Lime_Mercury
Feminists will cry that the "male gaze" (wiki it) has the tendency to objectify women. I can only assume that exposing the organs most closely related to sex and reproduction will exacerbate the problem of men viewing women as only sex objects. It is difficult, though, to make the case that the social constructs that we've built in order to dampen those drives are healthy in any sense of the word. So, in answer to your question- not particularly, but women hold enough of the cards in the game to make a good play at it. so there's this thread in p2p general called "the most annoying things ppl do on runescape" i am tempted to post "ya wen im cybering with a girl and they log off for no reason"

How2PK
It's just that women have parts that should be hidden there, and men don't, its not sexist at all. :-s I still smell a good funny topic comming up though... What parts have they got there that should be 'hidden'? There's a pair of nipples (most of the time), men got those as well. Most of the times there's a bit more 'fat' (or w/e you call it) up there. Nothing shocking to be honest? There are a lot of woman sun bathing top-less over here. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Lovelydude
I'm happy to walk around topless if it was socially accpetable. Goddess, you seem like a good person to ask. Would you be annoyed if men were no longer allowed to expose their chests in public (specifically those with washboard abs and stuff)? If you see an attractive man sporting his 'sexy' chest, do you turn your head and look? If I walk around without a shirt I don't fear I'm going to get raped because people have restraint. If they don't, there's obviously something wrong with them. People who think an attractive chest warrants rape are going to rape people, shirt or no shirt. I've yet to see a convincing reason why women shouldn't be allowed to go topless whenever they feel like it.

Tigra00
Because women aren't known for raping men. Men, however, are known to rape women. It just creates unneeded temptation of men. Men are visual/physical, women are emotional. If I were a woman, I wouldn't even WANT TO, because men can get creepy and stare and stuff. Gross. Plus, this isn't Africa, homie. Women wear bra's most of the time for a damn good reason. Pick up a National Geographic sometime and you'll know exactly what I'm sayin'. Women stare alot too. It's mostly just teenage girls, however women can be a lot more audacious and far less subtle than men when they see someone who they think is attractive. I agree about the kneebangers, but that's most of a comfort reasons and not so much aesthetics. ;P The internet can be anywhere, Silly.
Satenza
Because women aren't known for raping men. It that even possible. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
Bauke
Because women aren't known for raping men. It that even possible. Yes. Allthough not very common. I think it's ok if women want to walk around topless. It might look a little strange because nobody does it, but what's wrong with it? Why it is neccesary to deliberatly hide some parts of the body? Every female has those two things on their chest, allthough not all forms and shapes are alike. Tigra00
Because women aren't known for raping men. It that even possible. Yes. I won't go into details, but 3 women raped a man using a certain vegetable we make pickles out of a long time ago, and he sued them n' stuff. I've had my own experience with "female on male raping", but I won't go so far as to call it rape. Lets just say a girl wouldn't take no for an answer even though I told her no like 50 times. Apparently, the whole "No means no!" battle cry for women doesn't go both ways. :P There is, however, a point where a guy says "GAAAAAAAH WHATEVER!" and just lets the girl do whatever she wants, apparently. Women are silly. rodl
If I train with my friends in the summer, I usually train with no shirt on because it's better that way. Every time I walk by some girls they go "omg 6 pack" and keep on staring, yet it's not acceptable for men to even say something about their body. It's called respect for women. Yes, it's a concept of chivalry and whatnot and not of "fairness between genders", but some things that aren't necessarily "fair" are better. Men can't handle their eyes, hands, nor their mouths well enough to be able to compliment or even look at a woman without thinking about her in a very sexual manner. Females, however, can think you're the most attractive guy on Earth and still never want to have anything to do with you. That's how most women feel about Brad Pitt. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Sumpta
I'm happy to walk around topless if it was socially accpetable. And it would make the men happy too :D. It's a cultural thing. Cretan women wore dresses that started right under their breasts and there seem to be no records of Cretan men assaulting them all of the time, so there really isn't any logical reason why it should be a problem. But with the culture as it is today, I'd rather not walk around topless in public. I guess I'd just feel self-conscious about it.

Striker6
I think if all the women are comfortable with walking around topless they should post solid evidence that they are telling the truth, otherwise we can't possibly believe them O:) The sanctity of your own room would be a good start.
