New Update = Rcing Nerfed?

Well, since this new wilderness ditch has come out, it now seems you have to click on the ditch everytime you do an rc run to the abyss...

 

 

 

Maybe this will increase prices of runes...

 

Maybe its not that big of a deal...

 

 

 

What are your thoughts??...

If Im honest I think its more of an annoyance than a downright nerf. Its just another tedious part of a tedious skill. I doubt prices will alter though

i havent gone to the ditch yet...but itll probably only take a second or 2 if that to jump over =\ just people are freacking over the fact they actually have to click something now.

 

 

 

Rc already needs more clicking than most of the other skills, this slows down the slowest skill in whole game already and makes it easier for rc pkers. Rune prices probably won't go to direction or another (maybe temporary but shouldn't be nothing too dramatic) but this just makes rc even more unpopular.

 

 

 

If you ask me, Jagex has overreacted here. First of all in most cases people who accidentally get to wildy areas can only blame themselves. The best thing would be a button in the menu for a wildy notice: if you have set it on, it asks do you really want to enter the wilderness and you gotta accept it if you want to. This wouldn't make rcin harder but it would reduce luring and these "accidents".

I've checked and double checked it. As soon as you cross to the wilderness, you are actually not in the wilderness, but one more step and you are.

well the wildy is clearly marked and its the only place u can kill some1 else.

 

 

 

Im sorry but anyone that gets lured is asking for it, if they can understand the basics of the wildy.

 

 

 

Jagex has over reacted, luring is not fair but u have to be dumb to get lured.

 

 

 

Needs another approach to keep all the kids in varrock and fally.

 

 

 

Why dont you have a noob area (tutorial island) where u have to stay untill u pass an exam. Just like the real world.

 

 

 

YOUR NOT GOING TO FOLLOW A MURDER WITH A GUN INTO A BACK ALLEY IN REAL LIFE ARE YOU?

 

 

 

People who fall for this should be in school learning about saying no to strangers and not messin up an already boring and time consuming skill even more.

What I mean is the timing of clicking the ditch and then continuing running to the wizard. It's not the wilderness that nerfs runecrafting - it's the crossing delay.

zomg Valor, you back playing? if so add iaintnopure, god i haven't talked to you since hunter, i don't think this will make much of a difference, you'll get used to it after about a week, everyone gets used to these things they think are annoying after a while

When i used to rc i'd stop for a few seconds before wilde to check things out, all this does it stop obvious lurers now, big thumbs up from me. :thumbsup:

 

 

 

P.s to anybody who says this helps rc pkers, it does NOT AT ALL, seeing as the ditch is 5 wilde lvls and 1 square away from rc pkers, it should not make any difference at all to them. Who's ever seen a sereous rc pker in lvl 1 wilde :-s

I totally agree with you. The ditch isn't in the wild and will definitely stop any unknowing person from being lured into the wild.

Haha, yeah i have to agree see i was like omfg when it came out i ran a few nat runs just to see... and really i don't think its that big of an issue... to me its just one more click and your character starts running again right away on the other side...

 

 

 

what is bad is that abyssall pkers are drifting farther down south and waiting for the person to pop over the wall and get through the 2 sq. saftey of tiles on the other side

yea, you cant click right up, you have to click somewhere before the ditch, click the one square wide ditch, wait for 2 seconds, click again up to continue your running...

 

 

 

i havent time it, because i am f2p right now, but i can experience the annoyance already... :evil:

I just did some thinking and saw it from an rcers point of view:

 

 

 

Every RC run now has an additional 2 seconds. I can see how this will affect you in the long run. I am just going to say the average run is 20 seconds (I know it is far more then that, I'm just using an example) Every 10 runs you could've had an extra run.

 

 

 

Yes, I go back on my statement, abyss rcing has been nerfed, but don't say rcing has been nerfed as in all of it, as it IS an f2p skill.

One second causing you to lose hours of your time. Gee, you do know this is an MMORPG right? MMORPGs are not meant to make things easy at all. What do you think Runescape is huh? MMORPGLame? If one click can make you say "AAAAAAHHH ITS TOO HARD!!!" You need to rediscover what an MMORPG is. Also, you say stop making it easy for the newbs. They make it easy for you don't they? Pest control, and etc. Then they make it harder for you, and you complain about it.

 

 

 

I have to laugh at all the bull [cabbage] stories I see on the Runescape forums. I got one step away from the ditch and he dds spec'd me. But wait! You weren't even in the wilderness! So how did he do that?

 

 

 

If one click makes you this angry, get some help. MMORPGs are not meant to be easy. If they were, no one would play them. You complain about making things easy for the newbs, then when they make something hard for you, you complain about them making it easier for newbs. Hypocrites. Hypocrites. Hypocrites.

Be careful when crafting death or nature runes through the abyss. Teleportation block spells are NO LONGER LIFTED when you log out and back in. That means, if you got teleport blocked, entered death altar, then you either wait 5 minutes (2 minutes 30 seconds if you used protect magic which is unlikely if you're abyss crafting), or you walk through the entire temple of light.

 

 

 

I already posted this under hidden updates... I would post it in General P2P but they'd probably lock it and I'd get in trouble again. :(

that is not a valid reason to love this update, just clicking the ditch wont take more than 5 mins to reprogram their bot...

Everybody complaining about the ditch taking them a second or 2 to cross should actually go there and hop it <.< . Doesnt slow you down at all. you even run faster a moment after doing it

haha, since when can anyone do a run in 20 seconds?

 

i usually do 80-90 seconds a run, another 2 seconds doing 35 trips an hour is about 1 less run per hour

 

i'm sure everyone can live with not getting in 1 more run an hour

 

 

 

i want some agility exp for this though <.<
