~II. - Statistics~

~Some High-Alchemy Prices~

Yew Longbow - 768/3 seconds = 256 Gp/second

Magic Longbow - 1536/3 seconds = 512 Gp/second

Steel Platebody - 1200/3 seconds = 400 Gp/Second

Green Dragonhide Body - 4680/3 seconds = 1560/second

~Assume there are 150,000 people playing RuneScape at any given time. Assume 1 in 150 people is casting either a "High-Level Alchemy" or a "Low-Level Alchemy" Spell.~

~Here's the math with Yew Longbows...The average "Alched" Item gives 300 Gp per second.~

150,000 Players / 150 = 1,000 Alchers at any given time

1,000 Alchers * 250 Gp per second = 250,000 Gp added to RuneScape EVERY SECOND

250,000 * 3,600 seconds per hour = 900,000,000 Gp added to RuneScape EVERY HOUR

900,000,000 Gp becomes 750,000,000 Gp (Due to Bans and discontinued Accounts)

750,000,000 Gp comes into RuneScape EVERY HOUR /8,000,000 (Estimated) Total RuneScape Accounts - 93.75 Gp a Minute, per Player

~This may not seem like a lot per Player, but think, there are 8,000,000 Players...Wow...~

~III. - Our Problem~

~To "Alch" a Yew Longbow, for example, a Yew Log, Bowstring, and Nature Rune have to be made.~

~(Estimated) Profit~

Yew Log - 300 Gp Each

Bowstring - 200 Gp Each

Nature Rune - 300 Gp Each (Including the Pure Essence being mined)

Total - 800 Gp PROFIT per Yew Longbow made

~The point is not that you lose 32 Gp per Alch. It's that for every Bow made, someone, somewhere makes 800 Gp. Whether it's one person or 5, it's still 800 Gp added to RuneScape.~

~IV. - Our Solution~

~Delete the High-Level Alchemy and Low-Level Alchemy Skills!~

~Why? Here's why:~

-They ruin the RuneScape economy.

-They promote Autoers (anyone can "Auto-Alch.")

-They're not even real Magic-Training! My god, standing in a spot for 100 hours with flashy lights going on and off in your hands IS NOT training Magic! It's Not! Sorry; no! Casting Spells that attack, defend, or aid are Magic.

-Deleting them causes the Nature Rune to drop in value, thus allowing Blood and Soul RuneCrafting to make a bigger impression when introduced.

-They make Magic less of a real Skill. Getting 99 Magic these days just says "I have too much time on my hands!"

-Deleting them forces you to train Magic with real Spells, like Bolts, Blasts, Ect.

-Deleting them makes RuneScape a fairer (harder, yes, but fairer) game.

-DELETING THEM - SAVES RUNESCAPE IN GENERAL, IN THE LONG RUN!

~All i am asking for is a fast, quiet delete of the Spells. I don't want riots. I don't want complaints. (This includes sending Jagex 500 messages a day.) I don't want Jagex to take anything from the Level 60 Pures (no offense) who sit in the Duel Arena all day, challenging people to Duel them with "Obstacles" On. (I also feel "Obstacles" should be deleted. Winning with them On is just saying "I can cheat better than you!")~

~I want RuneScape to continue being a good, fair game for years to come.~

Alchemy is not ruining the economy. ESPECIALLY, low level alchemy. That right there makes me think less of this whole post.

People will always be able to afford rares.

Bots are more responsible for ruining the economy than alching. Now if people were training on party hats, your no one could afford rares thing may be right.

*Edit* <-- Do that to your original post. :wall: Alching is not ruining the economy. :wall:

*Edit, again* <-- You should still try that.

If you "suddenly and quietly" delete the alching spells, that would screw the economy even more. People would quit, prices would go even more crazy. Fletching would flop, slayers would be angry (combat training people even) They alch drops to stay longer at monsters.

~Please don't say "Oh my god! You hate Pures/Magic/Ect." I'm Level 96 Magic. I've trained it through Pest Control, with some Alching (no more than 25,000 Yew Longbows.) I hate Alching now, as i see i've helped contribute to what i dislike. If you feel i've used the word "Pure" stereotypically, please let me know. I'm not trying to discriminate, but you have to admit, most "Obstacle-Stakers" are Pures between Level 50-80 Combat, with 94-99 Magic.~

If we didnt alch things like the yew long bow, what would we do with them? Just have thousands of them sitting in our bank? This has come up many times, but this is the most organised one i've seen yet. =D>

But with out high alching, RS would have like no GP.

I disagree, alching is NOT ruining the economy, Macros are a BIG problem with the economy, lets deal with them before we start trying to take apart skills that work perfectly fine.

And technically, shouldn't this be either in the Suggestions forum or the Rants forum?

I think its a nice concept, but in a world that has had this for so long, its only something we can imagine of when creating a more perfect rs. Alchemy is extremely boring, so there's some skill in it...not being bored! :XD:

As x bow said, all the gp that would be coming into the game would be selling stuff that respawns to general stores. It has serious economic value, the problem is, its being used quite a bit but a lot of people.

This is the part that made me crack up. Do you seriously expect, that if Jagex ever just went and deleted the Alchemy spells, that there would be no riots and no complaining?

When they banned the use of SwiftSwitch, the riots in World 28 were amazing and resulted in a ton of bans and mutes. Just imagine the riots and complaints if Jagex removed High and Low Alchemy, thereby removing many player's (almost all members) methods of money making and Magic training. Sorry buddy, its not gonna happen.

Also, I read your whole thread. Every word.

Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.

I agree. Get rid of macroers and there will be less nature runes, bow strings and yews, causing the price to go up to make yew longs in turn causing less alcing cecause it is not worth is. Get rid of all macroers and alcing won't affect the economy as much.

Ed will kill anyone who tries to eliminate alchemy  .

-

I find it funny that he states no reasons, or proof for that matter, as to why it damages the economy. This isn't the world economy, things run differently, so get some real proof dang it.

I also find it hilarious that 90% of his reasons are based on the fact that he doesn't consider alchemy "real magic". Okay, putting aside the fact that it's actually science (again, ask Elric), it's downright funny how ludicrous his reasons are.

It's like he can't back up the economy side of the debate, so he uses a Plan B like a new Plan A.

-They make Magic less of a real Skill. Getting 99 Magic these days just says "I have too much time on my hands!"

Pretty much every achievement in Runescape is time-based. This point means nothing.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

who trains magic with alchemy any more? if you wanna train magic you use pest control

secondly its hardly ruining the economy, what are we suppose to do with all these bows? drop them, that seems like a big waste of time. the reason you think it ruins the ecomony is the increase in supply and not the demand, thats kuz more players are coming in and getting higher levels therefore an increace in supply, lowering the price of whips etc, but rasing rares becasue they are only in a falling zone

Just goes to show how much you know about economics. I'm not saying I'm a real expert either, but this is just common sense. A radical movement like that would more likely destroy the economy, than fix it; that's not to mention the other serious implications, like pissing off a bunch of slayers. Without all of the extra money coming into the economy, prices on rares would more than likely take a dive. There's a bunch of angry rare investors; gosh that would be like the Great Depression of RuneScape.

If the alchemy spells were to be deleted, it would block the flow of liquid capital into the game. Products such as logs, ore, fish, food, runes, barrow items, dragon items, slayer and drops, dragon hides and bones would continue to be produced, but there wouldn't be enough cold hard cash to balance it out, and prices would deflate like crazy.

Not only would this kill rares (Which are important to the game economy), but it would render the products listed above worthless. Refining skills such as smithing and fletching would have less appeal, and people who were already rish before the removal of the spells would now dominate the terribly deflated markets.

Alchemy is not going to kill Runescape. However, your idea will.

~What's the cause of this ridiculous price hike? Two Spells: "High-Level Alchemy" and "Low-Level Alchemy."~

You realize that if you took out both alchemy spells you could still sell items to stores for gp which like alchemy is coming out of thin air. (It is faster to sell to stores than it is to alch). Unless you plan on deleting all means of bringing gp into this game then you do not have a valid point here.

~The point is not that you lose 32 Gp per Alch. It's that for every Bow made, someone, somewhere makes 800 Gp. Whether it's one person or 5, it's still 800 Gp added to RuneScape.~

Actually it's 768 gp being added to Runescape since a yew longbow alchs for 768 gp.

you obviously don't know a thing about the economy. The reason the prices rise is because the gold value falls, if the gold value falls, that means everyone has more gold, so peoples ability to afford things doesn't change at all. The only people that are hurt are the ones with a lot of money saved up.

If you take out alchemy you destroy the economy, simply because some of the most traded materials will become useless. Those items are: nature runes, mage and yew logs, dragon hides, coal and iron, flax and bowstrings, and more...

Please use your head before posting another crappy topic without thinking.

You're like 3 years late on this train. Right now jagex has created a perfect balance of inflation vs. deflation. Rares have remained stagnant for almost a year. Most regular items are within regular price ranges. Find another cause to worry about. I could go on and on about disproving small minute things, but it's not worth either of our time.

you missed the part where it destroys rs. Explain to me how 93gp per player per hour is bad... Thats 5k a day... That means, for every day in rs, prices will go up .01 gp per item. Explain to me how that is bad.

EDIT:

You forgot about money drains.
