Wish Me Luck! *gulp*

I'm doing it. :ohnoes: I've known now for a few years that I need to look some weight. Not like "OMG Its the BLOB!" weight, but a little junk in the trunk. :^o Ok, I'm hauling a good amount of cargo here. If you'd look at me, you'd say "Oh, she's not THAT fat. Fat, but not that bad..." But on the BMI index, I'm borderline obese. So tomorrow, I'm going to start loosing weight. My plan is to loose 15 pounds by the time school starts, in early September. I feel uncomfortable shopping with my friends, since clothes don't always fit in their favorite stores. I'm going to really try to get motivated this time. And that's where you guys come in. I can't do this on my own. Well, I'm doing most of it... but whatever. I need a little support. My mom supports me, and I'm sure my friends do, but its uncomfortable to talk to them about it, since they're all toothpicks. So I figured, if I got my Tip.It Forum buddies to give me a little kick in the butt, it might be easier. (Believe it or not, people are easier to talk to when you don't have to look at them. Who knew?) I'm going to stop blabbering, and go to sleep. I'm getting up for a jog tomorrow! (I'll keep you updated with a day-to-day blog sort of deal...) Thanks! :thumbsup:

Wow, good luck. I'm tall in real life (5'10 at 13 :P) and weigh 150 or so, I'm trying to lose -some- weight. I'm mostly doing it to train for track next year, but recently I've been having major problems with my toes (ingrown toenails and having them worked on, not fun.) and I can't walk far without hurting. But, if you ever need to talk to anyone, you can pm me if you'd like.

I'm trying to lose weight this summer as well (Not obese, just want to get in shape more) And im finding that running isnt just cutting it. You will get to a point where to lose weight through jogging/running, you have to do it for a long time. So just be prepared.

do weight watchers. I did it when i was 15. It's the only diet out there that works (and is safe). After the second week it fell off me at a rate of about 3-5 lbs a week. I lost 40 lbs (I was pushing 200, I was pretty big). Now I've gained back 20 lbs in muscle from working out. I'm very proud of my accomplishments but i recommend checking out weight watchers. It's an incredibly simple system and can be explained to you in about 10 minutes.

You know what, good for you you're doing this. At least your doing something about your weight, where i know friends, cousins, etc who dont give a dam. I support you and good luck, believe in your self and never quit.

WEIGHT WATCHERS!

 

 

 

My mom went on it in april, since then shes like 20 pounds(shes 53, not bad..), and the first week you lose about 4, 2nd week about 3, 3rd week about 2, then the rest you lose about 0.5-2 pounds a week, which after months makes a difference. Its a healthier life style being skinnier. This program cost about 150$ (Canada), which is pretty cheap meh, your health is more important then money!

Good luck. My advice, because I'm unintentionally not gaining weight (and should be), is to do what I do. If your summer is pretty loose schedule-wise, get up pretty late, around 12-2. Then when the rest of your family is having lunch, you have breakfast. Then have dinner at 6-7 with the rest of your family. The wait isn't too long. Then go to sleep at whatever time works or when you start feeling really hungry. This'll cut down the amount of meals you have a day. Inbetween meals just have really small healthy snacks to keep your metabolism going. Go for jogs or whatever exercise and eat granola/protein bars that taste good to you.

 

 

 

That's my advice, but don't take it too strongly. Personally I'm trying to gain weight but usually I'm too lazy to make my own meals so I only have breakfast/lunch and dinner during the summer. If you do try this though let me know how it works. Whatever plan you take I'd talk with some people though to make sure it sounds good. Again, good luck. :)

That won't help you lose weight. It will slow your metabolism down, making it harder. The best thing to do is have 6 small meals a day, instead of 3. Also drink as much water as you can. Combined with exercise, and assuming the 6 meals are mostly healthy, you should lose weight.

I'm no help here, I'm 17 and been unusually skinny my whole life. :o

 

 

 

In a way this is bad, since I eat alot of junk food now, in 10 years when my metabolism

 

stops I'll be huge because I never formed healthy eating habits. :cry:

 

 

 

Actually the only junk food I eat (drink?) is 5-6 cans of soda a day. I know it's bad for

 

you but I can't help it!

Don't try to lose too much too fast. If you can lose a pound a week then you are doing great.

 

 

 

Get a workout buddy if you can. I am absolutely worthless in keeping a regular exercising schedule if I don't have a friend to work out with so we can keep each other accountable.

Good luck, and remeber puking your weight away doesnt work :P

 

Also, if you dont loose as much weight as you were hoping, don't get discouraged, and also remeber exercise alone won't get the weight away, a good diet helps :D

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Em's Blog Day 1

 

 

 

Thank you all for your support... even you, Satenza. All of you who suggested Weight Watchers, I know. Me and my mom (who's not overweight at all.) have been trying to go there. My mom used to go when I was little, but she's stopped. We've had some family emergencies that have kept us from going lately. But back to the point. They say if you write down what you eat every day, you'll loose weight better. So today for breakfast, I had half a cup of cooked Egg Beaters (egg substitute) one banana muffin that I baked yesterday, and a glass of cran-apple juice. Then, I was all ready to go for my run, when my parents come in. "Hey honey, we're going to run some errands for about an hour, we want your bathroom and your bedroom cleaned when we get back." Jeez. The cleaning took me about five minutes, but I can't leave the house, since my sisters are still little. Then, before my mom left, she reminded me "We're going to Festa tonight!" Which means, Festa Italiana. Milwaukee has every ethnic festival know to man every summer. A little backstory here, my mom and dad met at Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, which is held here. They had their first date at Festa. Mind you, we're not Italian. But this is beside the point. Festa means one thing, and one thing only: food. There's free samples of Italian food, pizza, gelato, everything you shouldn't eat on a diet. So I figure this; I'll have a panini and a water like last year (the panini is made with grilled chicken, green and red peppers, and some mozzarella. Not bad figuring the guy in the next stand is selling double decker meatball subs. Then, when my family orders gelato, I'll get a small cup of the lemon ice kind. I figure its the best I can do, right? Well, all of you pushing to see my run, I'm not running today. I'm no runner. But I am going for a nice long bike ride, all the way to the local park (which has tons of hills) and back. That should add up to three or four miles. Then I'll do some sit ups, push ups, and jump around on our exercise trampoline for a while. So, before I go and stop my sisters from killing each other with the toilet scrubbing wand, I'll leave you with a few (painful) stats...

 

 

 

Day: 1

 

Current Weight: 195. How the hell that happened, I have no idea...

 

Current Height: Around 5'8

 

Current Morale: Nice and motivated!
