August 2, 200718 yr About two years ago I heard a myth that the average person swallows 8 spiders a year while sleeping (On Average). I am deathly afraid of spiders, so after hearing this I've slept with a thin blanket over my mouth and nose. Yea, I know it's pathetic. August 2, 200718 yr I remember hearing that exact figure too a few years back (weird o_O) and it freaked my out at first. Then I actually thought about it for a second. How the hell would anyone know that :lol: ? It's not physically possible- you'd need to keep a camera in a couple hundred people's rooms, monitoring their sleep every night for decades. I mean, you don't even need to look at the facts in that source (however interesting they are), it's just not possible for it not to be a myth made up by some stupid teenager :lol: . August 2, 200718 yr *phew* I saw that on the back of the cover of a Snapple Ice Tea bottle when I was about 10, and I haven't forgotten it ever since. The slightest thing, like my hair blowing onto my face while I slept would send me into panic mode. :oops:

August 2, 200718 yr Phew. One time I woke up with an enormous spider in my face and almost simultaneously crapped and peed myself. I hope that was a one-time thing, too... Noted raw mackerel drop... Ive swallowed bugs before while i was awake and just thought, so, I swallowed it... what am I gona do about it? My stomach acids will take care of it.

August 2, 200718 yr Laikrob, who knows all about spiders, snakes ect said its a myth. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
