Just a thought I had about the quest cape...

Featured Replies

Well eventually yes, but right now, it really isn't too difficult to get.

Especially since there aren't very many "Master" quests, but oh well.

The more quests there are, the more difficult it becomes.

Getting a 99 in any skill is still harder than doing all the quests.

Ehh, I partially disagree, Runecrafting, Farming, Herblore, and Agility are much harder than obtaining a quest cape!

But, as someone previously stated, I'd rather see a Quest Cape than a Cook/Fletch Cape anyday!

yes it takes long to get one... cooking cape is only 200 hours non-stop... every quest will take arround 2-3 hours and 1 hour to get the states...

and there are already thousand quests!

time alone is not the only matter. Cooking is very repetitive while quests are acctually enjoyable. That can make all the difference

Opinion much?

I loved maxing cooking, basically talked the entire time and had fun, and when you say quests are "enjoyable", I personally hate questing more than anything in RS.

I'm still working towards my Quest Cape and I'll be honest, I used the quest guides. I wouldn't mind if a few Master level quests were in the next update, it'll just make me work harder towards my quest cape and under my own steam.

Be proud of your Quest Capes and Skill Capes, however you got there.

yes but the quests will add up, the more there is, the harder it'll be to wear the cape.

( If this game is still around =\ ).

Don't ever, EVER speak (or type) these words! :shame: :-# :-$ :shame:

It only applies if you were not previously a quest cape owner and having tons more quests to do. If you were a quest cape owner before, just that few more quests and you are reunited with the cape

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

With the addition of Pest Control, combat training became a peice of cake.

I hadly call an extra 25k an hour for more complicated training making it a peice of cake :shame:

Recently level 99 skills have been becoming easier to obtain...

With the addition of Pyramid Plunder, theiving became one of the easiest 99's to obtain.

Yet you have neither of them. :shame:

Seriously, getting a 99 IS an achievement, and a great one in my opinion. Especially if you want to play the game in a fun way. No-lifing yew/willows for a 99 in WC, is not my idea of fun. No 99s for me for a while :shame:

The quets cape is quite easy to get. The level requirements aren't THAT high. But, when you have it, it requires "maintenance" to regain it every time when a new quest comes out. That is the only thing that makes it "difficult" to keep it. Once you have it, you STILL ned to invest mostly time and maybe some resources to re-aquire it.

Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

i would agree, quest cape is the most hardest to get, but not most time comsuming. quest cape requires a semi-high combat and semi-high in almost all skills. with all the skills, the quest cape its one of the fastest, if not the fastest cape to get.

I disagree about it being one of the fastest to get. Some quests take several hours to do, and while I do admit to having used some guides, I now do every single quest the day it comes out (without a guide).

From a variety of sources, I can state that most of the skills he mentioned are faster (combat if you get a great pc clan, cooking is just plain fast, firemaking is pretty fast with yews and not bad with maples, fletching's a bit slower but it's still fast, and thieving is also fast).

I could lvl up any of those skills (except maybe combat because I'm not in a pc clan) at least one lvl in less time than some quests take me.

wow never really thought about that

Kiss me, i'm part Irish!

Drifting off-topic, there is definitely a decent level of commitment required to own a quest cape but to the average (i.e. non-pure, non skiller) player the requirements are pretty low to start the quests and a lot of quests are progressive requirements as you wish to expand access to weaponry/different map areas.

Drifting further off-topic, I would suggest that quest capes are (currently) about on a par with the more common skill capes such as fletching and cooking, all of which warrant respect, they are simply more achievable than say the mining/runecrafting capes.

Back on topic, I would agree that quest capes are progressively getting harder to obtain whereas most (though not all) skill capes are gradually getting easier.

And finally, way off topic.. I do quests based upon what they offer me in terms of reward/access to map etc. I don't particularly enjoy them and I use a quest guide for all but the most simple. The only exception to this is when I complete a quest on the day it is released. Apart from ME2 I don't believe any quests require a great deal of brain power to figure out, and I loathe trekking up and down all of runescape to get some random item that was deliberately selected due to it's being located as far away as possible from where you need it. Hence my use of guides.

I also use PC, a gilded altar, a cannon, and buy all my 2nds for herblore. I do this because they are (for me) the most efficient way of training. I don't use runners for runecraft simply because I'm tight and would prefer to get the cash

You contradict yourself in this post.

First I would like to clarify that I never said getting 99 skills was easy and I have never said that they are now easy with these new additions to the game. All I'm saying is these updates are now making an easier, faster, more efficient way of training the different skills. They are still not hard but they do make them much easier then training the skill originaly was.

Try to get 99 range before pest control and chinchompas...Not an easy task.

And another thing, you say that just because I don't have a 99 skill, I have no room to talk about acheiving 99 skills when you youself neither have a 99 skill and even admit that you don't plan to get one in the future.

And to most everyone else...The purpose of this thread is to share a thought I had about the quest cape, and about how with each and every update is becoming harder and harder to acheive. Now the "topic" on everyones mind is how the quest cape is or isn't hard to acheive and how 99 skills are or aren't better.
