ONE BARROWS QUESTION THAT NO ONES SURE OF

Featured Replies

there are lots of well known facts about the barrows, but....

does kill count increase ure chance of barrows item or no?

Both theories could be correct, they are.....

1) the higher the better. You kill more you should get more right?

2)The lower the better. Your getting more runes, isnt that enough?

I seem to think both are incorrect, but wut do you think?

LOL invite? PM me :)

Kill count doesn't increase the chance of barrows IIRC, but it does increase the amount of runes and bolt racks.

only the number of brothers killed effects your chance of a barrows item

nekusig2fcopy.jpg

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

Based on and old analysis of mine from logs with total of over 2k trips, there's no evidence that kc affect barrow drop rate. However, your rune drops is affected by the drop rate, namely you will not get blood runes until kc 8+, and bolts with kc 9+.

All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it

also recently a mod has told the runescape community that a ring of wealth affects barrow drops...

Sig.jpg

Jagex have stated that only the killcount of killing the brothers affects your chances of a barrows item. so as long as you kill all brothers each time you maximise your chance of getting an item.

I have tried all types of killcounts, and I think it only marginally affects your runes etc. not dramatically.

I have recently been keeping a log of my barrows drops, and there is a pattern to the number of non barrows items you receive, either runes, racks or gold for each brother you kill.

I would be interested to know if anyone ever gets more than 6 different types of item from the chest.

barrowsmguthan,bob%20baldrick.gif

Once a Brother is killed , they will "drop" 1 item into the chest...

eg rune coins racks and chance to drop a barrows item.

So killing all 6 brothers is better and killing monsters wont affect getting an item

higher the kc the high ammount of a chance u will get more runes then having 6 kc

It doesn't. Like everything in this game, the drop rate is based on luck. Some factors influence it - not kill count.

idk now that i think about it i never get bloods thee i got them twice when i was at like 10 kc cause i was waiting for a friend i agree with the kc effecting rune thing someone should ask jagex and see what they say

That statement is incorrect, it will increase the CHANCE of getting bloods and bolt racks runes you get (like you have the chance of getting bloods) but it will not increase the amount of runes you get (you will still only get 120-130 chaos runes per drop, regardless of 6kc or 60). Again, the effect of kc diminishes after about 10kc.

That's dumb. If your kill count had absolutely no affect on the drops, then what's the purpose of having a kill counter exist?

truevamopcopynh4.gif

When I Have It, It's the World's. When I Don't Have It, The World Is Mine.

When you kill a barrows brother, He'll drop an item into the chest (Barrows item is rarer than normal items), It's the same with monsters in the tunnels, Kill a bloodworm for example: It'll drop an item into the chest, kill 100 bloodworms, It wont change how many of the items are dropped into the chest, :shame: It'll drop one in and thats all, So the best bet is to kill at least one of each monster in the tunnels.

I've used this method for around 500 runs and i've pretty much always got blood runes, Mind runes, Death runes, Bolt racks and Gold coins, Not always but alot of the time, When I killed one of each monster I've ended up with a kill count of 12.

I once took a cannon into the tunnels and got a kill count of above 700 on mainly Big spiders/Spiders, I got to the chest and what did I get? No chaos runes, No bloods, No racks Around 200 minds, Around 50 Deaths, 1042Gp, and no barrows item, :ohnoes: Keep this in mind, And good luck at the Barrows! \'

I would like to get the most difficult 99 in the game to accomplish. which is woodcutting.
because I had a drunken night in philadelphia and sprayed a fire extinguiser, evacuated a 7 story hotel on the philly stadium, spent the night in jail.. then got on level 2 prob & have to pay 50 a month because I have a job. It's their way of collecting more money out of me.

Getting a higher kill count dose help you get an item. If you get 15 kill count then on average you get about 1 item per 20 trips, if you get 21 kill count then on average you get about an item every 12 trips.

wow the 2 posts above really contradicts each other.

I wounldnt spend too much time getting the kill count up like the poster 2 up said.

Right I can tell you for a fact that the whole "Kill count increasing your barrow item chances" is just a rumour, please, lets put an end to this now, from first hand experience, I have done well over 200-300 barrows runs getting a kill count of at least 50 bare minimum, often more, and I have only ever had ONE piece of barrows equipment.

That one piece came from the only trip where I decided to slack and kill only the brothers, so honestly, do not believe what people say about kill count improving your chances of getting barrows equipment.

This has to be one of the most common rumours I have ever seen, yet proven wrong by so many dedicated barrowers

I agree with Fayt, from my time at barrows, I've got around 14 Barrows items, And all of them from a 12 kill count, 8-) Some times I've gone and got way over 100 Kill count and what changes? Nothing! :wall: It's just a rumour, I'd say its just to help you work out if you have more brothers to kill or not, Or just to get a certain number, 12 happens to be my lucky number, Alot of people get their lucky numbers, Although it doesn't always help. :-w

it was put there for a reason eh? if all the monsters are agressive then duh it would increase chances

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

amount of brothers u kill = item

monsters u kill = runes

I saw someone test this on the rs official forums a little while ago, and he tested it for literally hundreds of runs. So yeah, the best way is to kill 1 of every monster type. Thats what I usually do. Also, i tried a run last time with a kill count of 0 (no monsters or brothers) and i got no items at all.

12kc gets me Mad amounts of items.

This could be. I happen to know that wealth does effect the chest of that mage in yanille that drops sinister keys so this could be.
