DRUMINATOR17
The thing that annoys me about it is the story of how the ditch came to be - It was dug. At least attempt to make it believable - say an earthquake occured and make it look more like a crack in the wilderness. It looks awful and could have been implemented much better. LOL i too was thinking something along the lines of this. However dont you just love these updates like this that i dont think anyone was expecting  CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK[Hide=List of Drops That I haven't updated in Years but want to keep in my Sig anyways...]VISAGE DROP - 12/06/073 Duo Sara Hilts, 3 Duo Arma Hilts, 2 Trio Arma Hilts.Dark Bows: (11) Dragon Boots: (50!)Whip Drops: (42!!!) Latinoking
The ditch seems unnecessary since you now have to click "Enter Wilderness" to get into the wilderness. First the Knowledge Base update, now the wilderness ditch - is the RS community really this stupid and naive that Jagex has to waste a week of updates to cater to them in such a superfluous way? 't was a good update, no more luring and more clear where the wilderness starts. And runecrafting nerfed? I don't think so. The time it takes to run 3 or 4 squares is nearly the same as what jumping over the ditch takes (the ditch does not take extra 1-2 seconds imo, maybe 0.28 secs) and when you jump over the ditch you don't use your run energy = you save money if you use energy pots/ you can run more when rcing. And seeing what we've gotten in the past months, I think a little "nerf" was required: Spotty capes, penance gloves and operate glory. It's not like runecrafting isn't the best money making skill in the game anymore : 't was a good update. 't is still annoying and inconvenient. +1 I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
Aerynae
I agree with it being ugly. Basically, it seems like it was done half assed. No story line reason for it, not attempt to make it less of an eyesore. There were a million ways of going about extra precaution against luring and I'm sorry, if you are too idiotic to not understand that you are entering the wilderness when you get a big sign that takes up most of your screen, I cannot fathom how a stupid ditch is going to do the job. Please, those of you going "Yay, no more luring" explain why you think this is going to prevent it? Because I DON'T. I have NEVER lured or scammed ANYONE as long as I have been on Runescape, I'm 100% against cheating, I think it's pointless to cheat for fake pixels at the expense of another person who's feelings are hurt because of it. But honestly, you aren't the brightest crayon if you can't avoid lures. :: Saradomin Girl :: 278/324 Quest Points :: Tip.It Blog ::
BBC3
1. You have still not justified calling him elitist, but I'm sure Hohto can argue his own corner. 2. Mining is NOT slower than runecrafting. It doesn't matter how many times you try and say that it is, you'll still be wrong each time. mining is slower than every skill in the game 4000000657th to 99 cookin555555406th to 99 flethcin
BBC3
Has anyone actually tried Rcing before posting here to complain yet? As far as I'm concerned, any update that thwarts the lurer's plans is a good update. If it equals a small amount of time spent crossing the ditch then so be it. Have you read the arguements against the ditch yet? First of all, now you can't run straight to the zamorak mage by using the minimap. This slowers down the slowest skill in whole game and makes it less convenient. I personally believe that everyone who got lured actually deserved it. If you had any common sense and sense of self protection, you wouldn't fall for those newbish tricks. For second, we just got a rule which makes it a reportable offence. At times like this I seriously don't know how young and gullible players Jagex tries to attract. Low leveled players get a new short quest with horrible rewards and almost no stat reqs almost every week. Now they are adding more things to babysit these players. And you my ignorant fellow are an elitest scum. Don't know if I spelt elitist right or spelt 'spelt' right but thats not the point. READ THE REST OF MY POST CAREFULLY NOW: When you cross the ditch, you are not in the wilderness yet, so you CAN click on the mage on the mini map still. Have you rced with the new ditch yet? I suggest you try it, rcing has not been nerfed, and you are over reacting. Slowed down? 2 seconds? Slowest skill? I think not. With the abyss it isn't the slowest. Have you ever been mining or even raised agility? How is Hohto being elitist? You really think that players who *don't* fall for lures are elite?? Elite is used to indicate the top percentile, not the majority. Whilst personally I think that Jagex are right to try and remove all forms of luring from the game, does it really have to come at such a cost to the average player? Oh, and for your information: RC through the abyss (using sup energy pots) is absolute max 25k xp per hour. Mining = ~40k per hour Agility = ~45k per hour So to turn your question upon yourself, have YOU ever rc'd before? Ditch the Ditch I say. what you dont understand is.. mining and agility makes no money at that xp per hour. rcing makes so much money its unbelieveable. if you are talking MAX xp per hour then why not include runners into the picture? im pretty sure thats 50k+ per hour making it way faster than mining, and easier, and less clicking. rc makes money and is still less clicking anyway 4000000657th to 99 cookin555555406th to 99 flethcin
Duckersmash3
good god the edge of wildy is turning into runescape's vesion of the korean dmz [hide=] Wow... I just scanned it with my new high tech program called "common sense" and it detected a scam. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to breed. Gee, for someone with "billions and billions on multiple accounts", you sure whine a lot.[/hide]
nomadmike
:shame: Shame on you rcs. You see Jagex should have never put the abyss there in my opinion!! I would rather have taken it away now and made you use the shilo or draynor way. The abyss was possibly to fast in Jagex's view, maybe creating to much in a short time(hinting towards a new rune next month :uhh: :XD: (not)) You see the ONLY THING I see this hurting is the lurers( \ lol I made a funny)
Dalcyte
Wow, this is an unexpected move from Jagex. This is a really controversial move... I have mixed feelings about this update, it is a good/bad update. The way we PK has now been changed drastically (low level wildy wise). Nature rune prices are probably going to go up... come back umega..we miss ya :( (nice avy though lol) Anyway, i'd agree with you that's a controversial update, and its being shown on this thread. Pking may be changed, but not drastically, the only change is less level 1 space, because you're not immidietly in the wildy when ya jump in (good move). Nature prices i assume won't go up all that much, people will just deal with it, and that's what they should do..they throw a tempertantrum on things but then go back to doing it 3 seconds later. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

Oh, and they killed level 1-5 varrock wildy too! They took the fence off, and level 1 wildy is a whole 5 SQUARES! They also took all of the trees out, so you can't even hide a bit! ~Joined RS December 2001~Retired Mid-2007
