Hi9im8Here7
As far as I know communism is about equal life opportunities for everyone, minimal governance, shared public property... I'm a hardcore capitalist but I don't understand what people have against the core idea of communism, just because they've heard 'it's bad' Because when its applied to real life it never works. As far as I have read on it, the only true socialist government that has ever existed was during lenin's reign, and that was quickly done away with when Stalin took power. And all the rest of them are either just crazy dictators who aren't really communists but use it to get into power, or people who don't understand its true ideals. Oh, and america is far too anti-communist, because the ultimate dream of the communist isn't really that different than the founding father's vision. Limited government, responsibility for your own life, no one using material wealth to gain influence over others, exactly the opposite of where the world is going. :P
Randox
Maby I should put money on them bannign dodge ball in gym by october. I rember in grades 1-3 being able to climb onto the monkey bars and hang from them or jump off them. Then they mad ethe grade 4-6's go to some stupid other playground where we got to climb on even higher objects. Now swings are banned from public parks (or at least you cant build a new set or replace an existing set). But Tag? Thats just stupid. Other sports/games that shouldn't be banned but proboly will be in near future: -skipping/jump rope (migth trip :ohnoes: ) -stormy seas (if it isen't alredy) -running anyplace where there isen't grass Kids have to learn teh hard way a few times beofre they relise they should just listen when you tell them not to do something. If you protect them from every little thing they'll never learn while there young and then they'll learn the hard way on something much worse and more painfull. GrimHams
Yeah, they let you play tag and look how you turned out. A commie. Thats gotta be a justified reason for banning tag. As far as I know communism is about equal life opportunities for everyone, minimal governance, shared public property... I'm a hardcore capitalist but I don't understand what people have against the core idea of communism, just because they've heard 'it's bad' That is the core idea of communism, but he. most likely being American, using "communism" to describe "stalinism", two completely opposite economic and governmental practices. Ignorant Americans...but thats wildly off-topic. Anyways, kids get hurt a lot and will wherever they go, banning tag won;t help...and kids probably will play anyways, just like they did when I was younger. Whats this, a communist calling someone else ignorant? Well now i've heard it all. I hate to get off topic but i might as well respond.

Flametrooper
What I wanna know is, how effective has it been? Because in my elementary school (and even in middle school, I mean you'd think they wouldn't be as protective by then) they banned a bunch of crap, and no one really payed attention. They lifted the ban after a while because all the supervisors got fed up running all over the place trying to enforce it.

foolgool
I hate America... The land of the free, eh? Not for long now, is it? Parents and school officials need to lighten up, or else kids will be limited to chess and checkers, and recess will be a thing of the past. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132. Bloodredsword
Slowly the world is trying to make everything safer for kiddies, and eventually it will end up being a padded cell. The whole world will be a gosh darn pillow. (Anyone ever seen that Fairly Odd Parents "episode" where the parents turn safety crazy? sorry....thats like the only episode i've seen of that :P) Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Walmart44
Mugger age 6 FTW. I also thought this had something to do with the body spray, but anyway... You know that Korn song Devolution (?), I've been saying that for years now, I mean WTH!?! Whats a running game without chasing other then racing and thats only fun for so long, and that will slowly evolve into tag (again). I fear for the future. Fear is your only God
adam_ross0
Figures. [hide=Similar story]I remember when I was in grade school. We used to play red rover..basically, you get into 2 lines parallel to each other. You hold hands in order to form a barrier of sorts. Then you call out one person's name, and they rush at where 2 people are holding the hands to try and seperate them and break through. If they get through, they take any member of the opposing team back to their line. If they can't get through, then they join the opponent's team. It can be very violent if it's a buncha teenagers instead of grade school kids. So, this one girl decided to play. She's a crybaby, everybody knows it. Our teacher knew her mom very well. So, a smaller kid (he rushed me just before that, when he hits, you can almost not even feel it) is selected to run. So he hits her and her friend's arms, and flips under them. It didn't even look like an impact. As you can imagine, she starts bawling her eyes out. She crawls to the teacher. And what do you know, the very next day (later which she admitted that she had told her mom and her mom contacted said teacher), there was a ban on Red Rover schoolwide. For us, the teacher said we couldn't do touch football, RR, Dodgeball, or anything that involved anything more than a simple tap on your arm.[/hide] With things like these going on, no wonder our nation is being crapified. They're focusing more on a couple of kids being chased around more than an education or something important.
Hevendor_Guy
And they're doing this to those who will one day be our leaders? Football was banned at my elementary school too (cause some kid got tripped and lost a loose tooth -.-), what the hell is the world coming to... and whoever made the "padded cell" comment on the first page: classic. There's cake through here, apparently. Tbfgraphx14
Well sisscors (sp?) were banned in our school because one crazy kid was trying to act "gangsta" and pretend to stab someone. All paper-cutting activities had to be done at home :? Maybe not as bad, but still a little odd. Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass. Will H
At my school, we can't use any ball which is larger or heavier than a tennis ball because teachers were getting hit by stray footballs etc. in high school, we drafted waivers which we had people sign then hand to office which said that they (the student) took full responsibility for any injuries sustained while playing red rover. and it was quite lucky too because some guy got his sholder dislocated and when his parents heard they went [cabbage], but the school produced his statement of 'i undertake this at my own risk' which he had signed and they shut up about it. Unfortunately I believe that our parents have to sign it at my school, but there are a few over-protective ones who then ban their kids from anything physical. So for us, in some cases, it's even worse than banning tag, because you can't do anything physical whilst watching others who can do what they want. :( ~ W ~
