July 21, 200718 yr (Sorry about the bad title, didn't feel like thinking of a decent one) Okay I just graduated this past year, and if there was one thing I could tell to everyone at my school, it would have to be to show these people some respect. I don't know about your schools, but at mine, most of the students treat them like garbage, because that's pretty much what these students think some of the faculty are. At lunch time people leave their crap all over the tables instead of picking it up, and throwing it in the trash can ON THEIR WAY OUT. They don't have to walk further than they would without throwing it away. Some people even do it on purpose just to be [puncture]s. I'm by no means trying to brag, but I try to make the extra effort to throw not only my stuff away, but get my classmates sitting with me to throw their stuff away (although they sometimes take advantage of this and leave their stuff knowing I will throw it away). As for the other faculty, I'm just plain sick of hearing the little babies complain about how their teacher doesn't like them, or how the lunch lady is ugly and mean, or a million other things that are 90% of the time unjustified. I suppose everything is like this because its high school, and most of the people are ignorant and immature brats. Thankfully, college shouldn't be too similar (I think). Anyways yea I guess this is kind of a rant, but I just want to tell all of you to show some respect to not just the faculty at your school (especially them though). Show it to adults and even to people your own age. I'm guilty of being disrespectful even on this forums, I can admit it. For those of you going into high school next year, it would make me happy if you could be an example to your classmates, and urge them to show some more respect. I would GREATLY appreciate it Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/Aaronm14/MY FAVORITE BAND:http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=64310717And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must.
July 21, 200718 yr Well people who do this are just kids. They will change their ways when they get older. The faculty knew what they were getting into when they signed up for their job (they went to school so I'm sure they did/saw the same treatment).
July 21, 200718 yr Yes, Wakka is right. You have to realize that the majority of teenagers are complete idiots and have little to no respect for other people. Just because someone doesn't make $100,000 a year, it doesn't mean it's OK to disrespect them at all. They have jobs and they're simply making a living. They deserve just as much respect as anyone else.
July 21, 200718 yr Wakka has a point. Although we're old enough to not to act like a [bleep] to someone who's just doing there job. I always say thank you, or no thanks and cooperate with the faculty. I don't get into trouble in school. I know what some of the bus drivers have to go through everyday, I have to give them credit for dealing with it.

The faculty knew what they were getting into when they signed up for their job (they went to school so I'm sure they did/saw the same treatment). Which is exactly why the message to show some respect could do some good. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
July 21, 200718 yr Yeah, at my school there's a janitor who's not quite all there, he kinda wanders round and acts a bit grumpy. Most people rip the p*ss out of him and are always trying to wind him up, but I really don't have time for that, he's just doing his job and he's alright to me because I don't treat him as if he's below me. Another one of the janitors is a really, really nice guy but again he's not quite all there and one of the times that wound me up the most was when one of the teachers was semi-rude to him and brushed him off when he was trying to be friendly. It's not limited to the students. The truth is, people like that are generally working as hard if not harder than half the arrogant kids. Course, not everyone's like that, some of the other kids are alright to them, but going to a private school you get a lot of kids who've come from rich families and they think that gives them a right to treat people like that like dirt. It's disgusting. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
July 21, 200718 yr thanks guys for this, i get so much crap at work everyday, its a wonder i've not gone loony. laughter is a great cure all, either you laugh it off, or it sends you nutty- seriously but tbh its not just the teens, many of the adults are just as bad. i am a bus driver, and it does get tiresome having people give you crap. its actually a very demanding job, like many others people think its a easy job. i started a new job this week and just finished a 49 hour week, i doubt many teens would take on a job knowing how much work you'd haveto do each week. July 21, 200718 yr It's really disgusting to see how idiots treat these people. They're kinda hyprotricic (is that even a word?) since without them they won't have any lunch (oh noes!), no transportation (0mg!1), dirty schools/places (Ewww!), etc... The faculty knew what they were getting into when they signed up for their job (they went to school so I'm sure they did/saw the same treatment). Yea thats kind of what I was saying at some point in there I think. However I think a fair amount of them won't change, because like assassin said, it isn't just limited to the youth. As for knowing what they are getting themselves into, teachers know that, but for the others, their job is probably a last resort and they just need to make a living. The very least people could do would be at least show some respect instead of making their possibly miserable lives even worse. Part of the reason I post this is because I know there are probably some of these kids on these forums. It's really disgusting to see how idiots treat these people. July 21, 200718 yr Yeah, I agree with that. Except for the one bus driver I had who was a racist. July 21, 200718 yr Kids will be kids. Everybody has treated somebody like dirt unintentionally when they were younger, and most people at some point will likewise be treated like crap. The important thing is when you start to get older, hopefully you can realise how you've been and treat people like how you would like them to treat you. I don't think children (for the most part) deliberately set out to treat people (and particularly school staff) badly. I think alot of it comes from being immature and self-centred (which I suppose comes from immaturity) but most people grow out of it as they get older - and the ones who don't end up being losers anyway  . He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
July 23, 200718 yr With the kind of respect some kids have, they might as well be looking into the mirror at thier future selves and the job they'll end up with themselves. Everyone deserves no disrespect, at bare minimum. Anything less is bad karma. :P
July 23, 200718 yr At my school everybody liked the janitors. We always went out to see them in our lunchbreaks (they also gave us cigarettes when we didn't have any, so that was a nice extra). Everybody threw away their stuff, and when you didn't they just walked up you and said you had to pick your stuff up and throw it away. Might seem strange, but we actually looked up to our janitors. :P Everybody talked with the Lunch ladies as well. Well, not everbody, but a lot of people did. And everybody treated them friendly. July 23, 200718 yr 5 Lessons - About the way we subconsciously treat those around us 1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady. During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello." I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
July 23, 200718 yr I'm surprised at seeing how many people say this is a childish and idiotic thing. Wonder how many times they've ever done it themselves or laughed with a friend when he did it. Hypocrites -.- [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.

July 23, 200718 yr My high school had two grounds-keepers who were pretty cool. One of them (Jerry) would play cards with us during lunch if it was a slow day. The other guy (Tony) was a bit of a mixed bag, he appeared to be a little rough, but taught most of the guys who took argricultural mechanics more about vehicles and repairing them, etc, than their actual teacher did :P
July 23, 200718 yr i'm nice to my bus driver, especially since i sit in the front, and i get direct the sub driver in the mornings \ for teachers i like all of them except for one, no one really likes her because shes too strict. you see theres a computer lab next to her classroom and the walls are thin. our school assigns kids their own computer numbers usually seperating friends so they just yell across the room. our teacher tells us to be quiet for them when they're already yelling they're heads off!!! infact she tells us to be so quiet you have to be 6 inches away to hear it and kind of dont want my friends 6 inches away from me just so i can talk
July 23, 200718 yr Teachers are kind of meh..but you better treat the Janitors, any assistant people, bus drivers, or anyone in the cafeteria with the utmost respect..it pays off in the end \

July 25, 200718 yr I do the same thing as you, however going into highschool from Senior Public (Junior High), I'm not too sure. back in my other school we didn't have too many kids (ony about 200) so our supervisors could handle checking each table before we had to go, so I guess it will change. Probably the thing that makes me think this is that on the final day of my grad trip, while we were cleaning our hotel rooms, one kid said "Isn't the maid supposed to do this?" That kid pretty much ended up cleaning up a bit of every room. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
