Any Game Ever Scared The Crap Out of You?

Featured Replies

Yeah, ever had one of those moments where you were freaked out by a game?

One of mine would have to be having my head lopped off compliments of Dr. Salvador in Resident Evil 4

..Meh..I've never been truly Scared..but I've had a '..Err....' moment..

Like whenever my neck was broken in RE4..I got my head chopped off in RE4..the first time El Gigante launched me with a tree -.-

The only moment that SCARED me..(yes, TRULY scared)..was in Doom 3. I looked up, and a marine corpse was hanging from a broken air duct. Suddenly, it looked like 2 Trites (http://ucguides.savagehelp.com/Doom3/images/monster_trite.jpg) pulled it up. Slowly..blood dripped onto the floor, and body parts and organs slowly fell out one by one..eventually, a dead Trite fell out..and a lot of blood splashed out. Then, I saw a blur as a huge claw swiped at me from behind..I pulled out the shotgun, turned around...and there was a Pinky Demon (http://ucguides.savagehelp.com/Doom3/images/monster_pinkydemon.jpg) starting me straight in the face O.O

Seconding that one lol. It was more of a "HOLY [cabbage] LOOK OUT" moment while me and my little brother fell down laughing.

The butcher in Diablo I scared me. "FRESH MEAT!".

Half-Life 1

Going up the elevator with the music. I was 7 people. Scared the living *&^% out of me, had to ask my dad, who although he has a passion for FPS games, has the coordination of a giraffe to beat the level for me. I powered off the computer after a few seconds of the music (thank god for auto-save)

SIlent hill 4, and Doom3 both "accidents" involved wet seat.. :anxious:

any level with the flood in halo scares the hell out of me for some reason :ohnoes:

The first time the arms in RE2 burst through the barricades, the first time you meet a chainsaw guy and he chops your head off without warning in RE4. Also, multiple moments of surprise on Doom 3.

And the first time I stepped into the Butcher's lair on Diablo 1. 'Ahhhhh, fresh meat!' scared the living hell out of me.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

Haha ravenholm was more fun for me, since I always just grabbed the saw blades and cut everyone in half ::'

In the right mood I can get scarred by a good amount of games. I've been dungeon crawling in Morrowind or Oblivion before and had someone appear out of no where and scare the [cabbage] out of me. That happens a good deal.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem scarred the hell out me many a times.

Any doom game and Timesplitters 3 when those evil zombie monkeys come out of nowhere and kill me .

Sadly, Zelda: Twilight Princess. I can't remember where it was, I think the forest temple, but I jumped down not expecting to fight anything, then this HUGE spider comes out of no where and started attacking me. That freaked me out because I wasn't expecting it, plus I don't care for spiders too much

Doom 3 when you are walking into that bathroom and the pinky appears around the corner.

Also, just as you reach the first boss and enter that blood red room, that was friggen scary.

The hospital level in RE4 also has to win my vote, I could do everything else but the hospital scared me a lot.

Then of course there are the pop out moments.
