August 25, 200718 yr I wonder how long the momentum will last. Eventually its hardware will start getting moldy and will get blown out by the more advanced systems. I'll give that a year or so. Yeah, they call that new consoles. :\ after 1 year? unless sega have been hiding some serious [cabbage] theres no new contenders about. go wii !!

August 27, 200718 yr I've been waiting for this day to come! LOL. Actually, the library must make an increase, which it will with Brawl, the new Trauma center game, Metroid, and probably some random Zelda game in the far future...However, we still need more games in order to keep people's interest. And with some reviewests saying metroid looks like a Nintendo version of Halo, we are so gonna kick [wagon]. Bravo Nintendo, we dominated the handheld market and now the Console wars... =D> Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

August 28, 200718 yr Not bad. But the fact that it is so cheap gives it an advantage compared to the other consoles. It's a fun console to play on though. You can get a nice little work out with playing some of the games. :P ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous
August 28, 200718 yr Rest assured, my Nintendo fanboy chums and I will rejoice in our victory. I'm only surprised that it's outsold the 360; what with the year-long headstart Microsoft got, I'd assumed that it would take longer. It's possible that may just be my warped sense of time, though. August 28, 200718 yr Welcome to the world where you can be a gamer and still have a life. Nintendo was the first to see this coming, and they shifted their product to respond more closely to the new market of social gaming, focusing more than ever on games that are perfect for group play and can be picked up in a matter of minutes. The eighth generation of consoles will probably all be adapted to this - less focus on powerful hardware and games that require a large investment of time in favour of simpler consoles that appeal to a wider range of people. There could be a niche console for the hardcore gamer, but in the long run this new market is where the true money lies. August 28, 200718 yr It's not that simple I think. I'm sure there's people like me who are in between. I play maybe one game of Fifa, or Madden, or one level in Halo. And then that's it. I don't want to replay it, and often enough, I'm happy playing on the easiest difficulty. I used to be on the Wii bandwagon until I actually experienced it. Is it fun? Yes. But does the fun last? No. After a while, it gets really tedious. Jerking the controller here and there loses novelty after a while. Unless your friends are over more than three times a week, the Wii will collect dust often enough. The Wii is a good console, but it's really just a complement to either a PS3 or 360. I'm just not talking about cinematics and better graphics either (which add a lot to the gaming experience as well), but also to the game interactivity, ie. AI, which can't be done with cheap components. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 29, 200718 yr Well Nintendo does have Legend of Zelda Cheap Price Good Games Has something to appeal to all. 8-) I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]

All nintendo need to do now is make more games and then they have won.
August 29, 200718 yr Play Dead Rising on the 360 with all those zombies coming at you at the same time. You can't replicate that feeling on the Wii. Or look at BioShock and feel the game. It really supports the storyline that makes it that much better. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 29, 200718 yr Was this really a surprise? I'll admit, me and the others that post on Nintendo of Europe's official forums were slightly apprehensive about the new bold approach by Nintendo, but DS proved it works. PS3 was dead from the start. Hardly any noticable difference between it and the 360, and a good ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã200 more. 360, while lower in price than PS3, simply couldn't compete with the cheapness of the Wii. Its exclusive games didn't do as well as expected, consequently it died. Look at it like that, Wii was an inevitable winner. However, the recent price cut by Microsoft on the 360 may prove problematic yet for the Wii... this battle's not over yet. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
August 29, 200718 yr I have to be in agreement with shadow here. I'd love to see (personally) more stuff such as what nintendo is doing but without having to have a console dedicated to it. I'd like to see the consoles continue to move forward in processing power just because with more power comes the ability to have better AI and create scenarios that couldn't be done before.
August 31, 200718 yr the wii is still good. if it had graphics like the 360 or Ps3 then it would definatly be the winner. (i don't have a wii, i have PS3)
September 1, 200718 yr Play Dead Rising on the 360 with all those zombies coming at you at the same time. You can't replicate that feeling on the Wii. Or look at BioShock and feel the game. It really supports the storyline that makes it that much better. Play a Zelda game, especially that on the Wii, both the great storyline and beautiful artwork (it's not just about processors and graphic cards, art plays a huge role) and it is just breathtaking. The section where you fight a group of goblin-type creatures on horse back, aim and shooting with grace is far better than twiddling some joystick and shooting a ton of zombies. Other examples of this are Metroid, which is also highly rated and consired by a fare few to hold it's own against 'graphic' giants because of it's artwork and great plot. I could go on with ones such as Mario etc. But the point I am trying to make is that Nintendo are able to create a gaming experience that has captured gamers since their creation. All this plus the addition of such innovative uses, such as Metroid's excellent aiming and shooting abilities, which is pretty much agreed to be much better than mouse/keyboard set up makes for a winner. Replicate that.
September 1, 200718 yr You saying Metroid having better FPS controls than keyboard/mouse combo (not to mention your name GAMEBOYpen) shows that whatever argument I have will be fruitless. But thing you need to know is that there are other games that can replicate that. The only difference now actually is the new Wii controller. But when you say this, Play a Zelda game, especially that on the Wii, both the great storyline and beautiful artwork I'm sorry, but are you saying great storyline and beautiful artwork is limited to Nintendo? This is the only problem I have with Nintendo fanboys (or any other fanboys) is that they're limited to what their favourite company produces. They will make their own opinion before even touching a competition. No console has limits to storyline because that all depends to the creator's creativity. But they can be limited from creating vast interactive worlds and complex artificial intelligence and 'great artwork' depending on the console they're developing for. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
September 1, 200718 yr the wii is still good. if it had graphics like the 360 or Ps3 then it would definatly be the winner. (i don't have a wii, i have PS3) No it wouldn't. And I say that as someone who has been behind Nintendo for a good part of the last ten years. In fact, I actually found out about RS through a Nintendo forum. The reason being because if it had as powerful graphics as PS3 or XBox the price would go through the roof, and Ninty wouldn't be able to use the "cheap, family console" line Wii has so relied upon. The Wii would be squeezed out of the market in next to no time... in fact it would just be the N64 disaster for the third time running. And Shadow, the Wii is capable of great artwork and Twilight Princess, along with Brawl coming out later, proves that. TBH, I barely notice a significant enough difference in graphics between the Wii and the other two consoles for me to choose the other two conoles over the Wii. Yet the Wii has a lot more weapons in its arsenal the other two can't compete with. Nintendo anticipated the massive explosion in new technology, and also anticipated the way SONY and Microsoft would go in response to this new technology. With that, they could plan their actions accordingly, and under Satoru Iwata, Nintendo have leeched off the other two's success. If SONY don't get their act together soon, they'll end up from going 1st at the sixth-gen, to 3rd at the seventh. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

How come u only say good things about the 360? What about the wii and the PS3? Maybe i might have answer: You have a 360. you play the games on it and other things. you keep up to date with the latest news and new features. so to you it is the best console. have you ever thought what might be like on another console? ( I hope i am sayin the right thing) :)
September 1, 200718 yr What the hell are you talking about? Read through what I said and it applies to both 360 and PS3 :wall: @Ginger, have you seen the screenshots for Brawl? I CAN'T wait for that game since I loved Melee. But you have to be half-blind to say that the graphical difference between Wii and the other consoles are 'barely' noticeable. "the Wii has a lot more weapons in its arsenal the other two can't compete with. " No, it doesn't. All it has going for it is the new controller. September 2, 200718 yr About me being called Gameboypen, biggest mistake in my life. Check my first line in my blog, it's a boy who plays games. I wasn't thinking at the time. And also about being a 'Ninty' fanboy, I grew up with a PlayStation and only got into Nintendo in the Gamecube era. I myself have a 360 and only have one game Test Drive: Unlimited. ( it tbh.) There is great artwork and storylines in other games, by other compainies but I'm just saying Nintendo is at least in the top 2 or 3. Because of their experience with this type of thing. "the Wii has a lot more weapons in its arsenal the other two can't compete with. " No, it doesn't. All it has going for it is the new controller. Tell me something it can do that its competition can't? Well it does have a determined list of great Nintendo franchises that have always been a success and haven't being showing any signs of slow-up.

"the Wii has a lot more weapons in its arsenal the other two can't compete with. " When did i say that? i would say... The PS3 and 360 have have good weapons.
September 5, 200718 yr It's a success, but it seems that the Wii only has a few good games.. it's just appealing to non-gamers, so it sells well. I bought my Wii basically for Smash Brothers (i can't wait for it to come out :D).. other than that, it seems like all the games on the Wii are like Mini Game Party 9 :/ ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
September 9, 200718 yr w000t!!! I've also loved nintendo all along. before Wii and PS3 came out, all my friends said nobody is going to buy the Wii. I told them my opinion (that nobody will buy PS3 because there isn't anything special about it except blue ray) Once it all came out and up to this point I guess I was right. there are only like 5 or 6 people that have the PS3 in my grade too.
September 10, 200718 yr I looked at Nexgenwars.com and it said the Xbox 360 had 1 million more sales than the Wii.
