sweden should be open for abortion tourism. It was not only wrong in my opinion but also stupid as they will probably lose popularity due to the amount of christian voters.
