September 2, 200718 yr Ahh, this is terribly fun, the time flies when you're playing it, Hah! (oh yes, a pun.) Na, I find it rather addictive, and seeing as my dad has a long history with planes, being a flight engineer and the such, I've had my fair share of flight simulators. This is fun, got to fly over my favourite European city, Paris, and New york :P As well as my neighbourhood, Oh and by the way, don't try Antarctica, you can't really see anything. If it's any help F is for flaps, it makes flying a lot easier in my opinion. :)

September 2, 200718 yr I don't think its an easter egg, the BBC had an article about it the other week and it was also in the Daily Mirror. Yeah considering its in the Tools menu where you go to start flight simulator, I highly doubt they wanted it to be something people had to find.

I'm 99% sure that only appears after you hit Control A for the first time though. Kind of like the door in the Volcano in Karamanja, you can only use it after your gotten to it the hard way :

September 2, 200718 yr Author Alright, I officially rock at life. I took off from the San Fransisco bridge in an F-16 and landed on an aircraft carrier near LA. The carrier was parked, but still... it was pretty sweet :
September 2, 200718 yr Trapical how do you slow down enough to land, i have my flaps at 100 and decreasing my speed as much as possible then using the brakes but i just cant do it. Isn't it lovely how having an opinion makes you hated around here?

September 2, 200718 yr Nevermind I got the landing down. Tips -Hold page down until it starts slowing down. -Have your landing gear down, it helps you slow down a lot. -Flaps should be at 100% Approach your flat landing surface and slow your plane down as much as possible, at 160 you should be close to the ground and make a gradual approach to the ground. Once you touch down hold down , & . to slow down until you stop. Isn't it lovely how having an opinion makes you hated around here?
September 3, 200718 yr Author I also find it helpful to have the flaps set to "up" (shift + arrow key down) which would normally make the plane rise, but at the same time I am forcing the plane's nose down with the stick (arrow key up). This really glides the plane in at an angle easy enough to land And no, there are no missiles, maybe next year :wink:
September 3, 200718 yr I love playing around with this. It makes me want to go buy a higher quality flight simulator. I'm thinking about going to Best Buy and buying Flight Simulator 2004. It's only 20 dollars and I have 33 dollars left on a gift card that I can use.
September 3, 200718 yr Addictive. I managed to fly from JFK to Logan without crashing...Of course, I crashed while landing. But eh, at least I crashed on the runway. :D I think I've got turning down...Slowing down seems to be my biggest problem...
