High School

Well, hello all tipit-ers, I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on high school. I'll be a freshman on september 7th and I was just wondering if anyone had any tips.

I'm kind of nervous about not being able to get around to my next class because I don't know the school lay-out(that would be quite embrassing if I walked into a classroom on the wrong floor, lol.).

I'm also abit nervous about making new friends, 11 of my old friends are going to the same school but obivously we will probably hardly see each other, etc. Anyway, I'm [as described by my friends] usually fun a comical guy, smart, confident, leadershipish, popular and who is usually a fun guy to hang around, but what if I can't seem to make friends?

(Note: this is a private all guys high school which has zero-tolerance on bullying and strict punishment on rulebreaking)

I had all this advice ready untill i read the last line. I dunno what its like at an all boys school, but i assume it sucks.

anyway. If you get lost, NEVER ask an upperclassmen for directions. At my school at least, thats an automatic send you in the wrong direction. My friend actually fell for it when some senior last year said"Oh just go a bit down the hall and take the next 4 lefts and you will be right outside the door"

if anything ask a teacher

Look its rob!

Get the best grades possible or you'll regret it later.

To avoid getting lost, think a little bit. Room numbers are usally located with groupings. Such as Room 100 would in the same area as 108. Letters grouping also apply (J232 is near J254), and etc.

But overall don't worry. I remember my summer before Freshmen year: nervous as hell. :P After some time you and your friends will sort things out on where and when to meet. Oh, and also don't expect to hang out with all of your friends at once. They usally get different lunches/schelules/areas.

Last thing I gotta say is good luck and enjoy it while you still have it.

My old highschool didn't have stairs. So if someone asked a direction we used to say up the stairs. Haha, highschool rocked!

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

sod off.

You'll always make friends in school, and seeing as you have a no bullying policy, if anyone says or does anything, just tell someone!

Don't look down. Don't worry if you don't understand now, you will later. :-w

On a more serious note, do the best you can and try to be nice. :D

EDIT: Oh yes, remember, 9/10 of your classmates are just as nervous as you are. :)

And if you do really well you can get scholarships in to university...(Don't know about where you live but it applies in Australia)

What's better? Fitting in or free university degree :P

What city do you live in o_O? The school?

Odds are low... but it's possible...

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I'm not sure if that's directed at me but, Brisbane and QUT School of psychology, QLD.

There were scholarships when I first started the degree for anyone with an OP of 1 or 2 (for the 3 years).

Also after 3rd year there is another scholarship awarded for all 4th year students with a GPA higher than 5.5, I'm currently sitting on a 6.5 :P

Do well = free psych degree, how awesome is that at approx $6,500 a year?

Odds are as high or as low as you decide they are. "Whether you think you can or can't, you are right".

Actually, it was directed at the OP :P . I'm a rising senior at an All-boys high school, so the odds are about .0..01%, but it's possible  .

Not at my highschool. room 3070and 3074 were all the way on the other side of the school #-o . It was also of a circular layout, so if you got lost all you had to do was go in a circle and you would find it lol. Is your school like that? If it is, you're good to go.

Don't worry over it, you'll have a blast in highschool. During the first week if you get lost your teachers won't do anything. They expect kids to have some difficulty getting around. Go into the school a day before and walk out your schedule so you have an idea of where you're going. As for friends, with how you described yourself, you'll have no problems. Just talk to people, put an effort into it, and make friends early. There's probably going to be cliques so make sure you actually get into one so you can go with them to football games or whatever. Other than that don't stress it. Come into the school confident and ready to enjoy the new changes and friends you'll make.

I'm going into my Sophomore year in a few weeks and I'm slightly nervous. Our Freshmen stay at the Junior High for classes.

Then again a lot of my closest friends at the school are popular. I'm kind of popular, myself. Basically, I'm just going to stay in my network of friends. I make friends easily as well and get along with just about everyone.

We don't have stairs.

Oh and there's always High School Initiation. Don't worry, they normally don't kick your [wagon], but they do usually make you do something sick. They might make you drink blood or whatever. No worries.

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
