I was browsing through the internet for the new metal gear solid game.

 

 

 

I noticed it will put on ps3 and wondered "will it be made on ps2 as well?"

 

 

 

I think nintendo made some games for nintendo ds as well as game boy advance but i am not sure.

By the end of 2007, no more new games for PS2 will be made.

same thing has happaned with the xbox

They're not completely ditching the PS2. From what I've heard they will still be making party games, and games generally aimed at younger audiences. But there's more than enough great games to enjoy. :)

By the end of this year the PS2 will be dead. It happens every other time, with every other console. Look at the GBA, Cube, and Xbox. All are gone, and the PS2 is next.

Why would anyone be sad? PS3 is here. And Final Fantasy games are already on their way for the PS3... =P~ All I need is...$450 for a 20GIG PS2.

Plus the PS3 is a disapointment at this point (But let's not go into detail, that's for another thread :-$ ). But yeah, FF on the next-gen is gonna be awesome.

Now if they come out for it on the Xbox 360, might be worth my while to actually get one (those games plus Halo 3 and much more).

I hope Sony's smart enough to realise everyone doesn't have $500 to spend on a console. And I believe Xbox games are still made, so I'm guessing the PS2 games will also still be made.

they might release like a new guitar hero or something, but I think there won't be many if any, new titles next year. Like everyone else said

I doubt it. Sony will focus attention on the Ps3..which is kind of a failure. If it was me, I'd focus on my new and old console until the newer one was good enough with a solid enough library for the company to be supported without the older console. Sony has a weak setup on the Ps3 right now..and focusing their attention to that and killing the ps2 will be a bad move.

From what ive heard, God of war 2 was the last big title. The rest will be little things till it dies off.

:? I think from what i gather, they are gonna spread all FFXIII games to almost all systems.

 

 

 

One for a cell phone, one for ps3, and one for Xbox360.

 

 

 

The problem? These games all have a kinda connected story.... Therefore to get the full story, you have to play across many platforms.... I dont think the mobile one will be as connected, but Versus is probably for the ps3 and XII will be for the xbox360 i think.

well the ps2 will eventualy die off when the price for the ps3 goes down to about 200 but until then im expecting resident evil 5 for the ps2 if its a ps3 im going to run over to the sony hq dressed as doctor salvador and tear the creaters head off :twisted:

One more platform-exclusive title may be going multiplatform, it has been revealed. The latest news appears to be that Square Enix's latest epic role-playing game, Final Fantasy XIII, may follow other titles--including Saints Row, Assassin's Creed, and Devil May Cry 4--that have now been announced as appearing on at least one other platform as well.

 

 

 

However I won't rule it out for being on all Consles

 

The article also says that Square Enix is planning to support Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo's consoles more evenly than it did in the last generation, having already committed two games to each system so far (Final Fantasy XI and Project Sylpheed for the Xbox 360, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors for the Wii, and Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PS3).

The PS3 will never be as popular as the ps2, sony will abandon the ps3 over time and make a new consol.

All I want to see on the Ps2 is MVP Baseball '08, because I'm still addicted to '05, and I'm not buying '07.
