What weapons did mighty warriors use in the 3rd age?

or the negativefirst age...

Methinks we call that first age before Christ .

And in my opinion real man don't use weapons \'

BC does not stand for Before Christ son.

Um yes it does? Unless you mean "Before common era", which is not the standard definition.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

What I really want to know is how people got more stupid over the ages. If they used to know how to make the strongest armor and weapons, how come we dont know how to make them now? Now we can only make rune, which is the noobiest of serious armor. In fact people barely wear it for serious combat.

i'm sure humans didin't make it in first place... dwarves did then we ripped it fof them! (because you can take anything from short ppl and claim as your own!) jk- in case any short ppl are out there reading this

but us "smarty" humans probably mined out all of the magical silver and killed all the white dragons... leaving none for the humans of today.

go humans for wasting the world's natural resources!!!

But in Runescape, all the ores replenish and creatures magically respawn. :-k

so whatever they used, i imagine we wouldn't stand a chance ;)

You go get a big sword and i'll get a 12 gauge, we'll see who 'won't stand a chance'

Why do we read books about fiction? Why do we watch movies? Because it gives us some plot impossible in real life to enjoy. I personally find this topic more interesting than most 'roll-playing' topics about what's youre favorite something-or-other. If you are playing this 'game' just to endlessly grind then maybe you should get a job; it's endless grinding without that 'uneccesary' story.

Moving on, they used standard weapons. 3rd age armour as a treasure trails reward is most likely top-of-the-line, I mean, bob the cat used it 'back in the day' and the barrows bros used a variant (stronger of course.) The armour probably survived because it was such good quality, whilst the cheaper grunt armour deteriorated away (my guess is copper and bronze)

Here's my two cents:

Dragon armour was possibly the stronger armor at that time, and degraded to what it is today, worse than third age. Silver tarnishes slowly, and also degrades slow as well, which is why jewelry is made of silver and gold. Dragon, on the otherhand, may have been the ultimate armor, but have weakened to less than the enchanted silver, due to the different properties. That, or the shopkeepers may have had a rough shipping, while third age is safely locked up in a casket somewhere ::' , waiting to be found...

There you have it! :)

Why have i heard so much about sigs in messageboards? Who are these sigs? Are they some type of group of people all named sig taking over?

Or maybe Dragon Armour is just the basic Dragonkin armour and was common, but the heroes of the 3rd Age had such rare armour that used the best silver and was blessed by the best of magicians, that is couldn't become run-of-the-mill because of the work needed to put into it and the lack of resources. Therefore, only the best of the best warriors in all of Glenior got to wear the armour.

Silver. It was the only effective metallic weapon against vampyres, which are people from the past.

If some poster have said this already I'm sorry.

Humans used dragon because it was what they found on monsters which supposingly come before humans, they couldn't find any 3rd age weapons. Same thing with smithing rune, humans can't find dragon ores and therefore can't manufacture dragon items.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Dark bow for the 3rd age range

Tokual(sp) for 3rd age melee,range

ancients for 3rd age magic

and for 3rd age melee*agian* I would say white wepions *BLESSED*

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Since knights usually use weapons with the same color as their armor they probably used steel melee weapons and steel bows....Strong bow

And the cavemen wondered how to make fire...

Im in the .00001% that finds Firemaking fun. If you find it fun add this to your siggy.

wow linkzelda, you really add much good things to the discussion, everybody wants to know that you think that O_M_G_Guasto owned chelseaboy, whilst they know that themselves (and keep their enter keys shut!)

Well third age armour used to examine;

Platelegs/Helmet/Platebody/Shield made from magically beaten silver

So they must have used magically beaten silver weapons before dragon

I'm offended -.- Hope you go die in a ditch somewhere... with a pickaxe impaled in you.

On topic: I would think that they used anything as a weapon, and maybe only used the "blessed silver" as armour? We all know how efficient silver sickles are as weapons... er, not very.

They only ever used runes...

Their melee armour only existed because they needed something to wear when they got in too close combat with monsters.

That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gem

of innocence inside of you that makes you want

to believe that there still exists a right and wrong,

that decency will somehow triumph in the end.

The greatest of 3rd age heroes used only the the most awe inspiring weapon known to man through the ages....the mighty rubber chicken \' \'

newge4.png

I believe someone pointed this out earlier, or something similar to it. Silver isn't rare but wasn't magic a difficult art back then? No doubt enchanting silver was difficult, seeing how we can only enchant gems because their ability to hold energy. Enchanting a metal like silver, I do believe it is a soft metal, would be hard. As powerful as it is, I doubt the foot soldiers would have it. Generals, rich merchants, or others of the like, would have it. Weapons were most likely dragon but a 3rd age weapons would be interesting. Lord Drakan would not like a powerful blessed silver weapon at all. This may be a wild guess but maybe some of the vampyres have to do with it seeing how powerful they are.

I need to read up on my RS lore later on.
