krisc6
well rcers shouldnt be complaining anyway because if the abyss wasnt their then you would have to run t the alter youreself.its only a small obstacle to cross.anyway i guess its obvious theyre trying to eradicate wildy lures and i think it helps a lot but wont stop it. weird update anyway

stan18
lets use some logic my claim: the 2 seconds lost does not make a significant impact lets look at a real life example: You have to get to ___. on the way there are 5 stoplights. say you go normally, and the other instance, you are 1 minute late (you forget to turn off the stove or something). the stoplights are preset to turn red/green at specific times, so the only time that matters is when you actually get to the stoplight. You could leave your house on schedule, 9:30, or late, 9:31 and still stop at the first stoplight at 9:34 or 9:35 and still leave that stoplight at the same time, because the stoplight turns green at 9:36. repeat for the next 4 stoplights. a team of runner is as fast as the slowest runner. now lets compare this to rs - what are those "stoplights"? runescape times itself on "ticks" or frames that are completely independent of user, so computer speed does not affect these ticks (i.e. say a tick occurs at 9:30:00 and ends at 9:31:00, so a pot you drink at 9:30:00 or at 9:30:59 decreases in value by one at 9:31:00 regardless). these ticks work for everything - i guess the server checks for an action every tick, hence, some teleports take slightly (really slightly) more time than others because you teleported right after a tick as opposed to right before. so every time you do something, (go from not moving to moving, loading the bank, withdrawing, etc.) you check for a tick. try teleporting a few times - some are immediate, some are not upon running once, i loaded a minimum of 20 times (3 pouches, glory). thats 20 stoplights. 20 opportunities to put me behind a tick. that assumes thats the bare minumum. what if i fail an abyss entry-thing? what if i have to click more than once to get to one of those things? what if im pming someone (ok, that doesn't have to do with ticks, but it'll likely slow you down even more)? the ditch only adds 1 tick, as opposed to 20+. the ditch may put you behind 2 seconds (hell, when i did it, it seemed like less) but if you fall behind a few ticks anyways (you leave your house 1 minute early), the 2 seconds does not mean anything edit: i guess i should put a conclusion In conclusion, the ditch does not take a significant amout of time (or any time at all). Yes, it is a nuisance. but so are threads complaining about luring. and threads complaining about updates. hell, those threads take up time, too! in the time it took to type this, i could have run 2 or 3 abyss runs! take out whiners, please im being sarcastic
ugafan_2009
At least the teleblock part is good, if you leave the wild you can tele instead of logging. Ditch is lame though. Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
baalboy5
they should have made it so that you could dig any part of the ditch to be filled up but your the only one that can see and use it Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Took me a little bit to understand but still well said. Anyway i understand all of you saying it slowed down Rcing through the abys. As it may "supposedly" slow you down 1 or 2 seconds. I don't runecraft so i don't really understand the full impact of it. Even so it should not really make it much harder for you to take one second or two off your Rcing. Its good that they are making it a challenge. I think the main reason they did this is just to shut up all the pretty much stupid people who kept getting lured. Maybe they don't like what pking or Rcing has done to the game. And what people have done to it. I guess thats somthing we will never know. However, I really dont see a point to it. lureing is against the rules, no one enters wild by mistake, and if you are a victim of a lure you deserve it. pointless really. King_Peter18
The one second delay means nothing when you enter the abyss. Once you enter the abyss, you are randomly transported near any entrance to the center. Then depending on what entrance to the center you want to go to, you must find it. Then you must attempt to enter it. Depending on your luck. It could take 30+ seconds. Once you enter the middle, you must find the nature gate etc. Therefore making that one second non visible and non affective. As with the luring, do you folks know what Enron is? Ken Lay, etc.? Everyone knows the stock market is a dangerous place, but they still invest their money there. When Ken Lay and his company presidents and etc. Scammed all their investors out of their money, they were punished. So what you people are saying is that they shouldn't have been punished because people know the risks? We should allow people to steal like that? Sly, there is your real life example of something that is like luring in real life, and the people who caused it, punished. End.
