You have to do them in order.

 

 

 

No, you don't. I started doing the mid level ones in random order and they still get crossed off; I haven't done a single easy level achievement.

You have to talk to one of the three task starters before you can start doing the assignments.

to the topic starter: they don't tell you what to do. You can make up your own mind whether you want to make use of the feature or not.

 

 

 

It looks like a nice update to me, I'd like to see the rewards first though.
