What is so bad about RC pk'ing?

Ok, I agree that the risk is supposed to be there, etc.

 

 

 

But, the result of rc pking is pretty much rcer's misery. I know how awful I've felt after I got rc pked, the thought of getting all those pouches again. It's like being the bully at school, to a sadistic mind, it's fun, but the fun is in making other people feel bad. Please, think about that, how you make other people feel.

 

 

 

So ask youself: What is bad about inflicting misery upon others? In the real world, you take the risk of ridicule if you interact with people, does that mean it's right to unfairly bully others?

 

 

 

 

 

*edit* Italian, dedicated rc pkers teleblock, so often you are bound in one spot, while some jerk dds specials you, making you lose all your pouchs, and most likely making you not want to play for the rest of the day.

 

 

 

I think this is a very good way to put it. Also, i was just rcing, and some pker tried to kill me. I hit a 0-0 spec on him, and he runs. -.-.

The most annoying thing about RC pking is that many of the people are 1 itemers... They just run up to you, tb you and then dds spec you. If they don't spec you out, then they teleport. That's such cowardice. :roll:

Don't get what the big deal is. The reason jagex put it in the wilderness is so that you do occasionally get pked.

 

I rc pk, but I also rc for cash, so I experience both sides.

 

 

 

Someone tries to rc pk me? Well ok, then I come back with a dds and spec them out. Jeez, no need to go calling the guy a loser, at least he keeps your rune prices up, and glories down.

Takes nowhere near 3 hours. The last time it took me 20 mins, and my friend says the longest it's ever taken him was like 35, when he was like 60...

Actually, I don't think Nature Rune prices will significantly decrease if RC PKers were to disappear which will sadly never happen .

 

 

 

Personally though, I'm on OK grounds with RC PKers. I don't approve on them, but I don't have anything against them. After all, I don't think they deserve all the flaming they get for doing what they want (its not against the rules, right?).

 

 

 

I've crafted well over 100K Nats (76 RCing) and all through that time, I've only ever been PKed once, and that occasion was unique as I had forgotten my one-click teleport. If people were more cautious and RCed more efficiently with the proper gear and precautions, then RC PKers wouldn't be as much of a nuisance as most people think they are.

 

 

 

But... the one thing that I think they deserved to be looked down on and flamed is their cowardly PKing tactics. I'd expect them to fight fairly if RCers ever decided to fight back (good on ya, those RC PKers who do :wink: ) since technically, they were the ones that initiated the fight. Teleporting, eating at more than 3/4 life, and using Protect from Melee comprises most (not all) RC PKers tricks and can be considered dishonourable. And when they are defeated, they leave saying "Pwnt, nub." If you can't even stand up to an ordinary RCer, then please, don't attack us at all.

Personally these are the reasons why I hate rc pkers:

 

 

 

1)Poison by dds = waste of anti poison dose, whatever needed to get rid of poison

 

2) Forced to tele = waste of glory charges

 

3) Tbed, waste of my anti tb item

 

4) DDS spec: Adding on unnecessary hp lost to what abyss monsters will do

 

5) New abyss trip after tele from being anciented: Spending unnecessary more energy which goes to more used super energy pots.

 

6) The extra need to scroll through bank to find necessities to restore hp (food, anti poison and such)

 

 

 

Meh, I'm very calculative about little seconds spent doing various stuff. :uhh:

I can't believe I just read something that long, which probably took you quite a while to write down, to defend RC pkers. You defended your points very well, but it's obvious you're only looking at it from a blind PK'ers point of view.

 

 

 

No matter how hard, and how many arguments are used to defend RC pkers, the truth is it's a cowardly "hobby".

 

You classify it as fun. Now tell me, WHY do you classify it as fun? You say you do it for fun, even though it's lousy cash. I'd like to know WHY you classify it as fun, before I continue defending my arguments.

 

 

 

It's obvious, and we all know that, that RC'ers know that the abyss brings risks to every player training through it, and it is intended to be that way. But WHY would you defend/enjoy annoying and spoiling a game for many who are training under the difficult circumstances already? I know, it's a risk they've agreed to take, that is why nothing can stop you from doing it, but why be proud of RC PKing?

 

 

 

You say it requires skill - Scamming requires skill too, so you're not caught ;) Everything requires some bit of skill, and it doesn't make something more or less honourable, just makes it easier/harder.

 

 

 

I find that anyone who RC PKs is a bored and dishonourable player, for making a business/activity of attacking players who are in no way defying or threatening them in the wildy. Basically it's just a player attacking another without provocation and no apparent reason!

Of all the people that tried to rc pk me, I come back, with DDS, they flick Melee Protect on, run away and call me a noob. Nice display of skill.

 

 

 

I've asked many on numerous occasions to have a battle, they always decline, run to the ditch and probably hop worlds.

 

 

 

Point is, they prey on the people who have no proper fighting gear. When we come back for a fight, they don't have enough guts to fight you. They are looking for easy cash, an easy PK, not for fun. If they really wanted to have fun, they would go fight someone who actually has REAL weapons. Not just attacking people who have nothing on them. :roll:

 

Coming back 1 iteming with a dagger asking for a fight, how could anyone say 'Nty' to that?

I think it's the collecting all the pouches again that ticks most people off, especially since the pker gets only about 80k.

Its annoying to get attacked by rc pker, because i keep tele and p pot in my inv, so i dont ever lose my glory. Only thing that happens is that ill have to go get my pouches from the ground, but when a rc pker knows that im coming to get my pouches, some kill/freeze me just to stop me from getting my pouches back. And that is very, very annoying, and the reason i hate rc pkers. :evil: I dont care if they want to spend spells on me to get 22 p ess, iron axe,iron pl8 and iron kite, just dont hinder my playing by stopping me to get my pouches back. :x

Honestly, I have no problem whatsoever about you trying to pk me in wildy. Only thing that really tickes me off is that they tele so fast when you try to fight, really pathetic! Or worse, try to attack me with ancients and just slows me.

 

 

 

I haven't died yet, nor will ever, rc pkers takes out the competition and gives me an adrenaline rush when they pray then tele from my specs. So, keep on pking guys. :-$

Cuz rc pkers r scared to take on ppl who can fight back? They atk some1 who probably has no food, no pray, and a really bad weapon. A guy with a whip comes by in real gear, and the rc pker starts running for his life? Thats just a sign of how much of a coward rc pkers r.

You make excellent points. What ticks me off about them so much is their cowardice. At least 80% of the RC pkers I've gone back to kill have been cowards. Without even putting up a fight to see if they can kill me they escape. Escaping is all good, but at least put up a fight. If youre attacking people who generally don't fight back and then run when someone does fight back... that's just shameful. :shame:

If you don't want to be killed when crafting, don't skull - use the bracelets, that's what they're for. If you're not skulled then even the thickest pker knows that you won't be leaving a glory behind.

 

 

 

 

 

I did that I still get pked loose my puches and spend a good 1/2 hours getting them back, and 1/2 not runecrafting = a good 150k-300k loss of profit.

Rc pkers only intent is to kill rcers, i.e: people they know will not fight back, thats pretty much the definition of cowardice. I haven't used the abyss in a while(2 months), but i doubt much has changed.

 

 

 

Its really pretty irrelevant that they don't pk there for profit, but for fun, its a bit like rich people who go hunting in Africa with a team of beaters, and lurers, while they stand there with a high velocity hunting rifle and shoot a lion from half a mile away.

Okay, so you actually fight back when you get attacked by real PKers, and you PK other RC PKers. Kudos to you, but the fact is that many RC PKers act like complete noobs.

 

 

 

They try to PK me, I come back with a DDS and get a couple of good specs in, they tele.

 

 

 

The last time I actually got killed by a RC PKer (only happened twice so far), they attacked and killed me when I came back to get my pouches. Well, I got ahold of them and dropped them again and got them back the next time I came back, but come on! Wasting like 10 entangles on a RCer coming back to reclaim his pouches? That's low -.- A lot of RC PKers do this...

 

 

 

Oh yeah, and both times I got killed the said PKer was shouting random l33tspeak at me. The only words I could make out were "0wned" and "n33b". :roll:

 

 

 

It's that kind of crap that gets RC PKers a bad rap. That along with the fact that they are annoying.

I've been RC pk'ed twice, and one of them wasn't even an rc pk. My ring of life saved me the second time, but poison killed me before I got to bank.

 

 

 

It's not hard to avoid rc pkers, especially the ancient ones. Bring a brew, wear good magic defense, and be surprised at how they will not be able to spec you out.

 

 

 

That said, I do think they are slightly annoying. But the risk/annoyance is supposed to be there. This is still the best way to make money/gain RC xp there is (Excluding FFL), and I will continue to use it as long as I want. The pkers are a given risk, and I have come to accept that. If one attacks me, and I'm mad enough to come back in gear to try and kill them, it annoys me if they run away, but I still don't hate them. RC pkers don't have the best gear to defend against someone coming back in gear for them, and so I expect them to run. For the ones that don't, I applaud them. I do know that RC pking takes skill. Tbing and then snaring without splashing is a very rare thing to happen, and it barely ever does. That's the only way people really do get RC pks, with the exception of people who don't bring teles/forget to. The only thing very annoying is getting back pouches. Maybe I'm unique in the fact that it takes me a while to get them back. Maybe other people don't have as much trouble getting them as me; maybe I'm a special case.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In conclusion, no: I don't hate rc pkers. They annoy me slightly, but if one is doggedly pursuing me, I'll just hop. No big deal.

I've only noticed a few people who don't hate rc pkers on this thread, and as an avid rcer (lvl 85, and I have the ess for 89) who has not once tried to rc pk, I have to say I rather appreciate them.

 

 

 

At my current combat level of 101, I notice that most people who try to kill me have at least 85 magic. Now, assuming that the pker high alched from level 55 to get there, that's 47,500 natures. Since level 50 runecrafting, I've pretty much only made natures, and that comes out to about 350k of them. That means that 7 abyss pkers who alched to 85 magic have funded my runecrafting hobby, and at the high prices that the danger of rcing allows me to sell at.

 

 

 

Face it, rcers give abyss pkers their levels, and take their money ... seems a fair trade off for the occasional death. So I'd like to thank abyss pkers for keeping nature prices up, for being great customers, and for providing me with excitement during boring hours of rcing. ;) Oh, and taunting them while rcing is fun too. Keep up the good work :P
