This weekend i planned on doing some mith drags sessions.

 

I made some ruby bolts, take out my kharil top and bottom and put neiz helm and black vambs on.

 

Now i had to pick which boots to take with me.My mouse was reaching for my rangers but then my fingered hesistated for a sec, should i?

 

i mean,one small disconnection and i'll probably will have to kiss my precious goodbye.

 

But things looked smooth that day,no laggs whatsoever,so i decided to take them with me.

 

7 trips later, everything looks cool (well..except from the dragon full drop part).

 

I finished the last trip and decided that before logging out, i'll see if the last chewed bones i got will yield something nice. I go to the pyre ship site, builds a nice little canoe and....nothing happens.i try to move but can't...

 

ok, disconnection, i wait for the timeout to elapse so i'll get the login window.

 

I re-login and...superdef mix, great :(

 

Anyway, this small,armless, disconnection incident got me thinking. if it had happended 5 minutes earlier then the bye-bye rangers scenario would have probably happen.

 

 

 

The question is,should we accept it as part of the game? Should we take it into consideration while planning on doing something that might jeopardize our valuables? Do you do?

 

Maybe Jagex should improve their disconnection mechanism,shorten the timeout a bit?

Jagex need to do macro banning spree, and add more worlds, then it would be less laggy.

It's usally your internet connection. Nothing you can do about it... :(

I used to see it that way also, but i think we shouldn't.

 

As long as my computer and my internet connection meets Jagex minimum requirments (and mine is surly above btw) i think the ball should be at their side.

I've never really had trouble with lag, just the occasional drop out that most people get.

 

 

 

Since they did the last game engine update, whenever I log in I just stand still for about 10-15 seconds. I can see everyone else moving about but I can't move in any way, access bank or anything like that. Very odd. #-o

Tbh, I have NEVER had my connection cut out when there wasn't something seriously wrong on my side. The few occasions in which I have experienced dcs were when my Router died, there was a heavy storm that disrupted wireless, or when my cable provider [bleep]ed up. Every time was on my end, not theirs, so I do not really see this as noteworthy issue.

 

 

 

However, with that said, I frequently have my game crash in World 2 falador. Is that normal? I do not remember that happening before the Engine update, but now, I will be walking and then everything will just freeze. I have to X-out at that point.

I only ever lag in fally w2, which is minimal lag, or when theres something up at my end.

 

 

 

What i do get, however, is booted from the game. And i don't mean, "Connection lost - attempting to reestablish", i mean, going from 100% fine then out of nowhere BOOM login screen. Like i idled but i was clicking and typing.

 

 

 

THAT could be dangerous. I'll never plan around that possibly happening, no, but i'd be annoyed if i lost something because of it.

 

 

 

If we forever plan for possible things going wrong, we'd never get anything done. It's not so much taking a chance, as being realistic. There is ALWAYS a chance of me dying, say i get a random just before i get booted....so why ever buy anything remotely valuable if i could lose it?

I h8 it when that happens, esp in the wildy. Still, you just have to be patient and not to have too many aplications running at the same time

I take that into consideration whenever I do something that could get me killed, but I always take my best stuff everytime. If I die, I die.

My screen went white at mith drags when i was fighting 1, i had fury 3a range top and bottom, lots of bolts, archer helm, ranger boots, barrows gloves, accumulator, ROW

 

 

 

Fury, Archer helm, and Barrows gloves would've been protected over my 3a range and ranger boots.

 

 

 

I got back on and i was alive though :)

i lag in w1 varrock and w2 fally but barely at all.

Well since the engine update instead of me lagging for a short period and then connection lost it just cuts out with no lag and gos directly to the log-in page. The new engine was supposed to make things run smoother but it has been worse for me.

its a fact that they kick you to login screen after 6 hours of continious gaming, if you dont believe me (some people didnt) log in, do not log out for 6 hours (meaning, not even switching worlds) and youll see :)

In my opinion, if you cant stand the heat, get out of the oven. even if your facing a lv 50, and ur lv 70, it is still possible for u to die. lagg, miss-click, distraction etc. if you dont want to lose ur valuable stuff, dont take it. :D

My biggest problem is the 'Back' key right above the left arrow key on my notebook keyboard. Ad kicks in, takes context out of game window, wrong key, Detail select screen.

 

 

 

Happened today just after I attacked a Lesser. Couldn't log back in for a while because I was already logged in. Fortunately was high enough health to nail the Lesser and had been long enough to get them to stop auto attacking.

 

 

 

 

 

Other than that, lags are normally caused by your internet connection. PC speed has nothing to do with it. If you are on a shared connection (e.g., DSL), then your speed would be affected by others also using the connection.

 

 

 

Clan Chat may have increased the risk of lag on full servers, but I'm sure they would have thought through that scenario.

I only lose connection when my network cable becomes disconnected (Stupid loose cable that won't stay in)

 

 

 

And I think I only get lag in places with lots of ppl spamming messages etc (ie W2 Fally)

i dont normaly lagg badly and have neva died or lost items to lagg but i did get connection lost on jad in caves....... 200k in pots and ammo and i didnt evn get a fair fight or any tockul

i hate that! but it logs u of after a few seconds EVEN IF U R ATTACKING!! trust me i kno, i was pking with a friend when i lost connection and my friend said i just dissapeared even tho a red spider was attacking me

I had that problem when I downloaded AVG, check if your anti-virus isn't doing scheduled scans on its own, that will lag up runescape.

Several months ago I experienced sudden logouts (not a lost connection, but right back to the login screen). Then I got a new antivirus program, and that program said it cut the connection because of a networkvirus attack (donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know why, that virus was not found on my computer). I adjusted the settings and the problem was solved. So if you also got this problem, try using a different antivirus program or adjusting the settings.

 

 

 

Recently I have a new problem, mainly in full worlds: internet connection lost, attempt to restore fails so logout (not being able to login again when in combat). I discovered a way to survive: during the message about the lost connection and the attempt to restore, clicking still works! You donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see anything happening because the screen is frozen, but when you log in again you see it worked. Means you can still eat. Or run to a safe spot. So when IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m fighting hard and agressive monsters, I always stay close to a spot in a safe zone where I can run to with 1 click.

I've disconnected at metal dragons twice and been fine. Usually it just takes it as logging out. I hope I don't have a disconnect at barrows or else I stand to lose:
